Ordered lights that didn’t match the website and were of noticeably lower quality than expected for the price. A return was arranged and collected by their courier on 13 March.

Before the return, they repeatedly tried to persuade me to keep the items by offering partial refunds or store credit instead of a full refund. I declined, as the items were not of the expected quality and differed materially from the online design.

Despite the return being completed, the refund was then delayed while they claimed items were missing from their warehouse — an internal issue not visible to me. They requested that I provide photos and evidence (which I did), and subsequently confirmed they had sufficient information to process the refund. They also promised a refund by a set date, which then passed without payment.

I have now had to initiate a chargeback to recover the funds.

A simple return, but an unnecessarily difficult refund process.

They don’t even deserve 1 star but to warn people away from this shockingly sh*t company, I had to rate it. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS WEBSITE!!! Awful poor quality product, zero customer service. Ordered an outdoor porch light for £180 (this was “reduced”) when it arrived, it had clearly come from china, poorly packaged and lo and behold the wrong light inside. Emailed customer service photos etc, to only receive a response a week later offering 3 bullsh*t options (which seems to be a common theme with these websites) when I responded immediately, I was met with silence and I am still waiting for any kind of response with my shipping label to be attached so I can return for a refund. Nothing. Disgraceful. SCAM SCUM WEBSITE!

Is this a scam company? I think it is. Bought 2 items one was broken can't get in touch.

We bought a light for £129.90 and when it eventually arrived (three weeks later!!) it turned out to be significantly different from the one pictured on the website. It was similar but of noticeably lower quality and slightly different in design. It was as if the online image was of a genuine high quality item but the supplied version was a cheap looking fake version of the advertised item. They eventually agreed to refund it and repeatedly promised to send a prepaid return label but it never actually arrived so it's now clear that they're just fobbing us off. We're now doing a chargeback through American Express.

Update 1/4/26 - After investigating this transaction, Amex refunded it in full but only after the seller claimed that we had never been in touch with them. This was what I will politely call an "untruth" and the full email exchange spanning four weeks (with their agent 'Sophia') had already been provided to Amex as a 26 page PDF.

Absolute sub standard cheap rubbish! Do not use this company!! Item didn’t even come with a UK plug socket. Terrible slow delivery and dreadful customer service……AVOID

I would not recommend you to buy Verthara Ltd as they won't give you a full refund! BEWARE OF THEM!!!

ordered light fittings and 8 days later i send email as they haven't got a phone number. i was given a tracking number to nothing then when i told them i will report to trading standards they told me the tracking number was wrong i pulled the funds back from the bank and wouldn't deal with a company like this again

The quality of the light fitting in my mind did not live up to the price paid. It was flimsy and cheap looking. Also the connections are not adequately protected from water ingress. The light does operate as stated online. When the package eventually arrived it was very battered so I suspect it came direct from China.

My orders with this company have turned out to be a waste of time. The products themselves seem ok and reasonably priced, but the packaging is flimsy and I've had two separate deliveries from them turn up damaged.

They won't give me a refund unless I take time to send back the (damaged) items, even after I've shared pictures with them of the state of the items and packaging on arrival.

One of the items I ordered did turn up intact and is as advertised.

I think it would be better if they charged a bit more and either used better packaging or a better courier service.

Very prompt and efficient service - includiing rectifying a mistake I made in my order.

brought 2 sets of outdoor lights, they were not exactly cheap and the order total was over £40. hat i received was shockingly cheap chinese rubbish, bare wires and a cheap and nasty solar panel, not boxed just thrown into a bag loose. at most id imagine the materials were about £3/4. took over 2 weeks to arrive, dismissive at best when contacting them about any issues and downright rude at worst. Avoid this company at all costs, misrepresent the products they are selling absolutely
