Outstanding

Just arrived home from Marco Pierre Whites restaurant in Lincoln. We were spoilt, made to feel extremely special. Nothing was too much trouble.
Food was wonderful, service spectacular.
Couldn’t improve on anything as everything was outstanding.
A massive thank you to Jon White who looked after us tonight and all of his team.

Absolute rubbish

Arrived to find we were greeted with an overweight bouncer .. he guided my wife and myself to a very small place ( no room to take your coat off ) by a false wall ..
It was as if we were cheap ..
Had to move as it was not a place to enjoy a meal ..
Got a place opposite the bar .. placed our order , waited over 30 mins for fish and chips ( for myself ) and Shepard’s pie for my wife .. ( just remember we are both in our late seventies ) .. when it arrived , the overweight gentleman asked if I would like red sauce with my fish and chips ( a total insult from an ignorant imbecile) ….
If this is what you get from these restaurants then the owners are in dreamland .. the worst lunch I have encountered.. management should be ashamed of the derive and quality of food they serve

Disappointed

Disappointed - Sunday lunch at Cadbury house location in congresbury.

Food ok just about
Service was polite
Setting was nice

So many issues around dealing with the Groupon deal both before, during and then when the bill came.

Really detracted from the relaxed Sunday lunch

Won’t be back.

Whatever has happened to MPW

Whatever has happened to MPW, has his restaurants become a money pit? Or has he lost his passion for good food. Drinks extremely overpriced for cheap wine. You don't mind paying high prices for a special experience but this fell far below. Even a white tablecloth is a thing of the past. We ordered a Caesar salad and they could not make that correctly. Service from the kitchen was very slow and the young waiting staff feel an apology is sufficient to put things right. I have enjoyed many meals at MPW, but things have definitely gone down hill. Not worth the prices they are charging and certainly not the experience it once was.

Just awful

Just awful. Marco clearly puts his name to anything. I had Shepard’s pie and it was like a poor school meal. My wife had a steak and they didn’t have steak knifes. I ordered a drink 3 times and it never came. Truly terrible service and food. Do not go to the Lincoln restaurant save your money get a MacDonalds it’s far better than this drivel

You'd get a better steak from Asda

You'd get a better steak from Asda. The chips were good, as was the Paris butter sauce, but the coleslaw was also very poor and tasted like it was from Iceland.
Once you had cut all the inedible gristle off the top of the sirloin there was only about 4 oz left from our 7 oz steaks - and the meat itself was tough with no taste. Both my and my partner's steaks had the same issues. The manager agreed there had been 'supplier problems' recently.

Had a mixed grill

Had a mixed grill , I’ve tasted cardboard with more flavour. Dry dull and boring. Can’t believe he’s put his name to this but money talks. Won’t be eating here again. . It’s not difficult to cook good food, obviously not at Marco Pierre White. Very disappointed. Didn’t want to create a fuss at the table as it was an important family event not a meal critique

Disinterested staff spoil the eating experience here.

I've eaten in this restaurant many times in the past and really enjoyed the experience. Today was unfortunately a complete disappointment. The beef was extremely chewy in the Sunday Roast (TBF the accompanying vegetables were all very tasty). The biggest shortcoming however was the abject service of the waiting staff here. They give absolutely nothing towards creating a special experience and with the exception of the very decent young manager that I spoke to; conveyed an attitude of complete indifference and absolute disengagement from the customer. MPW used to have excellent staff but a cursory visit to The Ivy or Six By Nico nearby will rapidly highlight just how superior the customer experience is there. What a shame...
PS not MPW's fault of course but a subsequent £9.30 car parking fee for just over two hours parking whilst in the restaurant really doesn't enhance the overall experience.

Attended the Birmingham restaurant for…Christmas day meal

Attended the Birmingham restaurant for Christmas Day 2024 & has the worst treatment ever. Having paid nearly £100 per head & there was 12 of us. We arrived for our sitting at 5pm & were told we had 3 hours, however by 6pm they turned the music off & closed the bar. They then tried to rush us through the remainder of our meal. We were asked to leave at 7pm. What accept a booking for 5 if we are told to leave after 2 hours? The reason I am writing this now a year later is because we have followed through with a complaint several times & have not been acknowledged by anyone. Having spent ove £1k for 12 meals we deserved some acknowledgment to our complaint but nothing from a “so called” well establishment. Disappointed is an understatement.

