We had been trying to raise funds on our property via equity release, turned down twice, due to non-standard construction, despite our home being only 8 years old and architect-designed. Contacted Richard Wylder for his help. He also had difficulty with finding providers to accept a loan on our home for the same reason, with several rejections following. He remained open and honest with us about our chances, and kept our expectations realistic. However, using his experience and expertise he persevered and finally we received our mortgage offer! He was a marvel, and I would highly recommend Richard as we know he will do his utmost to achieve a successful result for his clients.

What can I say about this company?

From the minute I answered the phone Richard Wylder was out of the blocks.
Enthusiasm and knowledge were second to none and so helpful.
Richard’s assistant Michelle was just as friendly and helpful and between the pair of them managed to negotiate a difficult re-mortgage but to good effect.
Having just completed yesterday the closing touch was a nice gesture but you will have to get these guys to complete your mortgage to find out what comes at the end. I would not hesitate to use this company again and will keep their number in my phone for future necessities.

We are trying to raise funds via equity release, and wasted five months with a couple of providers who rejected our application due to its non-standard construction. Our property is relatively new, eco-friendly and sustainable, we had future-proofed our home. After two rejections we were put on to Richard Wylder via Unbiased.co.uk, who was prompt in contacting us following our initial enquiry. Richard was able to access all the equity release providers, and, not knowing much about our building construction, found out all he needed to from us, and asked for photos for include with his enquiry, aiming to be as comprehensive as possible to prospective lenders. He was open and upfront, professional, and did not 'beat about the bush', advising that we were not likely to be successful. He explained why he felt this, so not raising any unrealistic expectations. He forwarded all the responses, promptly. Unfortunately he was right and we have been unsuccessful. Richard has however been able to offer an alternative that we hadn't considered. We are currently re-thinking our plans. He also explained that, from his perspective, he felt he had gained knowledge about non-standard construction so be in a better position to advise others in the future who may be experiencing the same difficulties as us. We would happily contact Richard again should we require financial advice in any area.

As a first time buyer things in the housing market are not always as clear as you'd like. Having tried to work with mortgage advisors in the past it has become apparent that this is a really important relationship based on trust and compatibility. I was very glad the day I rang and spoke to Richard, he at once put me at ease and spent genuine time discussing my options. A True Five Star Company

Having contacted several companies dealing in Equity Release without success, I was greatly encouraged by Richard Wylder’s helpful approach at Mortgage And Equity.

Part of the first floor of our property is situated over a Design & Lifestyle Shop and when Equity Release involves a retail unit, this usually proves a non-starter for most financial institutions. Richard however, thought he may know of a company who might fulfil our requirements and said he’d get back to us within 24 hours.

True to his word he called me with the news that he had found two companies willing to look at our property. Both were household names so we were pleased it wasn’t some Russian company with a name like ‘Trust me’!

Tom Evans later contacted me and arranged for a solicitor, at a very competitive rate, to meet my wife and myself and complete legalities for the proposed lender’s solicitor. The interest rate Tom negotiated was very acceptable considering the fact that there were only two companies competing for the business and they were both willing to proceed.

During the six weeks it took to bring our finical request to fruition I found Tom and Richard to be totally professional. They showed great tenacity and provided updates when they said they would. They addressed potential obstacles which they viewed as challenges and maintained a positive, purposeful attitude and retained a great sense of humour throughout.
