Previously purchased my running trainers from the Canterbury store. I needed a hydration vest for a last minute long run, called the store confirmed stock and later visited in person. Not only did I purchase a great vest but also picked up a new pair of sunglasses and some gels. Always great service and customer attention and care!
Helpful staff and Great Trail Shoes
I am not a runner but wanted some trainers that fit for a 25k walk. I was helped by the guy in the Canterbury Running Outlet to get some Brooks Ghost Trail shoes. At last I have found a comfortable shoe! There was a good range to try and helpful advice. I tried them out on the treadmill in the shop and there was no pressure to buy until I had found what I wanted.

The only slow bit of the replacement process was me taking the smaller size to the Post Office!
Stock trainers not actually in stock - slow refund
Ordered trainers which were showing in stock. Shortly afterwards recieved an email saying there was an error and they would refund me as they are not actually in stock. Took nearly 5 days to recieve a refund. Why hang on to peoples money for so long?

Avoid this retailer. Terrible customer service and zero aftersales support.
I contacted them regarding a faulty pair of Salomon Speedcross 6 shoes purchased in August 2025 that developed serious damage to the toe area on both shoes despite only light use (mainly dog walking). The soles are still in good condition, clearly showing the shoes have not reached the end of their expected lifespan.
I explained that I’ve owned several pairs of Salomon Speedcross shoes before, and previous pairs lasted years without this issue, so this pair appears to be poor quality or faulty.
Despite raising a fair and reasonable complaint under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, they have simply ignored me. No response, no help, no attempt to resolve the matter.
Selling faulty items is bad enough, but completely ignoring customers afterwards is unacceptable. I expected far better service.
Would not recommend buying from this company based on my experience.

Thank you for your response. However, I would like to clarify that I have not received any email reply from you at all, including in my inbox, junk or spam folders. I have checked thoroughly, and all correspondence is saved within my email account.
I also never “make assumptions,” which is why I raised the review based on the facts as I experienced them — namely that I had received no response or support following my original complaint.
Had an email been received, I would of course have responded directly. Instead, the first communication I have seen is your public reply here.
I remain happy to resolve the matter professionally, but it is important that the record reflects I did not ignore any communication from yourselves. Please feel free to resend your previous email or contact me directly so this can be progressed properly.

Bank Holiday Monday and lots of people with the same idea as me, which is great - for running and for The Running Outlet - but did mean a bit of time before being seen. However, staff were aware and attentive and, in the end, well worth the wait - the young man who helped me was patient, knowledgeable and did not betray that it was a hectic day and that lunch was overdue! I was given the time and advice I needed to reach an informed decision based on the initial gait analysis and subsequent opportuties to try out different shoes on the treadmill. Very satisfied customer and looking forward to a new PB! Thank you and, yes, strongly recommend.

I booked a Gait Analysis over the phone with the Running outlet. She was so friendly and made me feel comfortable. Then when I arrived I had a young man take me through the Gait Analysis process. Expensive and terrible delivery
Ordered a pair of trail shoes for a Christmas present for my Dad and paid for next day delivery, which was pretty expensive. These were sent with Royal Mail, and the service was hideous, and I only managed to get them a week later, luckily just in time for Christmas. I am disappointed that I was charged such a high fee without being told that Royal Mail would be the chosen carrier, as Royal Mail are so unreliable these days and I wouldn't have purchased had I known. I would like a refund for the very expensive delivery fee since it took such a long time for the trainers to finally reach me (and I had to go to a Royal Mail depot to collect, they didn't even come to the house...)

I booked for Gait Analysis as I have now been running in the same trainers for about year and felt I needed to buy some properly fitted shoes due to a little bit of discomfort. It turns out I needed a half size bigger to start with. The gait analysis was really in-depth and showed I had been running in the wrong type of trainers. I tried about 5 different pairs of the recommended shoes and decided on a the Saucony Guide 18, which I have now run about 100k in, now no discomfort. It’s great to find a local running shop and the gait analysis is free if you buy new there, and why wouldn’t you. Really helpful and knowledgeable
