Was told to do so I would incur a £50 fee.
The policy wasn't due to start for another 7 days and so they have done nothing admin wise and are a complete cowboy outfit.
I have referred the matter to my solicitor to get my money back.

One of the worst insurers I have ever dealt. Stay away at all costs. I had accidentally applied for insurance because the gocompare notified me that is due. My insurance was about to start in 7 days. Not started yet. So, I insured my motorbike on Sunday and Monday I realised there was a misinformation from Gocompare, my insurance is still valid for another two months. I called straight away to cancel and they keep 50£ of my money for a product that I didn't buy. Certainly I will seek advice on citizens advice bureau and acas and claim legally my money. Already reported to Acas and finance ombudsman.
Yes you can keep policies like this and you will end up closing down. You know deep down it's not ethical. It's a steal, a scam, a fraud, but you call it policy. Nobody should pay for services or products that didn't buy. (You had no work done in my case because you always asking for no claim bonus, etc before you validate the insurance).

Cheap prices but very full on with their huge penalties and fines if you get anything mildly wrong.obviously just a broker with series of agents working out of their mums front room.i think their business plan is to make more money out of the fines than actually providing bike insurance.stay away.

I'm a 19-year-old student and received what appeared to be a very competitive quote. I proceeded through the full purchase process, including authorising a payment of £3,148.06 — a significant amount of money.
Shortly afterwards, I received a message stating that the policy "did not convert" due to a system error and that the cover was not something they could actually offer. When I called at 9am, I was informed there had been an issue with "false quotes" being generated and that this had already been brought to their attention. Although I was told the payment was not taken, the £3,148.06 was placed on hold with my bank, leaving a large sum temporarily unavailable. Allowing customers to authorise substantial payments on quotes that cannot actually be honoured is extremely concerning and undermines confidence in the quoting system.
Quotes should not be presented if they cannot genuinely be offered.

I took out a fully comp policy on my motorcycle, and after I paid I was presented with unreasonable terms. Basically I'm not allowed to leave my motorbike anywhere except my home garage, so if I go on a trip or stay at a friend's house, hotel etc, I'm not covered for theft!
People like to use their motorbikes, that's what they're for, yet this company seems to think that we should have to stay at home all the time.
Anyhow, as the policy doesn't start for a few weeks, I decided to cancel and get a full refund. It clearly states on their site that I am entitled to a full refund if the policy hasn't commenced, yet when I cancelled they charged me £40, and flat out refused to cancel if I didn't pay.
I had no choice but to pay as I needed to cancel the policy, and will now have to pursue my complaint via the FOS. What a lousy company, they are cheap for a reason and I recommend to avoid at all costs.

I am writing to express my deep disappointment following my recent telephone call regarding my policy. I have been a loyal customer for several years, but I am now left feeling very dissatisfied with the level of service provided.
I recently discovered that I am unable to book a CBT (Compulsory Basic Training) for several weeks, which has caused significant inconvenience. In addition, I was informed that transferring the policy to my partner’s name—despite him only having had the policy for four days—was not possible. Furthermore, I was advised that there would be no refund, no cooling-off period, and no opportunity for policy adjustments.
I find this situation completely unacceptable, particularly given that this was a genuine mistake on my part regarding the expiry of my CBT. As this is a new policy, I had hoped for more understanding and flexibility in resolving this issue.
I kindly request that this matter be escalated to your management team for review. This is the first time I have experienced such a poor level of customer service, and I hope that a fair and reasonable solution can be reached.
