So slick and easy
From start to finish, from application to payment the process was so quick and easy. It probably took less than 10 minutes to apply, be accepted and payment into my account. Such a slick easy process. I was extremely impressed.

Amazing company
First, this is an amazing company. I never thought I would be able to get another loan. My credit rating is good; I have a few credit cards and loans, and I have never missed a payment on any of my creditors. What I really like about this company is that they looked at the person and not just a score. They are amazingly quick. I am so happy with this company and look forward to doing business again. “Triple Lock guaranteed” and approved… then declined after the fact.
Absolutely terrible experience with Oakbrook Loans.
The loan was advertised to me through ClearScore as 100% eligible and Triple Lock guaranteed. I applied on that basis, went through the process and Oakbrook carried out a hard search on my credit file.
I then received an email explicitly stating:
“Your loan has been approved.”
Despite that, the following working day I was suddenly told:
“We can't offer you a loan today.”
So what exactly was guaranteed?
I passed the affordability checks. I was shown a Triple Lock guaranteed offer. I was told in writing that the loan had been approved. They performed a hard credit search. And after all of that, I ended up with no loan and a hard search on my credit file.
If there were additional checks that could still result in the loan being declined, it should never have been presented as guaranteed or confirmed as approved.
What makes this even worse is that if you search through the reviews, you'll see other customers describing similar experiences. I really wish I'd searched and read those reviews before applying.
I would never have proceeded with a hard credit check had I known that an apparently guaranteed and subsequently “approved” loan could simply be withdrawn afterwards.
A dreadful experience. I’ll now be making a formal complaint about both the way the loan was presented and what happened after I applied.
