Consistent drop outs, buffering. Even has trouble loading the Spintel browser to do a speed test. Made numerous calls and all they try to do is repeat the troubleshooting I performed (speels). They try to 'sell' new modems or upgrade (pay more).

They say they escalate but nothing happens, no calls come back. I am now going to contact the Telecommunication Ombudsman. I am paying a lot of money for poor service provision and poor form as far as customer service is concerned.

A consistently bad experience…

It's been a consistently bad experience with Spintel. I change provider because their plans were cheap but the moment I switched over, I started have constant drop outs. I complained for almost a year and it got so bad that I had to teather off my phone to work.
When I spoke to someone from complaints they told me that once I get the bill, they will credit me for the excess data charges but now straight out refuse. I'm left with an absolutely huge bill that Spintel refuse to do anything about. Every time I ask to escalate my case, I'm ignored. They really don't care about their customers. I've mentioned so many times to the complaints person that the huge bill could put my family in financial hardship, I'm ignored. The complaints person won't even acknowledge what I'm saying. I really recommend avoiding Spintel. It's been a horrible experience and I can't wait to get out and go with another provider.

Absolute joke of a conpany

Absolute joke of a conpany. Internet was affordable and worked nicely for the first month and after that I had to call almost every night as the speen was never above 2 mbps even though I ordered 50 Mbps and just had 2 devices running.
They would hold me on lone for hours and then do a reset and it came back to speed for 2 to 3 hours and the same again.
And I cancelled my service on time and still these people have sent a collection officer to get extra money. Don't waste time unless you are okay with shit service and headache.

Extremely disappointing experience with Spintel

The NBN connection I have with Spintel has been exceptionally poor — far worse than the standard connection I had previously. It constantly drops out across all my devices (PC, TVs, etc.) for no clear reason, and even when it does connect, speeds are extremely slow.

Because of this, my phone frequently switches to mobile data without me realising, causing me to burn through my allocated data and go over the limit.

To make matters worse, Spintel left me completely stranded over the weekend when I was heading away for my birthday. I was told that “no available data blocks can be purchased” on my plan — which is honestly ridiculous.

Customer service has been just as bad:

No one answers the phone despite multiple attempts
Calls go through all menu options only to disconnect at the end
Web chat support is painfully slow and unhelpful

I even tried upgrading to a higher mobile plan just to get more data — and still received no additional data. That makes absolutely no sense.

Overall, this has been an incredibly frustrating experience. The service is unreliable, support is ineffective, and basic functionality like purchasing extra data doesn’t work.

I’ve requested cancellation of my mobile and internet plans ASAP

Very disappointing — would not recommend.

SpinTel Review

SpinTel Review – Extremely Disappointing Experience After 5 Years

I was a SpinTel customer for around five years and my experience ended badly enough that I feel it’s important to warn others.

The biggest issue I discovered was that I had been paying for a higher-tier internet plan while actually being provisioned on a lower speed tier. In other words, I was paying for a faster service but receiving a slower one. This appears to have gone on for years without being corrected or even mentioned.

When I contacted SpinTel about the issue, the customer service experience was extremely poor. Instead of taking the concern seriously and working toward a fair resolution, the responses were dismissive and unhelpful.

The situation became even worse when I tried to cancel my service. SpinTel made the process unnecessarily difficult and effectively refused to process the cancellation when requested. In the end, the only way I could get the service closed was by signing up with another internet provider and having them initiate the transfer and cancellation on my behalf.

No customer should have to jump through hoops just to stop paying for a service.

After five years as a paying customer, this experience was incredibly disappointing. Transparency, honesty, and basic customer support are the minimum expectations for any telecommunications provider.

I strongly recommend that anyone using SpinTel regularly check their speeds and confirm they are actually receiving the plan they are paying for. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this provider.

There were no problems whatsoever with…

There were no problems whatsoever with Spintel Internet or Spintel Mobile. From go to work, I had expert back up. I was dreading the move from my other provider, but I needn't have lost any sleep over anything, everything turned out fantastic. Thank you to all the staff of Spintel.au. 💐👌

The WORST internet company in AUSTRALIA

The WORST internet company in Australia. I live near the exchange and I live in a capital city and I am the only person in my household. There is no excuse for this company not to have good internet given I am the only one using it in my home and how close I am to the exchange. However, I cannot stream television without the internet showing a spinning circle every few seconds (buffering). Unfortunately I am unable to upload the video I recorded on this site. In frustration with SPINTEL, I bought a brand new laptop because I thought maybe the older laptop was the problem but a 5-day old laptop with 16 GB Ram has made absolutely no difference. For over a decade I was with TPG but never had a SINGLE issue. I am so frustrated by the poor internet with SPINTEL and I shall be moving back to TPG.

