Added the shoes to my cart and proceeded to checkout, only to find an unreasonable shipping fee, over 20% of the order value.

Given that the shoes are manufactured in Portugal, it’s disappointing that EU customers are forced to pay UK export shipping fees instead of receiving goods from within the EU.

Ended up buying another pair of Common Projects instead.

After years of being loyal to another premium sneaker brand (Oliver Cabell, for those wondering), I found myself deeply disappointed by their quiet decline in quality. What was once a brand built on craftsmanship and transparency became a shadow of itself, mass-producing plastic-feeling shoes in Vietnam while still charging Italian-made prices. You can read my review on that elsewhere, but let’s just say: I was in the market for a new standard.

Enter Uniform Standard.

I stumbled upon their small shop tucked near Piccadilly Circus while visiting London, and I immediately felt the difference, both in product and philosophy. The Series 1 Double Mink Suede was my first pick: earthy, elegant, and built like a shoe that respects your investment. The weight, the materials, the attention to detail, it’s everything I had been missing. So much so that I went back days later and bought the Relaxed Fit Oyster Suede and had it delivered to the store to pick up later that same trip. They were ready in two days.

What stood out most wasn’t just the product, but the people. Stephen and Georgina were both incredibly helpful and welcoming, making the try-on and order process seamless, even with me flying in from the U.S. I ordered in advance, picked up my shoes in person, and never once felt like I was being sold a story. Just honest quality, backed by real service.

The shoes are handcrafted in Portugal, and it shows. Every stitch, every texture, every step feels like something designed with integrity. No flashy hype, no hidden manufacturing shifts, just well-made sneakers in refined palettes for people who actually care about craftsmanship.

If you’ve been burned by brands like Oliver Cabell and are looking for a new home for your feet (and your trust), Uniform Standard delivers. I rarely write reviews like this, but when a company gets it this right, it deserves to be known.

Customer service was amazing, after looking at the size guide I took a chance on the series one shoe and as soon as it arrived you could tell the shoe was absolute quality. Unfortunately, the shoe was too big, it fit in the width but not the length so decided to order a smaller size, 2 sizes lower. Georgina then contacted me and make sure this was what I wanted and took me through some steps to figure out if it was going to be the right size just so we didn't have to go back and forth with delivery costs if it wasn't right. I was in-between sizes and she asked me if I could pop into the London store so they could help with the fitting and rather than delivering the shoe to me they could have 2 sizes available to me, ready to pick up if I find the correct fit. There I met Stephen and he was brilliant, lovely guy. Helped me with the size, fitting and gave me some good advice on wearing the shoe itself and walked away with super comfy shoes in the right size added some extra inners for me and even refunded the delivery cost for me which was a really nice surprise. The customer service was on point and both are super friendly. If you are looking for some great clean quality sneakers with great customer service and knowledge this is the place.

Would definitely buy from Uniform Standard again in a heart beat.

Fabulous, simple elegant sneaker & loafer combined with first rate customer service.

Just bought my 4th pair! This brand has become a staple for me. Great colours and shoe structure, looks and feels great, understated and clean. The materials are great (their suede is truly beautiful) and the designs are timeless. Love this brand.
My small collection now includes 2x Series 1, 1x Series 6 and 1x Series 5 - all have been brilliant.

Absolutely love the craftsmanship of these shoes. I bought Common Projects multiple times in the past but was really intrigued by this brand. The colour range is just incredible and there’s so many beautiful colours and options but beyond that they are so so so comfortable plus I didn’t get quite the size I wanted and needed a half size so I popped in the shop and Steven very kindly put in a special insole free of charge and they just made them so so good so five stars will be the multiple buys and the leather is so soft.

Absolutely incredible customer service and top-tier trainers. I’ve spent an embarrassing amount of money chasing the perfect monochrome pair - but my search is finally over. Picked up the Series 1 Triple Black in-store on Wednesday, and I was so impressed, I went online and bought the Triple white the very next day. Cool, sleek, and effortlessly stylish.

Founder‘s passion and quality you do feel make for an awesome product! Leather is of a decent quality and I can wear the shoes for a long time without problems. Make sure to visit their Soho store.

Slick showroom. Incredibly friendly and knowledgeable staff. Shoes are perfect. The whole experience from start to finish was flawless. These are the signs of a great business.

I gave these sneakers sometimes and after 5-6 days wearing them in a month. They are still not perfectly comfortable but i can say i can easily wear them. But I got tons of compliments on them. I am happy.

Perfect no heel issues but most uncomfortable sneakers ever. My toes are screaming. I wore them for around 10 hours today, last few hours was too bad. I will give it a month not just a week since i love them so much. They look perfect. I will update my review then

These shoes are the best. I’m on my 6th or 7th pair because I love them so much. They’re sturdy and last a long time, only reason I’ve had so many is because I wear them ALL the time.

They are a staple of my wardrobe, so smart but casual and feel luxurious.

Excellent trainers for older gents like me who like minimalist styles rather than lary trainers. Superb service , have 2 pairs of series 1 and will definitely be purchasing another . Outstanding. (Plus their from east London like me).

The customer service was impeccable, after orderingthe wrong size, I was promptly contacted by Georgina to figure out what went wrong. She helped me figure out the right sizing for the brand and we managed to find a resolution! After a few days I've received my replacement pair of shoes that fit perfectly.
The shoes itself are high quality genuine leather shoes and were exactly what I was looking for.
10/10 I will definitely order from Uniform Standard again, keep it up!

Ordered 3 pairs online, but was worried they were too small. One of the founders (Steven?) fitted me and arranged a swap of the 2 unworn pairs. To say he was right about the sizing is an understatement. Such decent people.
Great service, great price, but great sneakers with lots of choice and colours. I love the monochrome. Plus they last really well.
I’m on my 6th pair and won’t look elsewhere.
I was even on a train home a week ago and someone asked me where my sneakers where from, that’s never happened before!
