Gutted!!
Tickets to see Les Mis were originally purchased on my son-in-law's phone for me and my daughter. Unfortunately they split up and because it is a ticketless venue the tickets had to be linked to my daughter's phone. Somehow this did not happen and because we had a serious family medical emergency about 10 days before the show we did not try to access the tickets until the night before as she was not able to go and it was only then that I felt I could go on my own. The website stated that if there were any problems to go to the box office with ID. This I could not do as this was a present and the booking was made in my son-in-laws name. Why could they not be like most venues and have the tickets sent out via email. I had been looking forward to this show for months and I was gutted that I was not able to go. We will never use this venue again and keep to places such as the Birmingham Hippodrome.
staff were excellent, seats were beyond awful
staff were excellent, helpful , professional and excellent in an emergency (woman in front had a medical issue)
but the seating was beyond awful , when you sat down the seat slopped forward meaning your knees were constantly pressed against the seat edge in front of you.
Im 6'2" and there was no way i could sit comfortably to the extent it ruined the show, my daughter is only 5'2" and she had to leave and stand at the back because of the discomfort.
I may have been mugged.
Organisation getting in was good, long line recently at prodigy concert, but getting out was chaotic. Charging so much for drinks though is just corporate greed. I was expecting Robert Turpin to turn up and have me turn out my pockets, not that there would be anything left after the second trip to what would have otherwise been a very good bar system. The self service bar worked very well, very accurate when stealing from you. Kudos!
Overheating causing fainting
We where at the concert and it was extremely hot. My son fainted halfway through the show. The lady who saw to us said she had worked there years and it was the hottest she had ever known it. The standing below us was absolutely rammed. To me it was that hot because it looked over sold. My son wasn't the only person that had fainted as I saw others on the floor. So because of the heat my son fainted for the first time in his life (he is 16, not a small child) and we missed half of the show. Weather it was that hot on purpose to make you buy drinks i dont know but with multiple people fainting that just proves it was overheated. Ive been there a few times and it has never been that hot before, even in the middle of summer.
The blonde lady security staff needs…
The blonde lady security staff needs sacking!!!
I attended the mgk concert last night and when I tried to leave the blonde security lady let a girl through then blocked me and my daughter from going out. I showed her my medical card -and she started putting her hands on me dragging me about. Another guard had to let us out when I showed him my medical card.
To the blonde security guard, you would not get away with that out in public and my next visit I will definitely be looking out for you!!!
They were okay with people smoking cannabis but not with us wanting to leave
Overzealous security staff
The venue was a bit of a let down for us due to four things:
1. Our seating on Row A was tipping forward ever so slightly which became more and more noticeably uncomfortable during the few hours we were there.
2. The smoking/vaping area had very little shelter from the rain, was small and pokey with limited seating.
3. The food and drink was nothing short of daylight robbery. I understand these places overcharge because they need the extra revenue but these prices were crazy! Almost £5 for a medium cup of pepsi is ridiculous!
4. There were a couple of over zealous security staff on the lower level 7 entrance that seemed to have a personal vendetta against my partner for no reason except they seemed to have mistook him for someone else. They kept trying to refuse him entry back into the arena from the toilets without a ticket even though he explained that I was the one with the tickets and I was still seated in the arena. They told him he should have split the tickets. I still don't understand why that is necessary, given that we'd gone through ticket checks and security to enter the building.
If you can fix those four things I would definitely come back but otherwise I would avoid in favour of other venues.
Customer service that genuinely shocked us
e visited the arena in Birmingham yesterday for Strictly Come Dancing, and I felt I had to leave a review because the customer service was honestly outstanding.
In most large venues, especially where there are lots of staff, you don’t expect much people are usually rushed, uninterested, and the service can feel a bit cold. This place was the total opposite.
From the car parking marshals, to security, to the ushers and staff inside, every single person we interacted with was friendly, helpful, professional, and genuinely welcoming. Me and my wife were actually shocked we kept saying to each other how rare it is to experience service like that these days.
Whatever this venue is doing in terms of training and culture, it’s working and it honestly should be replicated across the country. Brilliant experience from start to finish.
