My boiler was provided and installed by SOLV 9 years ago and has been serviced by them annually. On this occasion I had noticed no problems but an issue arose during service which necessitated immediate shutdown and significant repair and replacement of a fan. Problem was resolved eventually when a new fan was sourced after several days.
In the meantime it was pointed out to me that the external fitting of the flue was incorrect leading to severe corrosion of exposed metal. This had to be replaced.
This flue has been in this state for a long time and I am disappointed that it was not noticed by SOLV engineers at earlier visits, including servicing before the boiler was replaced 9 years ago. It could have failed at any time. ☹️
