How do they stay in business?
Sent wrong part. when I called the part manufacturer they gave me the correct part #. When I called "customer service" I was on hold for 20 minutes. When the rep finally answered the phone he asked for the original order #. Looking through the only correspondence they sent me I couldn't find an order #. (It turned out to be in the subject line of the email.) Rather than tell me this the guy just hung up. After finding the order # I called back and after another 25 minute wait I got the same rude guy (although he told me it wasn't him) and he proceeded to tell me it was my fault for ordering the wrong part. I ordered the part they had listed for this particular car! I own an a small repair shop and PG parts are often priced lower than places but it just isn't worth the hassle.
Bad Partsgeeks
This is the worse online shopping experience I ever had. I ordered a tail light for my car, immediately upon delivery, I opened up the box and found it to be completely different than what I ordered. I looked for a phone number to call and report the error but there isn't one clearly marked on the website or email. There were instructions to submit a ticket, it was down all day. Finally, when it was up and running I submitted my complaint. I included a screenshot of the product I ordered from the website and a photo of what came in the box. Please note the box wasn't sealed properly nor included an invoice. I was worried the correct product fell out!
In response, the company stated they shipped the right part, and the picture wasn't a representation. I was to read the notes on the side. The pictured tail light was the outer portion of the tail light. They sent me the inner. This company is shady. There are a lot of fine prints. I have lost money because they shipped me the wrong part, and I am paying $20 to send it back. That makes $30 in total for shipping. The least they could have done was to pay for return shipping instead they are pretty defiant and feel that its ethical to falsely advertise to consumers.
I am writing to prevent other people from doing business with PartsGeek, please support other businesses. This was a waste of time and money.
Generally ok, unless you need to return something!!
I have bought several parts through PartsGeek and in general have had good experiences. Notwithstanding, recently I had a much different experience! I purchased an engine part that arrived on-time in a box that looked a little "beaten up" in the sense it had grease marks on it & looked to have been shipped once prior. Upon opening, we immediately noticed the "installation kit" was missing, so we couldn't install the part without locally tracking down (and buying) all hardware needed. MAJOR setback in repair time.
More distrurbing, however, was the fact closer examination revealed this part appeared to have been INSTALLED PREVIOUSLY on another vehicle and was shipped to me as "new". (The missing installation kit now made perfect sense.) I guess this could be an honest mistake. I promptly e-mailed PartGeek and the acknowledgement response came two (2) days later (car still down), saying they would get in touch with me . Two (2) days after that came a request for photos of the subject part and shipping box (car still down). Pics were sent almost immediately, and a day later I received another acknowlegement saying they'll get back to me in 24 to 48 hrs (car still down). Five (5) days later PartsGeek finally responded saying they were "contacting the warehouse for a call tag" (prepaid return label) so I could return the part. (Car still down - no refund - no replacement part policy.) In desperation, we order a replacement part from a competitor, and to our delight, it's actually cheaper in price! Now, the waiting game. One whole week goes by with no word whatsoever. Finally, I decide to contest the charge on my credit card and boom! PartsGeek responds to them and I immediately get my return label. The part is return-shipped and I'm still awaiting a refund. The entire timetable will be at least one (1) month for the return and refund credit, IF it goes through. Otherwise, it's back to the credit card contested charge procedure.
Bad part, costly shipping, no customer service, no way to cure faulty part except to spend more money.
I purchased a starter to replace old one that was going bad. I received the starter in a timely fashion. I installed it and the balance of that day it was ok. The next day it started acting like the one I replaced. It would start to turn motor, bind, then continued to turn motor for start. That was why I replaced the old starter. I do not want my wife stranded due to this problem thinking I fixed it. I opened a customer ticket but the car is now going to be questionable when it is used. From what I understand it is going to cost me to ship faulty one back, pay for the trade to be shipped back to me. If you want your issue fixed only once DO NOT get your parts from partsgeek, I am a first time customer and the last time to use them unless they can come up with a cure to this, meaning they pay for all shipping costs and issue replacement starter but I still would not do further business with them. I would not refer anyone to do business with them. Keep your money with a business that cares about its customers. BEWARE!!!!!!!
Great service
Everything fit an matched up perfectly. Very happy with them.
Bad customer service
I ordered a radiator from parts geek.com and they sent the wrong radiator with the right part number on the box . After emailing them and calling them they will not cover the shipping coast for their mistakes and they were rude on the phone.
They are a company that noes care about its customers does not want to try and with their customers.
I can not recommend this company to anyone the only thing I can recommend is run a way far a way parts geek.com
Great Product
Great products with good price and fast shipping.
