Why is there not an option for 0 *s?

It's a shame there isn't an option for 0 stars. Or just being able to select "A blatant scam".

Read this before renting from these people. Email me for further details.

---

Having recently rented a property from these guys, I am now in a position to write a review.

The initial move was initiated by a call from Amjad.

I went to view the property 2 days later.
When I got there, the existing tenant showed me around. Showed me some "flaws", and advised me to speak to the landlord to get them sorted. As he has tried to do her over, and charge for repairs she had asked for.

I didn't think much of it. So decided to move in. Maybe she was a bad tenant?

On moving day I pointed out that there was a lot of rubbish in the back garden. He asked me to "Hire a skip, and we'll adjust your rent - just send us the receipt". It's been a busy 2 years, so this didn't happen.
He also mentioned the new carpet in the living room. The previous tenant got it on finance, and is still paying it off. So they don't own it. The previous tenant does.

I lived there for 2 years.
I was never once been late with my rent. Infact, most times, I paid it days in advance. (I've been lucky with the COVID situation, where I can work from home).

Time comes, and I need to move out. For personal reasons, so I let Amjad know.

I told him that there is some stuff inside, but i'll leave it out front. I've arranged for the council to collect it all.

I was cleaning up inside, and I noticed a car outside. He was looking at the house. Tomorrow, another car. Similar story. It turns out he was sending his friends to come and inspect the house, to try and speak you down and make you expect less from your deposit, due to the state of the house. (Bearing in mind, the house exterior hadn't changed. Google maps prove this).

My tenancy wasn't up until the final day of the month. But this didn't stop Amjad. He tried making demands I travelled miles from my new home, to the old one, to show potential new tenants around. Isn't that your job?

Anyway, along comes moving day. Amjad tips up, and stands out the front staring at the sofas and rubbish - like he was gobsmacked. Asked what this is? I told him that the council are grabbing it, and it should be gone soon. He then asked me to prove it, and stood there while I got a screenshot up proving it was arranged. As he studied the state of the house, he commented on how some stuff was left behind.
I said it was already here when I moved in. As it was. Loads was. But he demanded I take it out front with the other waste. Which I did.

Anyway, that was it. He commented on how the property needs cleaning, which I agreed to. It wasn't bad, but could be better.

12 HOURS LATER.

I get an email from Amjad.
He reckons that there are several problems.
Firstly, the house needs a clean; that's fine.
Second:
There's a waste hazard outside the property. Which is blocking drains and attracting vermin.
This isn't true.
I put the sofas out 2 nights ago. The bin bags were put out the day before he sent the email.
There are no drains out the front that are being blocked.

Third: General neglect of property.
I have no idea what he means by this. He says the wall paper was falling off. This is after he accused me of wallpapering it myself. It wasn't, anyway. The design was awful. And to say I put it up myself, then it was falling off? How can you say both?

Fourth: He claims the gate from the front of the property is missing.
Not sure what he is trying to gain here.
I moved in, the gate was open. Never had cause to close it, as I didnt have a car. Now apparently it is missing? Sounds like he is trying to work out a way to keep my deposit, maybe?

Remember the rubbish on the back garden earlier?
He says I left this, and need to pay for it to be removed.
Selective memory?

He says I need to pay over £600 now. Which includes my bond to have the house cleaned (£100), and for carpets throughout (including which, the previous tenant is still paying off!)

There were 2 carpets, one of which he didn't own. The other was on the stairs. Which would cost, at most, £70.

btw, the landlord was his father.

Sound shady much?? Beware :)