Avoid at all costs. Terrible customer service along with hidden costs. Was with Spintel for a few months and had nothing but negative experiences each time we had to contact Spintel. Relief leaving them.

Worst customer service - do not use Spintel

Worst customer service I have ever experienced.
Recently took up their offer of an upgraded modem to improve speed issues with my older type modem.
Modem arrived and was advertised as 'plug n play'. Plugged it in and presto - no internet.
I tried every night for a week to get it to work.
Chatted with the 'bot' which sent links to information that was incorrect. Tried to reach a real person on the phone - nope, on hold for ever and gave up.
I tried again on the weekend when had a bit more time and ended up in the same loop with the bot as couldn't contact a real person. In the end I typed 'I hate you'.
The following day a real person got in touch and endeavored to get it working.
It was over 4 1/5 hours of online chatting and at least 14 links with incorrect information and fault finding over the 2 days that the problem turned out to be incorrect setting in the modem that they provided and in ALL of their provided support material.
I submitted a complaint advising I'd wasted 8 hours + chasing my tail due to their incorrect information repeatedly provided.
I requested compensation and they kindly offered a $5 discount for one month. Told them not to bother as .62 cents an hour for 8 hrs work to sort out their setting issue was an insult.
I'm going to the Telco authority as I think everyone should until their dodgy practices are fixed or they are stopped from operating.

Spintel the worst telco ever.

I rang spintel about Friday the 13. February 2026. I was harangue for three and a half hours to complete step after step method after method online spintel apps and all form details. Asked many times to restate the same of details sometimes four three times it did drive me crazy.

The worst thing was when I first spoke with the young female sales customer services person.

I clearly explained I had no phone service and I needed a new service, ph no and an esim compatible plan to my phone a 4G android..

I next asked her,,,' miss before we go any deeper into the personal, financial, contract and other technical and contact informations etc can you verify and check if the esim attached to this plan offer is 4G compatible or not, as your plans app advert fine print states it's only 5, compatible.

After three attempts to repeat that question seeking a correct reply and she just moving right into her next order and customer sales guide book for purchasing and plan item completion tasks and checklist steps and processes.

I had to give the phone to my sister as the woman esdvjust s robot could not pause in her trained role step by step process and order completion procrss to check and give me a esim compatibility confirmation ,4G ,,,,, or 5G compatible sister some time around the two and half hours mark as sister was entering the woman's method step by step in activating the the esim and new pH no.

I had had enough I took the phone back and said listen lady you have been on the phone now two hours wasting our time and 36 mins will you please tell me why you are unable to active the esim and new no she paused for four seconds and said I believe Optus is having some kind blackout or power surge issue.

I said I believe we have wasted
out time will you go and check with the esim product details if the bloody thing is only 5 GB compatible there for will never be activated it connected.

Cut a little long story short, we were now locked into esim signed up waste of our forced plan purchase not able to clarify the esims compatibility.

At the three hours 25 minutes markvsbd with no pH, no activation, and no patience left at all. I did you have had my sister try four different dpintelbonlicmne forms link codes email scan codes and whatever else, enoughs, enoughs if the esim will not connect or activate isn't time for you to finally consider my original enquiry about the esims compatibility sscit is stated in your plan it's not compatible with myb4G android phone. For christ check and verify if this is the real problem before we waste any more Time. She said I judtvchrvk. .

Finally I thought , by this time I was very deep into a high anxiety period and my stomach and mood was very upset and nauseated

Twenty seconds later she came back and confirmed the esim plan included item was indeed only compatible with The 5G network.

That was enough for me I called her an idiot reminded heret of the First moments I asked her for that clarification again the second and Third and fourth time.

I ended by saying how long is it now going to take you to cancel and delete our created details and process my refund for the month you insisted to proceed upon regardless of how many times I and the once my sister asked to you clarify the esims compatibility. ,

40 minutes later we were told we were cancelled feleted and our refund on the processing pathway.

The next day the idiots from spintels, billing and accounts unit sent me an email clsiming I was behind in my monthly account and my account linked card on my spintel account would be debited accordingl.
I spent wo more hours the very next business day morning being spoken to by every be dog with a bark accept accounts and billings.

Spintels sales and 1st point of contact kept refusing my repeated requests to be put thru to the accounts manager.

They kept saying for minutes on end I was not going to be billed as. I had received a cancellation and processing of my refund email friday about 7 pm.

I had to phone seven times until I was put thru.

I was hung up on 6 times without resolution was driven to emotional sickness, was very disappointment, in disbelief with the customer disrespect for customers lack of concern concepts of facts, and poor unskilled communication and account details sluggishness poor listening and communications misunderstood ignored customer requests.

