Sun Communities raise the rent and by…
Sun Communities raise the rent by 4.5% every year until it become unaffordable living in one of their 55 y/old trailer park. Attorney General have been notify and have no control on rent increase unless the state pass a new law to protect the seniors citizen's rights on fixed income not to become homeless. It's a monopoly and they use a rip off strategy with their "comparable" argument !
Absolutely agree with these reviews
Absolutely agree with these reviews. Stupidly bought in a Sun Community Resort and the management here is all in bed with each other! Literally. The Maintenance Manager of Siesta Bay is married to the Office Manager. The Maintenance Manager of our sister resort, Indian Creek, it is also married to the Office Manager of that resort. The CEO of Sun Communites, Gary Shiffman makes $7,969,260 as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer at Sun Communitiesand you will get no love there either. The culture comes from the top. I have spoken to several residents here and they too have experienced harassment and victimization from management and nothing is ever done because they are all married to each other and they get the nod from the top. Trying to get any one to listen from head office is a joke. Wrote a Google review and they acted all concerned with 'call this number'. Called the number and they gave me an email address! LOL. No prizes guessing if they ever responded.
Worse at everything
First of all, Sun Communities is a large corporation that cares nothing for the residents of this Community. We are nothing but a money maker no matter whom they need to trample on. They've increased rent more than four times during my four to five years here. They've even increased rent during this pandemic. Try asking corporate to reconsider? Their answer: "talk to your manager". They won't hesitate to throw their managers under the bus for that one even though it's corporate who handles rent increases. Does the money really go to "fixing" the community. No, it does not. There has been various things that need fixing but never get done. Why? It's simple, corporate greed. They stand to make a profit without even needing anything to do or invest in fixing. Lax rules, which makes for an ugly community. You must sign something, but is it reinforced? Again, no. Why? They have favorites and those people really don't have to follow any lease. They take no renters. That folks is a lie. They allow renters which means you don't know who is entering the community. For how much you pay, you may as well rent an apartment or buy a house. This is not an investment and I guarantee you will not see a return on your investment.

I worked for Sun Communities at the Maplebrook location in Matteson. I had the worse supervisor, that was promoted from an office manager. They were over bearing, incompetent, always absent from their duties. She never gave me enough time to do my work, and never spent the money she needed to on good materials.
