In January this year I called TL plumbers to fix a blocked waste pipe. The plumber didn’t have the correct tools for the job and instead fixed a white waste pipe running along the ground and to the drain, passing the back door. It is a trip hazard. I wasn’t pleased with the job but didn’t know what else to do. My insurance had an excess and the initial quote TL Plumbers gave me over the phone was much less than my insurance so I chose them to carry out the work. Initially, the waste pipe from the dishwasher was accidentally disconnected and the morning after my kitchen was flooded. I reported this to TL plumbers and they made arrangements for their plumber to reconnect the hose. My daughter was the first to visit afterwards and couldn’t believe the poor job carried out, she said £192 for that! The rest of my family thought the same and I’m sure a better job could have been done. The blockage could have been cleared with a flexible rod, which the plumber didn’t have. He used an unblocking liquid that didn’t work, a plunger that resulted in the waste pipe disconnecting from the dishwasher. He said that he would have to dig up the ground to get to the waste pipe and that would take time and be expensive. I can’t use my insurance to rectify the awful job carried out because they didn’t have anything to do with it. It would have been much cheaper to have used my insurance in the first place. Do you have an inspector to come here and see for themselves the pipe that leads from the outside wall and runs along above the ground to the the drain? The plumber was here for an hour almost to the minute but insisted he was here over an hour and charged me for two hours. I’m so disappointed with the work that was carried out and everyone who visits me can’t believe what the plumber has done. Please help, with your thoughts. Thank you in anticipation Mrs Williams.

I was very pleased with the work carried out. The plumber was very friendly, polite, helpful, informative and very professional.
I would highly recommend this company to anyone who needed any plumbing done quickly and efficiently.

Plumber was very nice and arrived promptly but had a look and said it was too big a job for them. Spent a total of 10 minutes with us but we were still charged £198 for the visit which was a bit steep in my opinion. Wouldn't risk using again for this reason. Update was that the company that actually carried out the work only charged £180!!! So cheaper than the visit from Local Plumbers.......never again

The cost was ok when explained min of 1 hour labour charge, the fitter was on time very polite and clean and tidy. Will definitely recommend to friends and family.

Extremely Poor Service and Complete Waste of Time

I had an extremely frustrating experience with this handyman service, which was arranged through a third party. From the very beginning, the communication was slow and unreliable, completely contradicting the “instant service” promised in their advertisement.
After raising the job, I was told it would be completed the same afternoon. That didn’t happen—the appointment was simply cancelled. I was then left waiting for a follow-up booking, and although I was repeatedly assured that I would be informed of the next available slot, no one ever got back to me.
Instead, I had to constantly chase them myself. Every time I called, I was given the same excuse—that they were “waiting for a response from their point of contact.” This went on for three weeks with no progress, no accountability, and no proper communication.

Eventually, I gave up and requested a refund. Even that was handled poorly. The refund took an additional two weeks to process, far beyond any reasonable business timeframe.

In summary:

Misleading advertising (no “instant service” whatsoever)
Repeated cancellations with no follow-up
Zero proactive communication
Endless chasing from the customer side
Unacceptable delays in issuing a refund

This was a complete waste of time and effort. I would strongly discourage anyone from using this service unless you’re prepared for delays, poor communication, and unresolved jobs. Even the person on the call was very rude and really unprofessional.

Avoid this service at all cost.

Called regarding a minor leak coming from my towel rail. They said they could help same day by the end of the day.

Within a few hours a plumber was out and tried to solve the issues multiple ways rather than just stopping the issue for a short time. Really helpful and nice plumber who gave guidance on next steps.

Really nice person worked hard respected my home

Prompt arrival to my property, to replace a faulty electric shower, within an hour of making my initial enquiry.

However, upon arrival I was simply presented with a phone calculator app, informing me what I would be paying to replace the shower. No discussion about what shower make, what model, what I wanted etc... Until I pressed the issue. Was told that there were 4 types of shower that he fitted and it should be one of them, until I questioned (and questioned, and questioned...) why this was the case. Turned out it wasn't necessarily the case and it would just require a wait for a shower that I actually wanted.

Was told that there's absolutely no way to replace present items with similar size products. No discussion with brochures (online or physical brochures). Was told that existing "pole" to hold the shower head was a different size to the new models and that he'd just leave screws showing in tiles and holes/pipework showing... there was no way to source a pole the same size... Presented a random pole out of van as supposed evidence of this. Again, no brochure or measurements shared (online or physical).

Was then, after reluctantly agreeing to one of the 4 showers that he fits as standard, told that he would have to leave pipework exposed as there's no way (in any shower in existence) to have the pipes come out of the wall in the same location.

Very hard to communicate with and did not feel confident allowing to do any work on my bathroom so had to pay an hour's minimum pay for: undoing one screw, showing me a calculator app on a phone, showing me a random metal pole from van, and poorly explaining work.

Very good service.

Excellent plumber. Came and fixed the problem after hours on a Saturday. Very pleasant chap too.
