Absolute shambles

Update 2: Days later, and despite being told that the issue was a "lone technical problem in [insert city]", and that it had been fixed by their technical staff, I STILL cannot complete a hotel reservation on Rocketmiles. What a surprise. If I could give 0 stars, I would. What a clown show.

Update 1: Sent emails to RocketMiles Concierge, and called as well. Was told that the error had been cleared, went to try and make another reservation and ran into THE EXACT SAME error. On the phone, was told I'd receive an update within the next hour as they are checking with their technical team. Will update as and when that happen, but for right now, the below review is still painfully accurate.

Absolute shambles. I have been trying for the last two days to book a hotel stay with Rocketmiles (primarily due to the fact that I can earn Loyalty Points with American Airlines). Like so many others that have left reviews here, I keep running into an error when I try to checkout. My card gets charged, then immediately refunded.

Rocketmiles concierge email has been no help at all. In fact, they refuse to respond as of the time of writing this review. I will not accept "please book directly with the hotel at this time" as a satisfactory response, as it is NOT a solution to my problem.

I'll be reaching out to American Airlines to ask them to reconsider their partnership with this company, given that this is an issue MULTIPLE people have faced since last year, and there is still no resolution.

Rocketmiles - fix this ASAP.

My account is apparently locked for unknown reason

My account is apparently locked for some reason as I am unable to make any new bookings and keep getting the same error messages (also getting same error on BAAH). It appears a number of others on here have had the same issue... I have spent hours calling to try and get this fixed but the call centers are absolutely no help and just tell me to book direct! That is absolutely annoying. I am a Platinum Pro member and will be requesting that AA reconsider its relationship with this company as it is their only hotel partner and they apparently ban customers for absolutely no reason and offer no help. Please get my account fixed asap!

Got a phone call from Rocketmiles and the agent said that my account was locked due to duplicated names linked to my email. The agent suggested me to send an email to them and have one of my account deleted. I did and they said the whole procedure shall be done within 72 hours. 5 days passes and I am still unable to login with my email and I have no idea if I shall register a new one or keep waiting. Called customer service again and not surprisingly, they had no clues at all.

Miles not deposited

i booked a hotel stay using rocket miles . The offer was an additional 4000 United miles for first booking. I have called Rocketmiles / United , but no miles have been posted. This seems to be a complete SCAM ..

Rocketmiles is a honeypot for fraud. Beware!!

Rocketmiles, as extensively documented elsewhere, does not actually complete hotel reservations. They take all your personal data, which I only provided because of their affiliation with AA, and then return very generic errors. Three days after giving Rocketmiles my credit card number there were several hundred dollars in fraudulent charges attempted. How do I know Rocketmiles is responsible? Well, I used a virtual card number which has only ever been used on their site. That same rocket-miles-only virtual card number was the one used to attempt the fraudulent charges. Beware!

[edit: the below generic reply doesn't address Rocketmiles' misappropriation of personal data. I spoke to their customer service who claims without offering any proof that my bank leaked my one-time-credit-card-number not Rocketmiles.]

We don't have any documentation about a refund, since we never took money out from your account, the charge attempts you mentioned before are only pending charges that fall after the reservation did not confirm. These pending amounts are already reversed and we cannot keep any amount if the reservation did not get confirmed

We apologize for the inconvenience, but in meantime, if you have an urgent booking to create. We kindly suggest you book with the hotel directly or try different platforms.

2/8 update - account was finally unlocked. Still don't understand why it was locked in the first place. Call center agents need to know how to escalate and get this issue resolved.

I JUST CALLED THE NUMBER THEY PROVIDED AND NOW I AM TOLD THAT "WITHOUT A RESERVATION NUMBER WE CAN'T HELP YOU". THEN WHY ARE THEY ASKING FOR MY CONTACT INFO BELOW?? JUST TO SEE IF I AM STUPID ENOUGH TO PUBLISH THE INFO OPENLY ON TRUSTPILOT?!?

