A Few Reasons I will be searching for…
A Few Reasons I will be searching for another platform.
1) Numerous times after purchasing a vehicle I arrived at said location and vehicle is not there. Had to travel to another destination to get it.
2) Purchased a vehicle and when arrived to pick it up I was told it was sold and they no longer have it. The "sorry" I was told from Openlane and $200 did not compensate the 4 hour roundtrip drive, wasted my day and my drivers day, made my customer very unhappy, and the potential business I could have accomplished had I been at work.
3) Their "As Described Guarantee" doesn't cover unannounced prior paint, check engine lights, blowed out tire, dead battery, oil leaks of any kind, any electrical malfunctions, missing trim pieces, im sorry but what does it cover ? Instead of honoring their warranty they say "in good faith here's $500 credit" which that will cover a battery and a tire and i still have to track down oil leak, have entire vehicle sanded and clear coated, check engine light checked out, low coolant light checked, traction control light checked, air suspension is shot doesnt work at all but hey heres $500 to help with the $5000 undisclosed misrepresented vehicle we scammed you into buying by saying trust our "as described guarantee". No more purchases from this guy. Cant afford to lose my a$$ like this again.
Do not use this company they should be out of business.
If I could give this company a negative million score I would. They completely wasted two full days of my life while I waited for an inspection and they never showed up. They told me the inspector called me, and that I wasn’t there, which is a complete lie. No call while on the way , no call while waiting during my window. Then rescheduled and they called out sick. This company sucks and they should be out of business and held liable.
OPENLANE sold me a car with shot transmisdion
Purchased a car from OPENLANE and in description it said driven and shifted through third gear with no issues. I also paid extra for a warranty. The car was delivered to my lot and only had first gear barely. It had no transmission fluid in it at all. Their arbitrator was a complete jerk. The transmission is $4426.27 installed. They said they will pay $1900, not sure what they base that number on. I WOULD NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER CAR FROM THESE BACKLOT CROOKS.
Office staff are great, shuttle service is not.
Office staff are great. However, it appears they have reduced the shuttles to a single one and today, they only accepted one vehicle stock number at a time with 7 of us in the shuttle. This saw the driver go all over the property even though some vehicles were in the same area. It used to take about 15 mins to get the vehicle and now its often 40 mins to an hour. Very inefficient and costly to dealers. Arguments break out as to who is next to find vehicle as we are all waisting time. This is at the Brampton location.
nastiest place to purchase car do not…
nastiest place to purchase car do not even try that as dealer! Arbitrator team is worse. they do not give ... about your money

They are denying our application because former dealer on same address had some issue with them!! bad customer service , no explanation at all and rude!!

I have the same problem as everyone on here. I have bought several cars on their online platform. We just bout a Ram 2500 truck with a 5.0 Condition grade and it said the frame had a green check mark and guaranteed to be as described. The truck is eat up with rust and someone covered it up with spray paint. You can hit the bed and see the rust fall out from underneath. We tried to arbitrate with no luck. They said unless it has holes in the frame it was not covered. We will definitely not buy another car from them
swindlers
Don't buy any car under any circumstances; 90% of them are painted and technically faulty. Not a single complaint has been satisfied. You can't talk to the claims department by phone, they don't respond to emails, and if they do, they're blatantly lying. I don't recommend anyone do business with them.

