We had to say goodbye to our lovely little Khiana after 17 wonderful years, and this was the hardest decision we’ve ever had to make. I always knew I’d say goodbye at home - couldn’t bear to take her in to a vets and leave without her. I however hadn’t done any research prior to her being so unwell as it was a decision we had to make sooner than expect (the next day) and we didn’t know anything about home euthanasia available in the Leeds / West Yorkshire area. I’d called our own vet but they didn’t have enough staff to come out. I reached out to a few places first thing that morning, Paws at Peace were one I contacted.

From the very first WhatsApp voice message after I’d enquired early morning to Abi the vet coming out early afternoon - the kindness, patience and compassion we received made an unbearable situation feel just a little more manageable. Nothing ever felt rushed by Abi, and every question was answered with care and understanding. Abi said she spends her days surrounded with love which made me realise it was with love what we did in spite of hard it was.

Paws at peace also supported us by putting us in contact with a pet crematorium in Leeds (who only do individual cremations - again this was something non negotiable for me). Something I’d also done no research on I was so grateful they connected us with Tony at Beyond the Rainbow who arrived after Abi left. The whole process was so smooth (which sounds strange to say but was so important when you’re feeling overwhelmed with sadness)

On the day, Khiana was treated with such dignity, gentleness and respect and was so compassionate - we were supported throughout, and it was clear how deeply Abi and the team care not just about our beloved pets, but about the people who love them.

We will always be grateful for the calm, compassionate way Abi helped our beautiful girl pass peacefully. Thank you for making such a heartbreaking moment as gentle as it could possibly be.

The staff were very supportive and comforting. Provided compassionate service, and helped us through the process. Very good communication and checked on us the next couple of days, and reassured me can contact them any time if needing support.

On the 23rd December we said goodbye to our beautiful Staffy Luna she was 13. Having never been in this position before I knew I wanted her at home. Paws at peace from my first call to my last have been compassionate, supportive, understanding. You can tell they genuinely care. The amount of little touches they provide you with after it takes place shows true care and consideration for the after effects of losing a companion. I cannot recommend enough.

Kim came to the house she was considerate and explained everything a slow pace she never rushed anything allowing us time to ask questions and say goodbye. Her aftercare has been lovely too. It oozes from her that she loves what she does because it’s the last kindness you can give to your beloved pet.

When the time comes again for us to get another dog, and that dreaded time inevitably comes I will be in no doubt who to turn to.

I cannot recommend enough Sam, Kim and the team at Paws at peace. They were so supportive in phone calls to make the right decision on how and when to let our katkat pass away. We changed dates and plans a couple of times and they were always accommodating. On the day Kim was able to respond quickly to our declining katkat. We will always be so grateful to do this at home where katkat was safe and happy. They were so thoughtful and caring to him and sorted out the crematorium pick up as well. We can't thank them enough for their service and help in such a difficult time.

Abbie attended Dexter (our beloved dog) when we had to say goodbye to him. At 15 years old Dexter's body was no longer supporting him. Letting him go at home was simply the best way possible to say goodbye. He was surrounded by his family...familiar sights and smells. It was truly a peaceful passing. Abbie was so kind and considerate...explaining everything beforehand. We had all the time we wanted with Dexter. Wasn’t sure how we were going to deal with saying goodbye to our beloved Izzy, but Kim and the team made a massive difference when dealing with the whole experience. From the initial contact to the day we said goodbye to Izzy and the days afterwards they were professional, whilst maintaining compassion and a genuine feeling that they were with you every step of the way. On the day, Kim explained everything and ensured that everything was done at our pace ensuring Izzy got the calm, loving and peaceful stress-free send off she deserved.

Paws at peace are truly the most compassionate team, I can't express my gratitude enough at a very difficult and sad time for me and my son when it was time to let our beloved little dog Oscar go. They came to my home and explained everything with us, but with the most caring professionalism, thank you team, forever grateful

What a great company to deal with, Sam, Kim and Kate are the absolute pinnacle of perfection when it comes to your needs at a very emotional and demanding time in life. Nothing is to much trouble and they take the service they provide to the very highest of standards. When our beloved Takara was taken ill and had to be euthanised at home we could not have been taken better care of by any body, this team ranks as the best service we have ever received.

We had to make the very hard decision to have our beloved dog jet put to sleep. From the first contact with kim everything was explained she was very compassionate and there was no rush . She came to our house and made sure not only jet but our family was looked after. Would highly recommend her she made us all feel special. Even our other dogs being able to say there goodbyes.

On what was the worst experience for any pet lover paws at peace where amazing.kind considerate and caring.KIM is a lovely lady full of compassion and care.

