An excellent service all round

An excellent service all round. I sent my RGT jacket to be re waxed and the team did such an amazing job it came back like new. Thank you to all the team, highly recommend, great service, great quality and great value for money

Amazing service and a fantastic company.

My father passed away a couple of years ago and my mother wanted his Barbour jacket restored.

She couldn’t have been happier with the quality of the restoration and wears his jacket everyday.

Not waterproof any more.

Sent my jacket in for a pocket repair, clean and rewax. Took longer than expected (5 weeks), but came back this Christmas eve 2025 like new. I was very pleased. However, wore it out in January in light rain, for about 1 hour and the rain has came through the shoulders and back. It did'nt do this before I sent it in. I did send an email about this but never recieved any message back after 2 weeks. Sent another email asking about this 2 weeks ago and still no answer. Sending another email today 20th February 2026.

I Can't thank the team for not only doing a great job but all the help with postage and service. Thay really know how to look after customers new and old.

Amazing company!

Really great company. Communication was excellent throughout and everything was handled clearly and efficiently over email.

They lengthened the sleeves on my Barbour jacket, which has completely transformed it. It went from being something I barely wore to a jacket that’s now in constant rotation — I wear it all the time.

The workmanship is spot on and the whole process felt straightforward and professional from start to finish. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again, and for anything Barbour- or jacket-related in the future, Oily Jack will be my first point of contact.

Highly recommended.

Poor communication, still waiting to arrange pick up, no replies

I saw the reviews here and decided to go for it and book a clean and re-wax for a coat. It’s been about a week now, they’ve sent two emails asking for details, both of which I have replied within a couple of hours. I have even sent a separate email with the information to the contact email provided here.

Unfortunately, I was too cocky and ignored the bad reviews, thinking it would not happen to me, but can now confirm communication is terrible. At best, it is their email server being faulty, or overly cautious sending things to spam, or at worse their team is not good at actually pick up their emails. Either way can confirm their communication is not good.

Really dissapointed, and will now have to see if I can get my money back.

Like I said in my review above I did reply to both emails. They are now blaming me for inputting “the wrong email”, nonsense, and a bit gaslighty. I used to think the communication problems were just IT based, but the reply to this review makes me doubt it, as it proves it the concerns I raised were not carefully read or considered.

I have also been notified by the review company that Oily Jack tried to report my review as defamatory, so who knows how many other costumers have not been able to express their true experience with them.

We sincerely thank you for getting in touch and for sharing your experience. Please accept our apologies for what is clearly a breakdown in communication on this occasion. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention and would like to clarify what our system is currently showing.
An initial email was sent to you on 8 January (the date of your order) titled “Thank You for Your Order – Jacket Collection Details Required.” This email is our booking-in form, which requests your jacket details for insurance purposes, along with your preferred collection day so that our team can arrange the courier.
As we did not receive a response, the same request was resent on Sunday 11 January (three days after the order). Unfortunately, our system does not show a reply to either email.
If you would be willing to provide your email address via the Trustpilot review process, we would like to verify that the correct email was entered at checkout, as this may explain why our communications have not reached you.
As it has only been seven days since your order, we would very much like the opportunity to proceed with the work on your jacket once communication is restored. Of course, we would deduct these seven days from our current turnaround time of 18 working days for a wash and wax.
At Oily Jack, we pride ourselves on both our craftsmanship and our communication. We understand that this has been a disappointing experience for you and, equally, for us. We genuinely hope to resolve this promptly and give you the same positive experience that the rest of our community and customers enjoy.

The process has brought my old jacket back to life

My queries about the best treatments for my jacket were very promptly answered. The jacket is over 30 years old, and had never been previously cleaned.
I elected to have an enzyme clean and rewax/proof and sent my jacket off.
When it was returned the lining had lost its grubby look and looked very smart, and the jacket exterior had regained a lot of its original colour but had not lost its ‘worn in’ charm.
Well done Oily Jack.

Refreshed and renewed

My very tired old wax jacket got stitched up and rewaxed - Oily Jacks did a great job. It isn’t fast so plan ahead (ie. Get it done in the summer), but worth the wait.
