Thank you, Masud! We’re glad you found the course simple to complete. You’re absolutely right about the security questions — they’re an important part of the state’s verification process, but we know they can be tricky. We appreciate the feedback and wish we could've earned that fifth star!
Lost of one time verification codes…annoying
I like the read along and some of the features. But for the future please lower the many times we have to insert a verification after each quiz ends. It is very annoying and the time limit for it as well. There are other security options that are safer and not so much work to insert a one time code. I wish it was more fun and interactive. it was just a lot of reading and information. add more bright colors to the modules that are interactive. It was easy to go through and thankfully finished before the 30 days. I dreaded reading but the read outloud was helpful.

Thank you, Giselle, for your thoughtful feedback. We completely understand how the frequent verification steps can feel tedious — unfortunately, the New York DMV requires strict identity validation throughout the course to ensure compliance with state regulations. That said, we truly appreciate your suggestions about improving interactivity and design, and we’ll share them with our development team as we continue enhancing the student experience.
Outdated Content Is an Understatement
I just completed the Arizona Defensive Driving Course, and while I appreciate the intent behind promoting safer driving, this course feels like it was written decades ago and never meaningfully updated.
Much of the material is hopelessly outdated — filled with instructions on how to disassemble your vehicle to inspect wiring harnesses, check fuses, and replace bulbs manually. These are skills that the average driver (especially those operating modern vehicles, hybrids, or EVs) neither needs nor can safely perform. I drive an EV, and much of the “maintenance” section was simply irrelevant to the technology in use today.
Worse, the course contradicts itself frequently — particularly on topics like ABS braking distances — and even includes factually incorrect statements. Some modules contain information that’s not just obsolete, but misleading or wrong by current safety standards.
The tests seem designed as word games rather than comprehension checks, full of tricky phrasing that punishes careful readers rather than reinforcing safe driving habits.
In short, this course fails its purpose. Instead of promoting defensive driving awareness, it forces students to memorize and repeat incorrect or outdated content under the pretense of safety education. A modernized, evidence-based rewrite is long overdue.
