Our cruise on the Douro River was first class. The accommodation was great, the staff were, without exception, friendly and courteous - endlessly patient and efficient. The food was high quality; the trips and entertainment excellent. We couldn't have enjoyed it more.

professiiolism of the organisation from admin and booking to the holiday itself. The excusions were all of a high quality. Every care and attention was given to making it a premiere experience. The ivists were superb. The staff at every level could not be faulted.
Everything was very well managed.
The one suggestion I would make is to offer a small meal portion, to avoid waste and to ensure that guests are not overfaced.

Scenic Opal was wonderful.
The food, drinks and service were all excellent.
Crew were fantastic in every way, helpful, friendly and informative.
Under very difficult circumstances, the Captain and his officers did an amazing job navigating the low waters of the River Danube.
The Cruise Director was a hero organising and reorganising the itinerary and ports as required due to the difficult river conditions.

All of the staff were very professional in their duties.

Exceptional service throughout, many very interesting daily tours so we were kept very busy and fully engaged with all that was available. All trips were explained in detail the previous evening so you knew exactly what to expect
Food and beverages were of the highest standard and special dietary requirements were handled without any trouble. We had a most enjoyable trip and will certainly book again with Scenic.

This was our first taste of River cruising as we are usually Ocean cruisers. All I can say is that Scenic were absolutely incredible, from their genuine friendliness on board, the top level of service given and the excellent quality of food on board, we felt like we were dining in a top restaurant each day. Although our cruise was disrupted by the water levels on the Rhine, Scenic and all their staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and that we were kept in the loop at all times as to what was happening, so we had the least disruption possible. Would we do a River Cruise again with Scenic? In a heartbeat!

We’ve just got back from the Scenic Eclipse - Greenland, Iceland & Svarlbard.
I’ve put on at least 10lbs as the food is delicious and great bar service.
The ship is lovely, although some of the decor is questionable (awful brown marble in the ladies’ toilets, for example and a weird wide sink in the bathrooms).
Service is excellent and the staff treat everyone like valued family members.
We were lucky this trip to have a fabulous entertainment team: Sean, Amy and Diago. There is another member of Scenic’s team who is not as strong or with the same warm personality - but she was on holiday or another ship.
Expeditions are well organised and the discovery crew are great. They have bought new 2 person kayaks which are more comfortable than the older style ones, and are quite easy to get into - so they’re much better for less experienced kayakers. Unfortunately, they only have 5 - woefully inadequate for the number of guests who want to go out on the water.
One trip “Jewels of the North” in Iceland was oversubscribed (34 on the wait list). The onshore excursion manager said she couldn’t book another coach (budget reasons for a £18k pp cruise - lol) and it took some additional pressure in the UK to remedy this.
Star dropped for the poor loyalty tier system changes. Perks reduced and points needed to reach the next level suddenly increased. Many loyal guests were already on 23k or 24k points, (25k needed to reach Emerald level ) but it was suddenly increased to 30k. Unnecessary. Rude and disrespectful to loyal guests, alienating many people for little financial savings. In my case, I’m not booking any more trips with Scenic. nor will I pay for any additional services when on board the ship.

The Company contacted us about 10 days ago to state that owing to low water level on the Rhine our cruise would have to be modified - we could either proceed , have voucher valid for two years , or full money refunded. We decided to proceed but on Wednesday we changed our mind and the Company allowed us to take the voucher offer just three days before the actual holiday started

Staff lovely trips well organised

The whole experience was great - all inclusive without exception.
The crew were so friendly and attentive from the moment we arrived on board until they all waved from the deck as we left in the coach.
The itinerary was comprehensive with excellent choices for every day - it was difficult to choose which activity to do!
Food and service on board were excellent and when we were on a whole day trip we were always taken out for a lovely lunch.
Sadly, we didn't get to cruise all that we had hoped when booking, but this was due to exceptionally low water levels on the river which was out of the control of Scenic. Alternative arrangements were made and everyone was accommodated in the best possible way.
I would happily book with Scenic River Cruises again and I would have no hesitation in recommending them.

First week was amazing but after changing ships from Jester to Opal the staff were not as capable as previously. Things improved but just wondered if they were short staffed!

The staff, food, cabin and comfort of the ship were all excellent. However, despite knowing in advance Scenic were less than transparent in notifying guests of the significant change in the cruise destination. Only 3 days of the 14 were in the original plan due to the low river levels on the Rhine and Moselle. 14 days travelling the Netherlands was a very repetitive experience. Whilst we chose to stay, I think Scenic have to be much more explicit and honest in advance with guests, hugely disrespectful and a breakdown of trust with Scenic.

I liked the ship, its crew, the rooms and public spaces. I didn’t like all the long coach trips to get to the place the ship couldn’t get to.
