Thomas Damp Surveys is an independent damp surveyor providing damp surveys and moisture assessments across Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Gloucestershire (the Three Counties), as well as surrounding areas. I carry out clear, unbiased damp and moisture assessments for homeowners, buyers and landlords. This is often following a RICS survey where damp has been highlighted, or where there is uncertainty about what is actually going on. Unlike damp proofing contractors, I do not sell treatments or carry out remedial work. My role is purely diagnostic, so there is no sales angle and no conflict of interest. The focus is on identifying the cause of damp and moisture problems through careful inspection, moisture readings and an understanding of how the building is performing. This allows clients to make informed decisions without unnecessary expense. Surveys typically involve issues such as condensation, mould, ventilation and defects within the building fabric. In many cases, problems that are assumed to be rising damp are found to have other causes. Reports are written in plain English, setting out what has been found, what it means in practical terms, and what should be done next.