Shocking

Let's make this short and to the point.
Shocking, appalling avoid at all cost.
This was bought as a Christmas present from my son via the Vigin red letter day.
On arrival coats were taken then seemed to be confusion as to our booking.
Taken to our table and sat given menus then waiter disappeared.
Struggled to get our drinks order taken.
The five course menu not explained, finally drinks were served and order taken.
1st and 2nd course mear canapés.smoked salmon ok but beetroot tasteless and no dressing or even seasoned.
3rd course the ham hock terrine was acceptable, my partner had the mackerel pate, and what a shock LARGE LONG BLACK HAIR in the food...... on finally getting the attention of the head waiter removed the plate to the kitchen, and that was it !!!!! No feedback or any apology in any way at all. After this we were avoided and struggled to get any service at all. To the point that empty glasses and crockery left on table for long periods of time.
Steak main was far from the quality I would expect from a restaurant of this supposed standard to the extent ive had better ribeye steak in a fish and chip shop on Whitby docks !!!.
As for £8.50 per side order to go with your main this is not the deal they advertise.
Having finally managing to get our bill, nothing done to compensate for the hair in the food at all.
In total service shocking.
Quality of food poor at the best.
Value for money very poor.
My advise STAY AWAY dine here at your perral.

Potential!

Visiting this restaurant for the first time, I found the food to be quite good.
However, the overall experience was dampened by poor service.
Despite having an appointment, we were left waiting longer than expected without clear communication about the delay. When I asked the staff about the wait time, their response lacked basic courtesy, which was disappointing.
While the quality of the dishes shows promise, the service side definitely needs improvement to match the food experience.
For anyone considering a visit, I’d recommend being prepared for potential delays and hoping for a friendlier approach from the staff.

Level 25 with beautiful views but…

Level 25 with beautiful views but honestly it’s old out dated and your local pub will give you the same menu.
Prawn cocktail defo was from Lidl (no offence to lidi)
Steak for mains and as my mother would said “ a child would cook it better”
The DJ had good tunes on arrival but sweet lord he must have had a can a red bull and he thought he was in a 2 for 1 Bar.
Our waitress was very pleasant but keep you hard earn cash and maybe fly to the Dublin for a proper experience of good food.

We visited the Steakhouse

We visited the Steakhouse. The staff did not bother to take our coats. The cocktails tasted like water. The steak was tough and bland and without seasoning. The smoked salmon was awful. The drinks were massively overpriced. The service was rushed. All in all an awful experience.

Marco Pierre White's Steakhouse Middlesex Street

I bought this Virgin Experience around a year ago as a treat for myself and my three friends, three of us from Oxford and one from Brighton, we paid approximately £100 in Travel expenses to get to Marco Pierre White's Steakhouse in Middlesex Street for 7.15 for our booking at 7.45 pm.
My Brighton friend would need to be done by 10 pm to have time to get to London bridge Station to get back to Brighton.
As the restaurant made it clear we would only have a 2 hour window till 9.45 pm All would be fine,............... So I thought !

As we approached the Restaurant in Middlesex Street it was freezing cold and we couldn't wait to get in to the warm with a welcoming hello from The Maitre'd ! WRONG!!!!!!!
We essentially walked into what felt like a Cattle Truck, rammed with red faced customers crammed into the cloakroom and toilet entrance,Most had been waiting for at least 45 mins to an hour beyond there table booking time, and Most if not all were Virgin Experience Customer's ! So now I'm thinking Has Marco Pierre White been anywhere near This Place EVER !!!!!!!!!
Because if he has he should be Ashamed to put his name to such a shambolic establishment !
The staff were clearly under enormous pressure, and were running around like headless chicken's and doing Nothing!
Including the Pale broken Assistant Manager Ivan,who despite being under immense pressure also seemed completely indifferent to me.
Eventually a girl behind the cloakroom counter took My name and confirmed my booking and said our table would be some time and to wait in the crush with the other Virgin Experience Customer's,as there was nowhere else to wait due to the over overcrowding of the tables for diners ,
By 8.10 pm We were finally Seated, but No order was taken for our drinks or even offered Tap Water! As we all have conditions due to Cancer treatments, One of my friends has constant dry mouth,due to immuno therapy some time ago, this can be very unpleasant for him!
We sat and waited for 30 mins chatting and looking around ,the atmosphere seemed Sad, Untrained Staff unable to deal with the pressure of a full restaurant with no backup From Management, with miserable and angry Customers all around Us., I was getting worried this was my special treat for my dearest friends who all have had a miserable year,to cheer them up and Make them feel Special.
By 9 pm we managed to get the attention of the Assistant Manager,to get water for my friend with dry mouth,as it was right beside him, he promptly walked off sending a waiter to give it to us rudely pretending not to understand me !
Eventually the waiter told us that he wasn't sure how long we would have to wait to be served, and that we would have to sit and wait!
By 9.30 pm It was becoming obvious that we were not going to be served and as one of my guests retired ,from Management and training in Elite Dining His Entire 40 year Career Starting in the Kitchen with Raymond Blanc!
He knew the possible outcome!
So by this point I decided that the only option was to call it a complete Disaster, I felt extremly let down by Virgin Experience,As a long time Neighbour and local friend of Sir Richard Branson in Oxford, I would never mention this personally, because I would hate to embarrass him The way we have been By The Restaurant and Virgin Experience!
I spoke with The Assistant Manager Ivan that this was unacceptable and that we were leaving as we no longer had time to wait, he did not apologise but Rudely put His Christian name on a ragged bit of till roll in Scribble,as proof that the Restaurant had not fulfilled it's obligation! I then asked what I do with it and was told ring the reservations dept to arrange another Day, I then insisted he write his Surname on it to, which he did grudgingly.
We then left, All we had all Day in the freezing cold was coffee earlier and Tap water At Marco Pierre White's Steakhouse.
As we left ,A disabled Woman and her husband were waiting for staff to help her down the steps in her wheelchair, this had been pre arranged, I stayed with her whilst her husband went to see why they had been left waiting in the freezing cold, I stayed with her for 15 mins , Her husband came out and still no help, this was a special wedding anniversary for the two of them, and the poor woman with cerebral palsy was left stranded outside!
As we had to wave our friend off to Brighton,The remaining three of us were starving we found a McDonald's in Liverpool Street Station 10pm and ordered our food which after a 15 min wait arrived piping hot with a very friendly staff doing an amazing job, Marco Pierre White's Steakhouse should Beg McDonald's to train their Staff to their High Standard 5* Service and Quality of Food, Sadly no seating ate on freezing Platform!!!
Virgin Experience !
Virgin Catastrophe/Humiliation !.
I will Now wait to hear From Virgin Experience.!