That's spintel it is the very worst telco ever.

Corporate designed to take fees from loopholes. Declined payment, paid same day still +$15 etc etc.

They don't tell you that the first month's pro-rata rates are not charged until the second month's double bill. I got double billed and if a payment is declined you pay Spintel $15. I had to go on a payment plan screwing up my disability pension income. If you pay the bill on the due date after a declined payment, you still get a $15 fee. I got $30 in fees and couldn't pay my bill. I filed a dispute and they said 3-5 days to resolve. Overnight I get a message that $30 has been credited, two hours later followed by a message that the new adjusted bill has been charged and declined. So another $15 dollar fee. I just contacted support and they can't remove it yet, I have to wait to get next month's bill and contact support to get them to remove this $15 fee. My pay goes in tomorrow so I would have been fine but they charged overnight rather than the informed 3-5 days.

Changing to this company to save money for 6 months is just a selling point, they make their money back in other ways. Like from fees from pensioners.

The customer support staff have no control here, these are corporate decisions. Customer support are actually very understanding, their system just can't change much of the fee or billing structure.

Customers pay for irregular billing practices.

Also I have $7.05 added to my latest bill for making two payments with PayPal. My bank payment was declined (+$15), I pay with PayPal the same day (+ a few extra bucks).

I'm currently looking for a new provider.

Unreliable

I signed up with Spintel and I could not connect. After a week of calling around and speaking with over 10 different customer service people, I was given a new esim.
But the new esim will not recognise incoming calls and they all appear as private number, despite my mobile settings.
After a week on their mobile plan, I left.

Know that if you want to leave Spintel

Know that if you want to leave Spintel, you should do it just before the end of the month. I left on the 3rd of the month and they are still charging me for the whole of the month to come. Even though there is plenty of time to adjust the final bill - it's not due to be processed till the 23rd.
They were fine untl then.

Spintel disconnected my 15 yo mobile number because I wanted to switch NBN from them due to extra charges. I did not pay the next months bill as I was leaving them. They cut my phone service aweful customer service truely aweful avoid them at all costs

Stay away- save yourself valuable time, hassle and money.

Sadly- should have read the reviews here before going with Spintel. Bit of a joke of a company.

The only good thing I can say is that their customer service staff in the Phillipines?? are always very courteous, keep their word and do their best to help. Only reason I gave 2 stars and not 1.

Multiple issues, sent at least x2 faulty modems, their network kept dropping out even when the Optus 5G network they access was fine via my wife's phone.

Tried to blame us for faulty modem positioning and had to tell the full story every time we rang up as got a different customer service person who either didn't bother to read the service history notes, or notes perhaps not recorded

Expect you to pay every time you have to post back faulty equipment out of your own pocket, and only back down when you threaten to leave.

Stay away, save valuable time, hassle and money.

Bad communication channels and not transparent that you may have to pay for cabling going into your house and get your own electrician

Cancelled order order was put in almost 2 months ago. Bad communication and noone would put the cabling in our house despite saying it was free to instal into your house. Re NBN FTTN technician . My husband stayed at home all day waiting for the technician to arrive and then was rung at the end of the window period to say he would not be coming. On the second appointment time, he arrived late and then said he cannot instal the cable into the house as he was not getting under the house or onto the roof to fit the cable. He left cable with us and said for us to organize an electrician at our expense and he would be back. Nowhere does it say this. Our house is a fairly standard single level house. It is raised about 600 + cm off the ground on brick pillars and semi enclosed. To top it off Spintel sent a few messages over the 2 months we have been waiting for installation asking if the work had been completed, but you could not reply to the messages . . Then an email asking and saying they would close the ticket if they dont hear from me. I replied and again no answer. Rang Spintel today, another week later and the customer service person told me I had not replied and that you had to open your account online. Find the ticket item, which is nowehere obvious to reply. Way too hard to communicate with them and not informing the consumer that the technician may decide not to instal and put the cost back on to you - made us cancel the order after a couple of months of waiting and run around. Now returning the Modem I purchased at a penalty for returning. NOt happy.

Customer service FAIL - SIM FAILs to register - OTP delays to 1x/20-min!

I've ordered a 5G SpinTel modem, logged on, but your website gives an error when I go to activate the service. Your service agent has asked me to log on with different devices and browsers and clear my cache, which I've done, but now the OTPs can't be sent because I've reached the limit of codes logging on trying to get the SIM registered! And now your agent can't remove the code restriction! Now each time she asks me to try registering the SIM, I need to wait TWENTY FRICKIN' MINUTES!
