Terrible customer service in both Amsterdam and San Sebastián. My partner and I stayed in Amsterdam in November in a Premium Suite which included a bottle of Champagne and Chocolates, due to it being his birthday. We requested it over 3 times which it didn’t come. Once it arrived 2 days later, it was warm and a bottle of Prosecco (which we told them I’m allergic to) and no chocolates. We requested ice multiple times but that did not arrive either. Additionally, on the 2nd night our electrics went off and never turned back on, we tried to use the lights and all the sockets, but they didnt work until we checked out in the 3rd day. The staff were friendly and let us know that we can have 20% off another stay in any Room Mates and additionally we would be able to receive an upgrade on our this booking. Taking them up and giving Room Mate another try, I have requested to stay in San Sebastián, which I had to email them and Amsterdam 3 times before I had a response. Once I had a response, they tried to charge me over €200 more for 3 nights than if I booked through Booking.com - therefore more expensive, without 20% off and a free upgrade. Again, I have chased up 3 times in 3 weeks. Still no response. Terrible customer service and extremely worried for the health and safety of their electrical standards.

Yes, it's bad since not many people use this app. That means once you've seen the few people in your area, that it for weeks. I already set to not renew my subscription.

Scam website that want me to pay for their "premium" membership to be able read any messages or see any photos posted by others. Plus, even if you pay, you and the other person you're interested into will have to also pay for the premium membership, to be able to see each others messages.

Also, once you pay, you will stop receiving messages and "match". All the "messages" you receive before are just bait to make you think you get people interested, just so you pay for their membership.

I deleted my account now. I will find a Room mate for free over on Facebook or Craigslist instead.

It's a scam website. Not even top 10 in roommate sites. Kept getting messages and had to buy the monthly subscription to read the messages. Nobody would answer, yet they would be online every couple of days. I would have a person email me, but they would not respond. People would make me a favorite, but they were looking for rooms in a totally different part of the state or even in the next state over. I would get "perfect" matches from people who have totally different requests from what I submit, such as not pets or smoking. Site is a total fake!

I used this company successful about 10 years ago. I was always able to get the right roommate. I joined for a monthly charge of 7.99 a month ago. I was not able to get any choices 4 a roommate this time. That being said I was willing to continue membership and give it time. When I was charged 15.99 the next month instead of the 7.99 I thought was the membership fee I cancelled. I don’t like scammy or fraudulant like sites who’s objective is to generate revenue vs providing a quality service to its customers.

When looking for a place for a friend, I found my home listed. Totally a scam! I never listed my place to rent. The picture on the site was at least 20 years old.

Suspended account gang lol. Yeah I made an account and a couple weeks later I check in on it and see it’s suspended. Never used it or even messaged anyone on it tbh so not entirely sure what warranted that but they can keep it… I’ll just use a better platform. Also glad I used a spam email so I don’t get unsolicited emails from them.

Should have read these first. "Vee" had a good deal and I was about to take it; she wanted a security deposit- fine. I tried using zelle but it I had technical difficulties w/ the weird address she provided. She got insistent. then gave me another weird address. I started to do research- nothing added up. Thankfully I didn't actually send her money. Funny thing is right after I blocked her I got a text saying roommates.com suggested me. I'm pretty sure they don't give out people's numbers- at least I'd hope not. Certain it's the same person. ANYhow. Beware!

So because the site requires both parties to be on a paid membership plan it's tough to get into contact with a match. I messaged five active members and none have even read message. If you pay for a membership you get 0 messages and they day your membership expires you get someone to message you with the word "Interested". You can't see it because you let your membership expire so you buy a new one and you realize its a fake profile. Got me about 5 times on this. Site is a scam.

COMPLETE SCAM!!! ALL THE EMOJIS ARE FAKE AND THEY ASK YOU TO CONTACT THEM OUTSIDE THE SITE. tHEY ALL SEEM TO BE OUT OF TOWN AND DONT EVEN ALLOW YOU TO COME AND LOOK AT THE PLACES. DO NOT USE THIS SITE!!!!!!!!!

I attempted at signing up to look for a room mate. Was blockwd from the start with a Suspended message and asked to send an email to the support team. Now after reading these reviews i wish I had never bothered. My daughter died and I am having to move. I am just trying to not be homeless because I can not afford a place on my own.

I want to give them a Minus Zero. I can’t believe people are so desperate to scam they would lie and say their Mother is sick and she has leave her to go to college. Needs someone to stay with her. TheirFather died and left this apartment to them they need helping
renting a room out. SCAM, SCAM, SCAM. If they asked for your email don’t do it. If they say they can’t pay for vip membership, so send your email or they will tell you to text them. Watch out for long sad stories.
Watch out for misspell words or phone numbers spelt out (nine,six, eight). The worst site for finding a roommate ever!!!!!!!!

There are only 12 active people on there in the whole Phoenix Valley! And only 2 in the area I want. an area an hour away is NOT the same

SCAM....SCAM....SCAM...SCAM...paid the membership...I would get some type of "random" response from an individual...only for the message to be deleted by the company ....one of the worst experiences I have ever ran into on the internet...this company is a complete fraud who are willing to steal people's hard earned money....moving alone or having to look for a roommate to save cash is already stressful enough.....but this company is just going to give you more headache on top of it...they blatantly use bots to send and reply to messages inorder for the customer to end up paying for a subscription filling this corrupt company with our money....F- and a -star all around....DO NOT USE this company.....STAY AWAY or risk having your money stolen from you without any resolution or outcome.

Be aware of Marla Speer profile, she will rent a room ask you for a deposit and rent but without authorization from management, If her profile it's been found here she has no authorization from management at all.
