Worst experience ever

Worst experience ever. I work for a startup biomedical company. We were ghosted by our account manager- not assigned a new one for 6 months. Customer service is a joke- they don’t even know how to help. Most of their help videos are outdated- so the screen shown on video is not actual on our end. So the help video is useless. As an HR Director, I would pass on Trakstar.

TRAKSTAR TOOK OVER ANOTHER COMPANY AND PULLED A BAIT AND SWITCH, BILLED FOR TWO YEARS WHEN ONE WAS REQUESTED (AND THEIR PRODUCT HAS NOT BEEN HELPFUL.) THEY MADE MISLEADING STATEMENTS, SUCH AS, THAT FULL PAYMENT WAS NECESSARY IN ORDER TO CANCEL AUTO-RENEWAL. WHAT THEY ARE BEST AT IS SELLING THEIR PRODUCTS, NOT PROVIDING SERVICES. NEVER DEAL WITH THEM AGAIN.

Bad - Horrible UI/UX that you will pay for over and over again

Lot of issues here that I want to point out with this software:

1) This software does not do corrective actions or Performance Improvement Plans, they try to tell you that it does in the sales presentations, but this software does not do it. They will tell you about a work around, but it is so complex and contrived that your managers will never use it, I promise.
2) We were trying to get the software to allow us to do a 6 month check-in, so essentially our managers would be able to meet with our employees halfway to their annual review and check in to see how they were coming along, not to be rated, but just a checkup to see how things were going. Sounds easy, right? Well, you'd be wrong on that too, and so was I. They launched into a super complex work around, which again was way more complex than any of my managers would ever need or be able to use.
3) Whenever I first looked at signing up to use this software, I liked the seemingly easy and simple to use interface that I had seen on demos and on videos on youtube. I thought, well, it's just about loading in positions and job data, then I should be off and running with this system. Well, their estimate for getting setup is typically at least 3 months, that should tell you something. I thought that they would just be doing a lot of hand holding, turns out that what they were really doing is making up for a poor UI and UX in their system. It is next to impossible to anticipate where to go, what to click, etc. They try to make up for it with their training, but it just seemed to frustrate me more that they wouldn't fix the clear weaknesses and complexness of their interface to suit the customer. They would rather spend an hour training you on how to do something super complex, and oh, by the way, if you mention to them that something is complex, unnecessary, or just plain not intuitive, instead of take the feedback, they actually get defensive and back up their reasoning for doing whatever they are doing in a totally illogical and contrived way. They need to take a page from Google and Apple and go back to the drawing board with their system and design something from the ground up that is EASY TO USE.
4) Scoring for employees is extremely complex and contrived, just ask them to show it to you in the sales process, you will see
5) There is this wonderful background jobs pop-up that pops up every time that you do ANYTHING in the application, I'm serious. You have to dismiss it manually every time, it is ridiculous, unnecessary, and very annoying.
6) There is no simple way to have them tie any type of notes or issues with an employee back to a part of their job description that it is supposed to match. Which, is really the basis of why you are keeping records for corrective actions, notices, etc, to protect yourself from an employee if you have to terminate for performance based reasons/issues.
7) If you have employees who don't sit at a desk or have their own computer, this system is not for you. It does not offer you a way to accommodate those employees. Again, they will talk about a “solution” or “work around”, but again, don't be fooled, they have no solution here either.

In the end, I think that I felt like how I feel like with Quickbooks Online, they have their sales people and their presentations down to a science, almost like magicians when they show it to you, quickly moving you away from the pain points of the system and the mind-numbing redundancy that just wears on you with a badly designed software application. But you don't realize how bad it is until you really start digging into it, as the months set in, there wasn't one huge dealbreaker or issue with their application, I was just left with a system that had tons of flaws, until it amounted to an application that I was done trying to understand and one that was so complex, I just couldn't bring myself to try and make my employees or managers use it.

Oh, by the way, I have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, have coded for years and still couldn't understand why someone would design an application like this, still confuses me to this day.

Love the extra touches

I love the email reminders I can set up and also the notes sections. As HR, every conversation I have with an employee or manager, I comment- add this to your Trakstar!

Trakstar and customer support

Trakstar has been an easy to implement platform and has been widely accepted by our employees. We could customize Trakstar to serve the company's purpose. Navigating the platform is very easy. Customer service is prompt and great!

Trakstar is not only intuitive, it is also, fast, user-friendly and very easy to understand. Not to mention, great support staff that responds to queries immediately. Trakstar has certainly establish themselves as more of a partner for us than a vendor.

GREAT TOOL!

Trakstar is a wonderful tool for setting up reviews and review cycles. It has streamlined our process internally. Mostly user friendly, helps to have someone as your "expert" internally as your go to person.
We are able to do quarterly goals/reviews as well as annual by using Trackstar.

Good system

The system works well for our annual evals. As an administrator we can see exactly where someone is in the process. It allows for lots of customization. Sometimes because of that it is slightly difficult to find issues - however support is very helpful.

Easy to use

Trakstar is easy to use, easily accessible, and organized well.

We've always had trouble making sure our employees receive their semi-annual reviews on time and in a consistent format. The employees forget, the managers forget, and before you know it, it's two months past a review date and then everyone scrambles to get it done. Trakstar's system has changed this in so many ways. Once the setup is complete, everybody receives automatic reminders and everybody now has a consistent review format that makes it much easier to track employee progress and improvement over the course of the year. The review forms are very easy to customize should we wish to change anything, and the support team is always willing to answer any questions we have on what Trakstar is able to do to enhance an employee's review.

Excellent service thus far!

Weighed the system against many others in industry, chose based on price and customer service. They even took into account our NFP status! We are mid implementation right now and everything has been a breeze so far, customer service has been fantastic! Would highly recommend Trakstar to other businesses looking to implement a performance rating system!

Great customer support

Trakstar has really improved our performance management process. I probably have not used it to its full capacity and am sometimes confused about how to use it, but they offer great support videos as well as personalized support. When we first adopted it, I accidentally deleted some data and they were able to help me recover it. Overall it's a great database and has tons of flexibility.

Trakstar is an awesome tool, I would recommend with no reservations!

Transition into using this software has been seamless. It is very user friendly and training our new staff on using the software has been painless. I would also like to comment that the free trainings/ webinars are incredibly helpful and I have consistently been more than impressed with the support and customer service we have received- would rate 10 stars if I could!

changing the way we do performance reviews!

We've been using Trakstar for 5 months and it's changing the way we do performance reviews.

Good bye to our home-cooked google sheets that we used for tracking employee reviews, and hello Trakstar. Our team is thankful for the unified, consistent approach to evaluations, and we're feeling in compliance with HR best practices now more than ever.

Highly recommended and in our opinion, well worth the investment of money and our time!

Excellent Appraisal System

We have been with TrakStar for almost 5 years and it has been the best move we ever made! The appraisal process has been much stream lined and I do not have to send a ton of e-mail reminders out! Each time the system is updated, the TrakStar team makes it even better!
