Most unprofessional rental site I’ve ever dealt with. I paid $49 screening fee 2 weeks ago, but never received a email, text, or call to schedule viewing. I have called multiple times and ALWAYS spoke... Mehr ansehen

Clearly a scam
While I was luckily smart enough to pick up on the AI generated texts and the clear scam for $49, I can see where many are not. I knew the laws had changed and there are no more fees outside of a simple $20 credit report fee. And the fact that every question I asked resulted in them asking me again for money made it pretty clear it's fake. I even asked for square footage and the response i got was a link to lay their $49 fee. But what they are doing is clearly illegal. Unfortunately there is nothing that can be done. The paper trails of where the money goes will be a dead end as the scammers are likely in India or some other country where they are protected. And police are about enforcing laws and arresting those that break them...they cannot arrest some scammer on the other side of Earth, and there is no way either to outright prove this is a scam either. And they have no ability to take a website offline, either. And federal authorities have bigger things to do than worry about a $49 scam that will take hundreds of thousands of dollars of resources to even prove is a scam, and then likely into the millions to actually pursue, arrest, extradite and prosecute those doing it over a scam that actually amounts to only a slew of misdemeanors
I won't say there is a perfect crime. But if there was, this would be it
In either case, avoid anything that talks about a fee for viewing a rental property or any company who seems more interested in collecting a fee than connecting you with a rental. Real rental agencies only get paid when they rent something to someone, so that should be their priority. Not a $49 fee when they stand to make thousands off of connecting you with the perfect rental
They are running a scam
They are running a scam, stealing the $49.00 that they ask for so you can look at properties you want to rent and they don't even own them. Criminal charges will be filed on them and I hope anyone who's hard earned money they stole from you, you will press charges on them too. We need to take them down!!!!!!! FN thieves!!!!!
$49 for Nothing — Total Scam
Paid Locayt $49 for a “pre-screen” on a property that turned out to be unavailable immediately after I paid. This isn’t a rental service — it’s a fee collection scheme. They don’t verify listings, don’t guarantee availability, and hide behind boilerplate disclaimers while pocketing your money.
If you’re thinking of using them, don’t. You’re paying for a lead form, not a legitimate rental opportunity. I’ve filed a dispute with my bank and a complaint with the Attorney General for deceptive practices.
100% a scam
100% a scam. They make you pay a fee and you never hear from them again. The phone # they text is an automated system, there is no real phone # too call and they wont refund you/
Rental REFUND SCAM
Refund Scam!!! The property listings are Fake, no one will take you on a tour, They want $49 prescreen fee, which is where the scam is. They also want you to buy a renters insurance quote. DON'T DO IT!! Report them. the more you report the better we can take them down. Also look up their information such as email and hosting site and report as well. They prey on vunerable people looking to move and the elderly.
Scam asking for $49 prescreening fee…
Scam asking for $49 prescreening fee before you can view the property. Once you pay you get AI texts from Adam which first asks to schedule a showing, but the link does not open. Next texts auto reply that he can't help with showings and a text that says I get how frustrating this is. After pre-screening the property team handles showing. If you don't move forward after touring, your fee is refunable.
This is all a scam. BEWARE
Totally scam
Totally scam. Don't fall in to this. They will send a link to pre screening it will require to pay $49. After you pay. You won't get any reply. Stay away and report this
Scam I wish I read reviews before I…
Scam I wish I read reviews before I paid the money
This company is fraudulently listing…
This company is fraudulently listing properties for rent to gain prescreening and application fees. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS COMPANYS TACTICS!!! RENTERS BEWARE!!!
Definitely a scam
Definitely a scam. I hope everyone they ripped off filed a complaint with the FTC. Also file a fraud dispute with your bank. The more people file these the more likely it is people will get their money back.
Total SCAM
Total SCAM. Have one of the houses I manage on Redfin and are asking for application fees. DO NOT EVERY PAY before you tour a home, no reputable manager or owner will ask you to pay to tour a property. Please keep your money and steer clear of these fraudsters.
Locayt.com tried to get me, here's what happened..
I tried to screenshot the thread between myself and locayt but couldn't so here's a copy and paste of what happened;

Hi Reginald, Have you been receiving our previous texts about the rental property you inquired about located at 4710 East Arizona Ave, Las Vegas, NV, 89104? Please let us know if you have any questions.
Me
I don't understand why I need to spend money to see these properties. I understand if I'm putting in an application but just to view, you lost me
562 608 3174(locayt)
Totally get where you're coming from. The pre-screening fee is actually refundable if you decide not to move forward after touring the property.
Me
Why am I paying you to look into me?
Doesn't make sense financially on my end.
I can provide anything you need but I will not pay you to look into me
562 608 3174(locayt)
I hear you. The pre-screening fee is actually refundable if you decide not to move forward after touring the property, so you're not risking anything upfront.
Me
So what's the risk on your end? Seems like neither one of us is risking anything upfront.
It's like me asking you to pay me to make sure you are legit and then telling you, you'll get your money back if I decide not to move forward.
I'm just viewing, you get my money if I decide to move forward.
Your not even giving me a reason I need to pay you to look into me.
So what's the application fee?
562 608 3174(locayt)
The pre-screening fee is refundable if you choose not to move forward after touring the property. There's no risk if you just want to view.
..and that's when I decided to check trust pilot. I hope this helps someone realize these people are a scam.
TOTAL SCAM!!!
TOTAL SCAM!!!! 100%
I would give ZERO stars if that were an option. People, don't fall for this absolute bullshit. If I could upload the text thread, I would show you but I cannot on here. Only say BEWARE - THIS IS A SCAM!!!!
They are scammers
They are scammers, i paid the 49,00 fee…and nothing happen, they continue talk to text and they are scamming
This is a scam
This is a scam - they find legitimate past rental listings (that have been rented), somehow are able to claim them on Zillow and Redfin, and then they charge $49 fee for nothing. Beware!
Scam
Scam. They advertise property. Then you pay the fee and find out the property is not available and in my case was not available before i paid the fee. I tried to verify 3 times before i paid that it was available. Each time the only response was to pay prescreening fee. No refunds and a new $45 fee for every property you apply for. You will not get any answers by contact. All of there answers are boiler plate right off of a script answers. Scam scam
Thanks trustpilot
Wow! Thanks to the opinions shared here I didn’t continue with the process.
I was just to make the $50 payment!
Thanks trustpilot!
Are they a scam, in no hurry to help
These people wanted me to fill out this long application which I did. I paid the deposit that they asked for. And then after a week of waiting for them to tell me it when I could tour their property. I called back they said it was still in process. So I asked for my money back. I think these people are a scam.