Went to the Marco Pierre White…

Went to the Marco Pierre White Steakhouse in London to celebrate my wife’s birthday, and the experience was extremely disappointing. I had booked a table at the Angel & King’s Cross branch for 11 November at 5:45pm using a meal voucher, and even received both a confirmation email and a reminder.

When we arrived, we were told there was no record of our booking, and staff insisted it was actually at their Middlesex Street branch. We then had to travel there by tube and walk in the rain, only to be told again that they also had no booking for us.

Thankfully, the manager at Middlesex Street was helpful and managed to fit us in after a short wait, and the meal itself was good — but this doesn’t excuse the stress, confusion, and inconvenience caused on what was supposed to be a special occasion.

To make things worse, I wrote a formal complaint letter to MPW, and it has been over a week with no response at all. For a restaurant carrying Marco Pierre White’s name, I expected much better organisation and customer care.

Very disappointing overall.

A Very Poor Experience

As a Royal Navy veteran, this visit to London to attend the remembrance events on Saturday and Sunday was partly spoiled by a really poor experience at the Marco Pierre White Steakhouse on Friday (after I was unable to book on Saturday for the supposed '5 course' deal with a Virgin Experience Voucher). The experience was actually awful and Virgin are also guilty of up-selling and representing a false view of many 5 star reviews on their own website.
Just don’t bother is my advice. The booking system is designed to force you into the the a la Carte menu as the 5 course voucher can’t book at the weekend until 48 hrs before. That severely limits the times available!! Although you can book an a la carte meal at any time. the restaurant was full and very noisy - more cafeteria than restaurant!!! It was so noisy I asked to move into the small section where we could hear each other rather than fight to talk over the excessive noise!!
Our waiter George was very pleasant. He took our order for the whole meal including the drinks. We asked for the cocktails included in the deal plus G&Ts with the 2nd/3rd course (which is actually just two canapés!!). Then we wanted a bottle of house red with the main course. the welcome cocktail didnt come straight away but at least we had a bottle of water to drink with the starter until both the cocktails and G&T arrived with the canapes!!
Our waiter was then moved away and a manager took over then it went really bad. We were brought a dessert before the main course then no wine arrived with the main course. The menu was also so limited that we couldn’t order any green veg like beans/ broccoli etc and any side costs £8.50!!
But the brandy snap dessert really did it because it was so hard it was impossible to eat and especially not with the spoon I was offered!! I refused to pay for that and when George came back he at least offered to remove the service charge. George was the only good thing about the whole experience!!

❤️ Our “forever” restaurant ❤️

To celebrate our 1st year wedding anniversary, I booked afternoon tea for me and my wife at Marco Pierre White’s Plymouth restaurant. This was also where we chose to have our evening meal with our guests on our wedding day a year earlier too, post wedding ceremony. It seemed the only place for us to go and celebrate a year on, given that our experience previously was second to none.

The staff are super friendly and helpful, the food is fantastic, the vibe is so relaxing and I would say cosmopolitan, all in all a very, very enjoyable and comfortable experience on both occasions. I have to add that the view from Plymouths restaurant is breath taking and that really does add to the experience.

Not what you think !!

Went to the Marco Pierre White Steakhouse in Birmingham and booked a window seat.
The place was noisy with totally inappropriate music for such a place.
Napkins were dirty before we started
Service was slow
Asked for a desert menu, but it hadn't turned up after 15 mins, so it was go get through bill, pay and leave.
In a nutshell, Weatherspoons with a view.
And an expensive one at that.....
