SolarQuotes is a great source of information for all things solar. I was able to assess the pros and cons of the various solar batteries on the market so I was prepared to have an informed discussion with solar companies, particularly when what they wanted to sell me may not have been exactly what I needed.

I followed the Solar Quotes on line quote process to find a quality and trusted installer for batteries which was very simple and easy to complete. I was contacted within 1 business day by 2 contractors, and chose the one who was willing to spend nearly 45 minutes answering all my questions without any sales pressure.

Very easy to use. Once we provided a few details about what we were looking for we were sent a list of vetted tradesmen who then contracted us within a day or two to arrange an appointment to meet with us in person.

Used Solar Quotes for our Solar Panels which we’ve had for 3 years now with no issues. Used them again for battery recommendations. Was contacted personally by 2 out of 3 companies recommended and went with one of those. 3rd company just sent a generic email with no follow up. Would recommend Solar Quotes

Solar quotes referred us to three reputable companies to organise instalation of a solar battery and other possible efforts to move away from gas and reduce our bills.
Only one of the businesses actually made a site visit. One was a zoom meeting and we visited the third. Wew thought all would have made a site visit. Solar Quotes did follow up to make sure we got three quotes and they have provided other infromation.

I sent an email to Solar Quotes on a Saturday night and by Monday morning I was contacted by 3 companies.
One stood out as it personally came out to my home and chatted about the various options.
It was a great way to get 3 local companies to advise me on a solar battery

Only two out of three companies contacted me. One told me my home was not suitable for solar despite not coming to look at it (relying only on satellite pictures), one told me he could only fit 7 panels. I found my own company who actually came out, assessed the roof properly and came up with an excellent solar solution.

Three quotes provided in a timely manner, each company quoting were diligent in understanding our particular requirements - we then selected the best option from the tailored quotes provided

Requested three quotes, and received these quickly. All three had excellent reputations, based on my research beyond solar quotes. Given how many places out there are cowboys and have some awful one star reviews, I was impressed to be given quotes from places with consistently high reviews.

The installers that contacted me were prompt, professional and provided in depth information about what they recommend and return on investment.

The worst part was turning two of them down.

Disappointed that some quotes require a deposit before doing an on site inspection . Find this inappropriate . Have been disappointed overall with process & have decided to put the move on hold . Seems to be populated by potential shonks .

Two of the three companies got in touch. We didn’t bother chasing the third recommendation as we were happy with one of the companies quotes and follow up. We went with Venergy for solar upgrade panels, 10kw inverter and 19.2kw battery. We are looking to purchase an EV and update our pool heating to a heat pump so hoping for a very low energy bill, if any, in the future

Good idea, probably needs a little more monitoring of the site. Can be clunky to use. As a concept brilliant and much needed. It has been very helpful, we now face the choice between two Recommended supplier/installers, hard to split them but we may not have got this far without SolarQuotes. Thanks Finn.

To begin with the good...its definitely not another click and dump site. They were fast to respond and the questionnaire was well thought out and easy to use. They also put in some thought to ensure the referred companies were relevant to my bespoke needs, letting me know early that it may take a little longer than usual, so comms from 'SQ' were great.

(See edit below) On the downside, it only provides a referral where the companies contact you, and some took way too long to make initial contact. I had already committed to a other which I found myself (not through SQ) before two responded. It also would have been great if there was system to help screen out quotes that were obviously too high, taking advantage of the surge in orders.

Bottom line, I think the companies they refer are well screened as quality providers suited to your needs but don't assume quality recommendations translate to quality service or best value solution for you. And don't be in a rush, you will still need to do your own research to compare.

EDIT 26/01/26: I must apologise to Solar Quotes, but am also happy to report, that I made a big mistake. The supplier I went with was indeed one of the ones referred to me by Solar Quotes. Review edited from 3 starts to 5 stars.

The two quotes provided similar advice and prices but Adelaide Solar Safe was much friendlier and made me feel like nothing was too much. With the other I got the impression they were annoyed with additional questions. Solar Safe also came out to our home and it was much better to speak in person and visit the site. They also updated the quote to reduce cost when there was a price change which seemed more honest and genuine in helping us to secure the best deal

This is a highly resourcefully place to gain knowledge of all things solar. What can often be daunting to get your head around was clearly explained and I always felt that I was getting an honest appraisal. I liked the clarity, wit and humour as well as the ease of navigation to various topics. Any tech nerd, such as myself, will be very satisfied at the level of detail presented. Highly recommended.