I tried to book a hotel on American Airlines website after buying my air ticket. Got an error message saying reservation did not go through, which is pretty typical for American’s website, so I booked my hotel through Booking.com. No issues with Booking.com. The next day I receive a “confirmation” email from American Airlines for my hotel reservation they said couldn’t be processed and now they REFUSE to refund my $557 since I booked and used my reservation for the very same dates at the very same hotel through Booking.com. Good luck trying to get help from these liars and thieves, whether by phone or email. These people are dishonest, because they refuse to acknowledge that it was their website saying the reservation couldn’t be processed that caused me to book the same thing on Booking.com, and then when Bookkng.com finally got someone at American to speak to me about this, American starts blaming their refusal to give me a refund on the hotel itself. You may be stuck using American Airlines to fly, but NEVER EVER BOOK A HOTEL OR CAR THROUGH THESE PEOPLE UNLESS YOU LIKE BEING LIED TO, AND CHEATED!

Never Ever Again / Terrible Experience..

I booked a hotel in Mumbai via Rocket Miles/Rocket Travel who were responsible for ensuring I was allocated the room I had paid for. On reaching the hotel, this wasn't the case and I was given a very sub-standard room. I shared all information with the Customer Service marking it Very Urgent who didn't even bother with acknowledging the email let alone help me sort it out with the hotel. Rocketmiles/RocketTravel responded 2 weeks after my original email and that too after I followed up with them.
I was left alone in a foreign country to sort out their mess on my own and even when I had provided all evidence and information to RocketMiles/Travel, they couldn't even do a decent communication with the hotel. There is more to this bad experience which would make this review very lengthy.
So in summary, I will never book with RocketMiles/Travel again and I am utterly disappointed that well known airlines and hotel groups are associated with such sub-standard organisation.

Hi, Unable to make hotel reservation with AA rewards points

Hi,
I have been trying for months to book a hotel using my American Airlines rewards points. When you type in AA.com, hotel booking will take you to Rocket hotel rewards website. You log in with AA advantage miles account and type in location and dates and select your hotel, your name and email address and submit, you get error message, sorry bla bla bla...This happens only when you want to book hotel or car. It is frustrating experience with Rocket Miles website to book a hotel or a car. I have called several times and complained to American Airlines advantage program. I might have to cancel my AA Citi advantage miles platinum card. Every time I call for the issue, the call goes to an offshore customer support site and get no resolution. They ask me to book directly with hotel. That is not the answer I expected to hear from them.

I have been trying for months to book a…

I have been trying for months to book a hotel using my American Airlines rewards points. When you type in AA.com, hotel booking will take you to Rocket hotel rewards website. You log in with AA advantage miles account and type in location and dates and select your hotel, your name and email address and submit, you get error message, sorry bla bla bla...This happens only when you want to book hotel or car. Unable to book, customer service won’t help.

February 10th. Updating my review as promised, after frustrating back and forth, I was finally able to book our reservation this morning. Rocketmiles was able to fix the issue on their end. If you're having difficulties persistence seems to be the key.

Very happy

I was very concerned when I read the many awful reviews. I booked 20 nights through them, getting amazon gift cards-for 3 separate rooms.

I canceled and rebooked because the rates dropped. Each time there were no hitch in the rebooking process. Each time the previous booking cost was immediately refunded.

I also called Rocketmiles on three separate occasions. Each time a representative got on the phone within a minute or two. They were very helpful and knowledgeable.

Within 10 days, after my stay, my amazon gift cards arrived by email and I deposited it into my amazon account without problem.

Prior to this I got airline miles on a stay. Also no problem.

I do not know why others have problems. My experience was very good. My hotel rates were the same as other booking sites. The amazon gift cards exceeded the valve of ‘perks’ on the other booking sites

I have been trying to book a rental car…

I have been trying to book a rental car redeeming my American airlines AAdvantage miles. The website will not allow the location I need even though the agents at Rocket told me they can see cars available. After talking to various agents who don't know how to fix the problem, the supervisor suggested, "just use your credit card and not your miles". This is such bad advice. We got this credit card to use the miles. I am completely frustrated that I have 55,000+ miles and not able to redeem because there is a glitch in their website.

NEVER AGAIN

I'm completely disappointed with your service. I tried to make a reservation and at the time your website had a problem my miles were used and my reservation did not go through. I tried to call but the agent did not help. She said my reservation was canceled and my miles would be back in 72 hours. My reservation was for 1/1 to 1/3 how can I wait 72 hours to have my miles back? Plus she said she would not be responsible if the hotel rates increase. I ask to talk to her supervisor since she told me that the website had a problem at the time of completing my reservation. Now I don't have the miles and don't have my reservation, and nobody can help me.

