I appreciate the convenience VFS Global aims to provide; however, my recent experience booking a UK visa appointment in Saint-Petersburg, Russia, has been quite disappointing due to significant website issues. In mid-March, the booking site was unavailable for about 1.5 weeks, which left me unable to check available appointments. Although this initial issue appears to have been resolved and appointments are now visible, new problems have emerged.

When I attempted to finalize my booking by selecting a desired date, time, and service—specifically, the self-upload document option—the site crashed and displayed a generic “under maintenance” message. I tried choosing different slots several times, but consistently encountered the same issue. Furthermore, after multiple attempts, I experienced a login error where my previously verified reference number was not recognized, which is both frustrating and confusing.

At the time of writing, even though I can log in, choosing the visa center location causes the site to crash again with an error related to booking service outages. This ongoing unreliability is concerning, especially considering the number of countries partnered with VFS Global. Additionally, customer support has not met expectations; my emails have gone unanswered for weeks, and the responses on social media (such as generic suggestions to “clear the cache and cookies”) do little to address the actual problems with the website.

I hope VFS Global takes this feedback seriously and works to improve their website’s stability and the effectiveness of their support services. A more reliable online experience and prompt, tailored customer support would greatly enhance the overall service quality.