Very poor customer service !!!
I got my parts correctly. Great. When I called to get an Return Authorization for the return of my core power steering pump I was put on hold 3 times. Wasted 35 minutes waiting for what should have been a 2 minute transaction. The first phone call was picked up but then deliberately hung up on by a dude in PartsGeek after waiting 13 just to get a live person on the line.
This will be my once ever business with PartsGeek. RockAuto and AMauto have real professional and courteous telephone customer service people wanting to help customers and receive repeat sales!!!
PartsGeek never again!!!
STAY AWAY!! RIPOFFS!!
Not even worth one star! Ordered rotors and pads for four wheels. Said the order would ship within a day! 3 days later order still didn't ship. Tried to call them and let them know I would not be at the shipping location as a result of the delayed shipping and that I needed to have them shipped to another address.
Each time I would call I was put on hold and no one ever picked up! Finally after two days of this, someone picked up and I told them I needed the items shipped to another address and he put me on hold only to hang up on me!!!
Needless to say the items were shipped in two different fed ex shipments to the address I was not going to be at. One shipment was delivered but no one was there and the other is still lost!!!
They sent me an email asking me for a review so I filled it out but can't find it anywhere! So I decided to review it here where i know it will be seen...!!
They're the WORST!! STAY AWAY! AMEX will have to deal with them now!
Good prices, timely delivery, and parts still working well. Would use again!
I ordered some replacement parts for my toyota Prius back in February. I am just writing this review now as it has been well over 6 months and I still haven't had any problems with the parts. All I can say about partsgeeks.com is that they had the best price around and they shipped the parts in a timely manner. I will definitely be using them again when I need a part in the future. Thanks again Partsgeeks.com.
You will get screwed !
Stay away from this company. ...you will loose money that you think your saving ! No money returned , no 30 day money back , no contact with custumer service.
Should Improve quick customer Feedback
I have some problems according to my order, i've sent two e mails to get a reply from them.but they deliver goods as they promised !
These guys are crooks!!!
I ordered 3 parts, all of which their website said they had on hand- a control arm, a pair of bushings, and a bolt kit. They e-mailed me that the bushings were not available, and they were refunding the money for it (without asking me if I wanted the exact same bushings in black which they had in stock, as opposed to the red I ordered). Instead they told me I would have to separately order the black ones and pay another shipping fee!
Then when the package finally came, all it had in it was the control arm! No bolt kit. Their packing list even said "Will call" instead of "Quantity shipped-1" like it did for the control arm.
I contacted their "Customer Service". Not! Seriously, to my complaint that they had not shipped a BOLT KIT that had it's own part number and that I paid extra for, they replied (and this is copied from their response with no changes): We do not sell hardware or have the ability to send missing pieces. If you are missing hardware from a part (e.g., missing gaskets, clamps, bolts, screws etc...) you can either return the entire part or purchase the hardware locally. If you are missing a crucial part to a kit, the entire kit must be returned. We cannot break up another kit to replace missing items.
They must be hiring brain damaged people. Seriously! Then I finally got someone who said they were "investigating the loss." Really. For 6 months. Still no refund.
Don't use these people. They are a ripoff!!! They charge you multiple shipping charges, then don't send your parts, and don't refund you for them.
STAY FAR AWAY!!!
parts geek is a plague
If you order anything from this company you are asking for trouble and will have to fight and argue for your money back if you can even get it back . If your desperate enough to have to try this company use your credit card so you can dispute you charge . I wish I did my homework and saw these reviews before I was desperate enough to try them . They have 430 $ of my money right now .
ordered my parts got to my house in two days.
I have a 1988 furoshiki its hard to find parts for parts keek always has them cheap price is very fast shipment I'll be by in stuff from these guys for a long time
FOLLOW UP for Do not Return a Part
After several heated e mails (on my part) PartsGeek came through and refunded my entire order. I still believe it would better serve them to talk to their customers rather than just by e-mail, but I am old school.
Not worth doing business with PartsGeek.
After ordering a part, communication at best did not exist, had to wait 3+ days for a response. Never received the part.
It took 1.5 month to complete the refund.
In addition PartsGeek had the audacity to with held the shipping charges.
After all the error was not mine.
Avoid PartsGeek as the plague.
Horrible exerience
Do not use these dudes, they are very bad people.
Horrible Experience for Canadian Buyers
My experience has been borrible for as a Canadian purchaser, Partsgeeks dont accept paypal, CDN credit card but just USD money order or bank draft. Problem is that they will hold it for 20 days before releasing the purchase order. Very bad for canadian customers