Wolf Alice 29th Nov - great band terrible audio
Wolf Alice 29th Nov, yesterday. Terrible sound in upper level. Was up to 116dB at various points. Had to get ear plugs (seriously) after 45 mins of pain. Suspect mix was fine as listened back on phone and it’s clear. Wonder if it was bad reflections off metalwork in roof and just affected the upper areas? Been there before, different area (Pet Shop Boys, summer 24) and it was loud but perfectly clear.
Who does the sound controls
Who does the sound controls. I'm having hearing problems 12 hrs afterwards. Wolf alice on 29th Nov 2025.????
Terrible venue but great performances
Went to see John Bishop tonight he was brilliant as expected!!!
However venue was terrible. Queued for ages to get in which ment event started late, drinks ridiculous price and huge queues at break for toilets very badly managed and terrible venue. Avoid if you can!!!!
Complaint service and box office let down.
We arrived to see Peter Kay and were told that our seats had been taken by someone with completely different details. I need a letter to give to viagogo, who I bought the tickets from, relating this and the fact that we were denied access. I have been promised this a couple of times but still nothing. So the box office and the complaint service needs a look at. Very upsetting.

Nice venue, great staff onsite, shame about the wrong info on booking!
We were at the Lynyrd Skynyrd concert on 16 July. They were amazing as always and we had a great time. However, I didn't give 5 stars because prior to attending, we were given completely wrong information about getting to the arena. My husband has COPD and mobility issues and we were told that the quickest way to our seats in Block 2 was to use the Southern Car park and enter the arena at Entrance D. What we didn't realise was that once parked, we had to walk a long way to the entrance and when we got in, the nearest block was 10 which meant we would have to walk all the way round. By this time my husband was struggling to breathe and couldn't walk any further. Then finally our luck turned, 2 ladies from the medical team - Maddi and Gabby - happened to be passing and I can't praise them highly enough, they managed to a get a wheelchair and wheel hubby to the right place. This was not the end of the story - our tickets were for Block 2 but when we got there the curtains were closed, which obviously meant all the seats were taken! We were taken in to block 3 where the security staff were fantastic and so helpful, they seated us in an accessible area which gave us a great view of the stage. I must repeat, Maddi and Gabby as well as the security staff were absolute life savers and made our night a memorable one after all the trouble beforehand. Maddi and Gabby also made sure my husband had a wheelchair so that I could push him back to the car at end of the evening. I do however think it is very bad that such a large and prestigious venue should give out incorrect information especially to someone with mobility issues. Must do better!

Guess they cannot be bothered . will never go there again and i warn you lot. dontttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt bother. i cannot stand being ignored.
Excellent steward!!!
When I went to a concert recently, a steward called Nathaniel made sure myself & my girlfriend were okay during and after the show. He was nothing but friendly, polite & courteous to us all night. A real credit to the company. If you’re reading this Nathaniel, you really made our night, thank you.
Awful experience...!!!
Awful experience...!!!! First & last time I go to this place.
Ghost last night 20th April. Queues were all over the place, Few staff & those that there were had no idea what was happening. 1 & 1/2 hours to get in. Cramped & uncomfortable seats. £3.95 for a 50p bottle of water. Nowhere near enough toilets or staff. Getting out of the arena was scary, we were getting crushed & my wife was in tears. It must have been horrific for those in Wheelchairs. In over 50 years of going to Concerts/Gigs/Festivals this was by far the WORST ever.
Worst customer service of any venue I…
Worst customer service of any venue I have been to. We went to the athletics and took lunch in rucksacks. Not aware of a no rucksack policy. Then £15 yes £15 to use bag drop. Disgusting profiteering.
Awful
Awful, like a ghost town, a couple of bars none serving wine. When asked was sent all over the place no-one knew what they were doing. Finally found some wine at a chicken food outlet.... Hilarious.. but then we were charged £12... For one of those little cans ... Disgusting really unacceptable. How can they possibly justify such extortionate prices!
Why has the arena changed from ticket…
Why has the arena changed from ticket factory to axs ?? abolutely ridiculous app to try and purchase concert tickets whats going on ?
