Good note taking app. Like that you can easily link notes and you can skip doing folder grouping

Nice software to create your very own personal wiki. You have to know markdown and its syntax to be able to use it effectively, but that's easy to learn.

Game changer. I don't usually recommend non-FOSS apps, but Obsidian is probably the best note-taking option out there.

After trying dozens of note-taking apps, I have finally found home. Obsidian is just so good, it does exactly what I want. And since it's completely customizable, I can always change stuff if my needs change.

I sleep well knowing that all files are stored locally on my devices and that even if all data centers in the world burned down, I'd still have access to them.

It's also great with an active dev community, all building interesting integrations. For example, Obsidian had chatGPT integration long before Notion or any of the competitors.

I learned about Obsidian a few months ago while searching for a productivity program but found something even better: a program to write creatively and connect the knowledge using direct links, similar to how we connect experiences and concepts in our brains.

After studying for a bit how it works, I arrived at the conclusion that it's deeply useful for some specific tasks but there are alternatives for others.

Regarding what I use it for, it is to write my master's degree dissertation, while keeping in mind how all the information is connected and also writing a book about my experiences on the Camino de Santiago in Spain.

I would say that it's not a program for everyone, but for the ones that can and will use it, it's amazing at what it does: enabling creative freedom and making connections between information.
