This was our first trip with door-to-door service. Wow what great communicators. The guides and logistics on our South American three week tour were out of this world. From meeting at the airport to being ferried around Buenos Aires, Patagonia and Rio, we had a care-free adventure!!

Warning Do not give them your money. Once they got our money they did not respond back in time. Worst travel company ever. Go with a more reputable tourist group. We booked them for Peru and Bolivia and they didn’t even listen to our requests. We almost missed flights as their transports didn’t arrive in time. They drop you off at airport and don’t tell you what flight you are on. We paid for a Tourist Bus and they put us on a urine dirty local bus. We were stranded at night at Aguas Calientes with no ride. We would go to assigned hotels and they didn’t have our name on reservation. We wanted a company for safety and they failed miserably. I’m an extensive traveller for 50 years and by far this company was my worst experience. For safety go elsewhere.

This was well planned trip with seamless transfers, nice hotels and incredible museums and meals. This was my second trip with SouthAmerica.travel. My time in the Andes will be unforgettable, as was my trip to Brazil several years prior. The staff were extremely responsive, and the guides were entertaining and knowledgeable. I will definitely choose them the next time I go to South America.

They had a trip on their website that I wanted a price for as a single traveller and provided the dates. They didn't seem to be able to price it, even though it was priced on their website (for 4 people). All they kept asking was "what was my maximum budget". Eventually, when I asserted that I wanted a price for what I'd already asked for, and nothing more, and I would determine if it was what I considered value, they stopped responding. I got a very bad feeling about their honestly and would not trust this organisation, and ask everyone else to be very wary of them.

Update as requested - It was the (at the time) Amazon, Pantanal & Iguazu Falls Tour, and I was dealing with a guy called Nicolas Samuel (Nico) the Director. I still have the email trail under my other email account. It was definitely this company, I can tell by the logo.

Initially, in 2019, I received excellent service and communication from Simone Costa from SOUTH AMERICA TRAVEL.
Many changes because of covid but finally-
Scheduled to travel this June but company phone numbers, Simone's cell number, and emails received absolutely no response. According to the Better Business Bureau, this company has gone bankrupt.
Out of pocket $5,000- really angry!!

Scary. I just called their "United States" telephone number. Constantly busy on the 800 number and the 206 area code doesn't ring. Ads popped up when I tried to answer the site, strange. Would concur with the first 3 most recent reviews.

This company is out of business. Have take over $4000 of my money with no travel. Phone numbers and email of contacts no longer work. Generated e-mail response says i need to deal with overseas agents and South America Travel will keep 20% for their "expert planning of
the tour, a non-refundable fee fulfilled by your Travel Consultant "

This company is worthless. They planned my trip, took my money and now they want even respond to emails or answer my calls. The travel agent Simone Costa spoke to me a month before and state everything was looking good. Now I have to get a lawyer to see if I can get my money back.

Beware of this company. They have gone totally dark. Took my money and I can't get any response. Have to speak with a lawyer just to see if I have a chance to salvage any of my vacation.

My husband and I have had 2 excellent experiences with South America Travel. They planned a fabulous trip to Brazil for us several years ago. We planned to return to Brazil in fall 2020, but when Covid hit, we were unable to travel. South America Travel gave us several options in using our deposit and helped us through the process. We have hopes for returning to Brazil in the future!

This is the first time an travel agent is able to plan exactly what I asked for ....working with Claudia is been such a wonderful experience...I highly recommend South America Travel.

Conrad McGarvey & Jon Hillstead have both been faultless in their professionalism, knowledge and efficiently. Sadly due to Covid our 'once in a lifetime' trip to South America has been postponed however from our planning with Jon and subsequent postponement with Conrad our dealings with SouthAmerica.travel have been excellent.

She has been extremely helpful and wonderful to work with. I was asking to visit Peru in November and we weren’t sure if things would open up in time after being shut down for Covid, so she had to work quickly to get everything booked when it opened November 1 and rearrange when she found things that were still closed. I am not sure anyone else could have gotten it done. We are on our trip right now and so far it has been amazing. My family is extremely thankful for all of her hard work and effort

It is nice to work with a company that is responsive, knowledgeable, and happy to adjust to your specific wants and needs. Conrad was extremely easy to work with and designed a trip to our specific criteria.