Having to say goodbye to a beloved pet is a stressful and very sad ordeal. I can't imagine anybody doing more than Paws at Peace to mitigate the experience of that process. When we had to make that choice for our 22 year old cat Freddy, Kim returned our call promptly at the designated time. She was totally understanding and explained the process fully and empathetically. Abi called on us to release Freddy peacefully from his declining quality of life. She proceeded calmly and caringly to put Freddy at ease and he never suffered any anxiety or stress. Nothing was too much trouble and no time pressure was put on us. Freddy passed away peacefully and this helped us greatly.

We recently had to say goodbye to our much-loved dog, Millie, and the team at Paws At Peace were simply wonderful. From start to finish, they showed incredible compassion, understanding, and care during such a difficult time.
A special mention to Sam and Kim, who were so kind and gentle throughout. Their support made an emotional experience so much more bearable. They offer a brilliant service and deliver it exactly as needed, with empathy and professionalism.
We are truly grateful and would highly recommend Paws At Peace to anyone who wants their beloved pet treated with dignity and love. Five stars without hesitation!

I can’t thank Kim at Paws at Peace enough for the kindness and compassion shown to me during such a difficult time.
From the very beginning, Kim kept me fully informed and made sure i understood every step of the process. She gave me all the time i needed to say goodbye it was a late night call and even said she could wait all night me to say i was ready for Bobby to go.

Thanks to Kim, Bobby was able to be put to sleep peacefully and with dignity, in his own home, surrounded by his family without the stress of going to the vets. I would highly recommend Paws at Peace to anyone facing the heartbreaking decision to say goodbye to a much loved pet. A difficult review to write, but Paws at Peace are so kind, we want others to know it. We've had a devastating year losing 5 of our beloved rabbits, luckily we learned of Paws at #3, the team were incredibly patient and compassionate, Kim helped our sweet Ella pass peacefully. When it came to say goodbye to a bonded pair of 12 years at short notice, Abi helped them pass side by side with dignity and surrounded by love.

There are no awkward moments, there is no feeling that it is a transaction, there is only understanding, patience and support, with beautiful follow up messages and letters to check in. A company and a team of amazing people who help our worst days go a little easier. I cannot recommend Paws at Peace more highly.

Compassionate and professional service. Abi came out to visit us at a really difficult and emotional time. Whilst the loss of our much loved dog, Saffie, was heartbreaking, it was peaceful and handled with professional care, at home. This saved us a traumatic visit to the vet which we know would have upset Saffie.

We had so much sadness and heartbreak when we had to let go of our Trixie.
She was such a beautiful part of our family. Unfortunetaly at age 15 and failing health we made the hard decision to let her go. My husband reached out to Paws at Peace and we had such a kind and gently lady by the name of Kim attend our home, she helped us all through the process , there was no feeling of being rushed , just in our time and when we were ready to say goodbuy.
The communcation from the first call to the aftercare has been absolutely amazing... from messages to check in to see how we all are... if we had any questions.... to having a wonderfull card sent out to us with kind wishes...

I cannot fault Paws at Peace such a wonderful team... i would wholeheartedly recommend Kim and the team to anyone who wishes to have a loving family pet be at home to pass.

I couldn’t thank Kim at Paws at Peace enough. From start to finish she made us feel at ease and made our last moments with Frank as special as it could be. It took the stress of going to the vets and made it so comfortable at home. Kim explained everything and arranged for Seaham Crematorium to take over. It was last minute due to our dogs health deteriorating and Kim rang me late on the night and made sure we were looked after and had an appointment the following day. Thank you so much for everything, I would 1000% recommend Paws at Peace to anyone and have already mentioned it to friends and family. Kim really goes above and beyond and we are so grateful for everything. The thoughtfulness, even sending messages afterwards as additional support and a card, it’s the little things ❤️

On the 1st November we had to say goodbye to our much loved Labrador Ollie. We cannot praise Kim and the team enough. Kim explained everything that would happen and how Ollie would react . It made what was such tough day so much better. Everyone who loved him got to say their goodbyes. I think what stuck most in my mind were Kim’s words “ he had good life and deserved a kind death” and it was. Many Thanks to Kim and the team.

We couldn’t have received a better service from Paws at Peace.
Our beautiful Labrador, Harry was put to rest in his own home, in his own bed, with his brother beside him and surrounded by his loved ones.
It is a personal and heart wrenching time but Kim was lovely and explained exactly what would happen and how Harry would react to the procedure. Kim did the journey with us, she did not rush us at all, letting us manage the pace. She also arranged the timing of the cremation company, Forget-me-not, to follow shortly after. (They were also so caring, tucking him up in his bed). Such a better experience than going to the vets as we did with our last Labrador.