Non-functional Website &

so i want to use aa miles to book a hotel. and on the confirmation page it says "Sorry. We're unable to complete this transaction. Please contact us at bla bla bla". And it turns out that I have flagged as a frauduser by them, so i cant checkout.

So I decided to email them, and I got response saying that their team is currently working on fixing the issue. and cannot provide a specific turn around time yet for a resolution. And they even suggest me to book directly at the hotel for now.

AA.com says i can spend miles on booking hotels with your site, And I want to use the miles I have.

Absolutely shambolic - AVOID

Absolutely shambolic. Booked a hotel through this 'company' via our Emirates skywards points, got to the hotel and there was no booking apparently. We had the confirmation and everything, but the hotel knew nothing about our booking. This was all at 2am, and we were left stranded in Egypt with no hotel and didn't sleep all night. We had to book a hotel out of pocket for the rest of our trip. I was told I would receive a refund and compensation. On our return, this ridiculous company confirmed that we will get a 'refund' of our points and NO compensation for the error that was not our fault. They are passing blame and responsibility to the hotel and refusing to compensate for the money and time they wasted. They also apparently couldn't contact the hotel directly themselves, as they can't make international calls - a hotel company, cant make intl calls - how stupid is that? Absolutely disgusting - it's a shame Emirates partner with them, as this really has ruined our perception of Emirates too. Never again.

UPDATE AFTER THEIR REPLY: The ‘refund and compensation’ they mention is skyward points ONLY, and hardly any at that. Don’t let them fool you. This isn’t compensation. What are points going to do, when we have paid out of pocket to fix their mistake? Absolutely shameful company, who refuse to take responsibility and even give a proper reason for why this has happened. On the phone all they do is give meaningless apologies and agree with you and then on email or this website they are useless. I will be complaining directly to emirates and recommend they cease working with them.

What started out as a simple redemption…

What started out as a simple redemption of AAdvantage Miles for a car rental, ended up wasting 7 hours of my life that I'll never get back. Website kept kicking back errors over apparently payment credentials (note that this was a $0 transaction with all miles, and multiple cards were attempted and bank said Rocket never charged card, no decline etc two hours on hold, first agent didn't know what to do, so he hung up. next agent was nice, but said she was not trained for car rental after 30 minutes of being on hold waiting for a someone who knew cars, said no one was avaiable and promised a call back within 60 minutes, which didn't happen and still hasnt happened. No response to email, messages, and calls. Very disappointed in the AAdvantage use of this third party company. THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!

I booked a hotel stay thru the American Airlines site using reward points + money for the stay. A major hurricane called hurricane Ian destroyed the area around the hotel as well at the property itself. If you go on the Wyndham site and search for this property it will literally not let you book anything there due to the damage and the phone lines are unavailable at this property as well. So,,,,, I cancelled the hotel stay based off of these circumstances but yet I have been treated like I violated some policy that apparently has nothing in place regarding reservations affected by national disasters and/or conditions that are beyond a customers control. I have gotten the run around and have wasted countless minutes trying to email executives in the company as well as with the AGODA company which is who apparently declined the reimbursement. I have reached out to American Airlines to voice by disgust with how this situation has been handled. They should be ashamed that they contracted with such a poorly run third party company for their bookings and by the looks of some of the other reviews I am not the only one feeling this way. I will not lose out on my money/points over this. Social media can be a great way to get your point across and can be devastating if someone really wanted to invoke some bad publicity on a company. Unfortunately that is where this is headed next if a resolution isn't found real soon.

Fake booking Rocketmiles / LifeMiles

I knew about Rocketmiles through Lifemiles site as they are business partners, I booked and paid for a room in Roma on the 21st of Sep. Yesterday when we arrived at the hotel the staff tell us the booking was unaccepted the same day we made it and Rocketmiles didn´t inform us. I spent 6 hours at the lobby's hotel trying to reach them, same thing did the Napoleon´s Hotel manager and nothing. I have no choice but to pay €300 a night hotel because I´m traveling with my aunt who is +80 and has mobility issues. Rocketmiles ruined our holiday. Don´t book anything with them.

Rocket Miles is the worst and a scam!
I've booked a room last June, paid extra more than $300 for miles and until now it has not been credited to my skywards account. I have been in touch with their customer service through phone and email no one can resolve my problem. It's very luring to book through them when you want to get additional miles, but it's definitely not worth the headache and incredibly misleading. NEVER TRUST ROCKETMILES!