Don't deal with open lane I bought a Silverado truck said no issues I went to pick up parts missing off engine and engine was locked up.i made a complaint they locked me out of my account for making a abstraction on the vehicle.then put shipping on vehicle and charged me for shipping and I picked it up and loaded it on my trailer.open lane is a scammer website that needs to be shut down there doing a lot of elegal activities
AUTO PAPERWORK INCOMPETENCE!
My Auto finance company sent all payoff and release of lien paperwork for a lease buyout to Openlane, Mesa AZ in May 2022. Openlane NEVER sent lien release to DMV. I had financed the buyout thru another bank, so didn't realize I had to check on the original release. Only found out when the car was totaled in 10/25 and the original lien for lease was STILL on the title!!! Of course with a zero balance. Openlane NOW wants $$ to correct their mistake and complete INCOMPETENCE!
Trust the 1 star reviews
Trust the 1 star reviews. We own 9 stores in the PNW area and have blacklisted OpenLane for all of our buyers. We work with all major auctions and local wholesalers, yet i have never seen such an unprofessional auction house and arbitration policy, it is downright criminal.
Their inspection reports are flawed to say at the least and fraudulent at best. We purchased two trucks in one week, both green light and paid for their inspection and shipping. One arrived with a check engine light, misfire issues, electronic issues and cosmetic issues; Arbitration said "not covered, thanks for the purchase". The second truck, we waited for 3 weeks to arrive with no updates. After 4 weeks, we started filing serious complaints. Only once we threatened a lawsuit, we were notified that the truck was sold elsewhere and the sale was cancelled, all the while they held our money and were promising delivery. Their resolution was to offer us a discount on the next purchase buyer fees. What a joke.
We have officially blocked all of our stores from buying from this backlot auction.
Personne n'a répondu.
Corrupt platform
Corrupt platform, arbitration policy is designed to favour franchise sellers, do no expect to have any support when buying AS IS vehicles does not matter what year or KM. Instead focus on buying from EBLock, at least they have proper buyer assurance program.
GM should not use Openlane
GM utilizes openlane yet likely has no clue how they function.
Attempted to schedule my end-of-lease insurrection two months before needing to return my car yet no availability. I submitted a request for someone to call me and after a week I called in to schedule. Of course no availability and I would automatically be assigned a date and time. Today my inspection window came and I received a call the no one would be coming and to call back and reschedule. Once again I'm waiting for a new inspection date yet my car is due to be returned in 3 1/2 weeks.
Only great things to say about Openlane.
My experience with Openlane has been wonderful. The vehicles are far more accurately described than the "other" online auction and they actually drive the vehicles. Accurate descriptions are crucial to making an informed purchase and Openlane knows that. In the extremely slight chance that they happen to miss something, they stand behind the vehicle with fast and fair arbitration. My representative, Jason, provides absolutely amazing service and is a true asset. I look forward to continuing to build a strong working relationship with Openlane and its top tier associates.
Openlane absolutely the worst
Openlane absolutely the worst, unprofessional and crooked platform with absolutely no professionalism in long term business. False condition report arbitration system absolutely does not back up any of their green light vehicles. Only fast response you get from them is when payment. All green light vehicle and title issues even after paid is zero help. This cooperation sister company of AFC is also the worst in the market. AVOID at all cost.
Hello Dealers
Hello Dealers
I am a dealer and I would personally request all independent dealers do not buy vehicles from Open Lane. They are defrauding small dealers for inaccurate condition report and fake vehicle engine sound and much more. When you do arbitration they just hangup and you are out of luck.
I recently purchased 3 vehicles from them 1 had rear main seal leaking they did not cover; 2nd vehicle I purchased they cancel the vehicle after 10 days and took my money from my account. 3rd vehicle, I purchased had timing chain issue and so many codes, but they mentioned no codes and vehicle engine gone as soon as I picked from the dealership.
Do not Buy from them. I am hiring an attorney to sue them if someone has same experience please contact me so we could sue them in a group.
Beware: Serious Undisclosed Damage Inspection Reports Cannot Be Trusted Undisclosed Safety Damage and Arbitration are not real they always favor seller never buyers
I want to start by saying that the negative reviews here are not fake. Unfortunately, they are very accurate. I wish I had done my research and read them before ever doing business with Openlane.
We purchased a 2019 GMC Acadia believing we could trust their inspection process. You absolutely cannot. The inspection report marked everything as good, yet we received the vehicle needing over $2,000 in repairs. The inspection failed to disclose something extremely serious: a bullet hole in the driver-side door that was covered with black tape.
As buyers, we pay for these inspections because we are trusting them to be our eyes and ears. Instead, it feels like the inspectors work more for the sellers than for the buyers.
The arbitration process was also a complete joke. Our case was closed in less than five minutes, without properly addressing the undisclosed safety damage. There was no real investigation or accountability.
I will never buy from Openlane again. I will be sticking with Manheim, where sellers are actually held accountable for concealing vehicle conditions. If there is ever a class action lawsuit, I would absolutely join it. At this point, I am also exploring legal options to recover my losses.
Buyers beware. Do your research before trusting Openlane with your money.
This company is an absolute…
This company is an absolute disappointment. During the phone interview, the recruiter acted as if their organization were some kind of world‑class operation, lecturing me about work ethic while claiming they desperately needed new employees. Yet after that conversation, they completely vanished — no response, not even after I followed up. Before preaching to others, they should fix their own professionalism and learn how to treat people with basic respect.
Misleading Sale & Joke of an Arbitration Process
OPENLANE sold us a 2021 Hyundai Palisade with undisclosed structural damage. This was not announced, not disclosed, and not flagged anywhere in the listing. We only discovered it after the purchase, when the vehicle was already in our possession. Their arbitration process is a complete joke. It was unprofessional, dismissive, and clearly designed to protect the auction and the seller rather than the buyer. There was zero accountability for a major defect that should never be missed or hidden. This was not a minor oversight. It cost us time, money, and trust. Do not buy from OPENLANE.
