Really disappointing experience at Wing Yip. The parking setup feels completely unfair — you can shop or eat on-site and still end up with a penalty. It honestly feels less like proper parking ma... Mehr ansehen

WARNING CAR PARK MGNT IN PLACE
Absolutely disgusted after getting a parking penalty notice. As with everyone, we’ve been going since we were kids and never had a problem. Now they have put a car park management company in to catch and make money off their customers! Who does that! What a way to send customers away. This is Manchester one, I parked downstairs, did a bit of shopping then went upstairs for some food with family, and got fined £60 (if paid within 14 days)! Apparently I went over 90 mins! I went over by 10 minutes!! Probably took 10 mins to strap my daughter into the car seat! Absolutely disgusted. Tried calling Wing Yip to see if they would help, all they said was it’s 90 mins in the downstairs cash and carry shopping and 4 hours if parked upstairs to go to the restaurant, not helpful at all. I will never go back again, very very disappointed
Wing Yip sells pork which is rotting
Wing Yip sells pork which is rotting. Do not buy anything from Wing Yip. They should be reported. This is very bad. Plus I got a parking ticket for parking in a bay to do my shopping. This is a very bad company and should be reported
PARKING SCAM
I used to shop regularly at Wing Yip Cricklewood before covid but I stopped doing so after covid. i found them to be rude. Last week, however, I went back and park my car in the car park opposite which was allowed but to my surprise this time I received a Parking Charge Notice. I don't recall seeing any notice, I guess from the comments on this site that these are probably not very visible. I am sure that the company is aware of this and has in fact sprung a trap with a view to cashing in on unaware customer. I will register my complaint to Wing Yip personally but i guess this will fall on deaf ears. I do not miss shopping there and my latest experience has convince me to never go there again.

Good selection but I think overpriced somewhat, and customer service wasn't that friendly either.think I'll look elsewhere for cheaper options
Unfair Parking Fine With No Obvious Signage
I was shocked to receive a letter from UKPS issuing me a fine of £100 for 'not parking according to the signage installed in Wing Yip Croydon carpark' a few days ago!!! There were no details in the letter and when I googled, a number of people were also ripped off by this very unfair parking fine.
Firstly, the signage (if there was one) was NOT obvious. Adding to that, I have had no problems with parking since it opened years ago!
Like all the reviewers, I spent a lot of money that day (at least £400) shopping in Wing Yip and eating at the restaurant. I cannot understand how they expect customers to do everything within a short time. I still do not know what is the parking time limit, as there is no information on the letter, nor on the Wing Yip website!
I agree with all the reviewers and wished I had read their reviews before going to Wing Yip. There is no point calling Wing Yip management as it will be a waste of time and they are the ones who are ripping off customers!
This is daylight robbery and it has now put me off going to Wing Yip centre, whether to shop, eat at Tai Tung restaurant or buy from the bakery! It is definitely a scam to rip off customers.
My advice to everyone is DO NOT GO TO WING YIP! It is better to buy from smaller Asian shops. What is sold in Wing Yip can be purchased from smaller Asian shops and in the traditional British supermarkets.
Charged me twice
Charged me twice! Check your receipt! Had to go back and get a refund. Wasted my time and petrol. All I got from customer service is a sorry.
BEWARE of Parking Scam at Wing Yip Croydon
I took my family of 4 to Wing Yip Croydon and parked our car in disabled bay there with blue badge displayed. We bought some buns at the bakery and queued for a Dim Sum meal at the Tai Tung restaurant, which had a slow service. By the time we received the bill we had already parked over 2 hours. We then shopped at Wing Yip which took another hour. As we left the Wing Yip we bought some bubble teas at Purcha. After loading the car we left. A few days later I received a Parking Charge Notice (PCN) from UKPS demanding £100 but discounted to £60 if I pay within 14 days... WHAT?! They claimed that there were clear signs stating a maximum stay of 2 HOURS and that I had parked for 3 hours 26 minutes. To be honest, I had not noticed the signs but what if I had? We had spent £99 in the restaurant and £123 in Wing Yip. In no other shop car park have I ever been made to pay after I showed my receipts. I appealed on the UKPS website stating that I had been a genuine customer of 4 shops on site. They replied that they believed I was a genuine customer but that I still had to pay their charge. I thought about contacting Wing Yip but their own website stated that the car park is managed by an "external company" and has nothing to do with them—disgraceful shame on them! This is an outright extortion racket! BEWARE!
Poor customer service
Poor customer service, unhelpful manager Ricky has no manners, lack of respect and just no basic gentleman etiquette of a man towards a women as flatly refused to help a petite lady who was clearly struggling to lift a heavy product just bought from the supermarket
Wing Yip. Using the Chinese community as a cash cow.
We have been visiting Wing Yip from the 80s where my father used to shop there. In the start, they were an integral part of the Chinese community where they were there to provide a service to help the Chinese community. Today it is just using the Chinese people as a cash cow and its own ATM. Almost everything is 50p to £1 dearer than the Chinese supermarket around the corner and customer service is none existent. The staff don't want to help you find a thing and look miff that you dare ask them a question. Having bought about £150 of stuff we went to local rival 6 minutes down the road and we worked out that had we bought the same products from there, we would have saved over £25.
Absolutely shocking.
Remember this people wing yip only…

I have been customer for so many years but today me and my wife were disappointed and when I was complaining the manger of the security service he said no one were there at that’s time but my wife see them standing by the main door
I wish I could rate lower
I wish I could rate lower. Warning, don't visit WingYip Cricklewood again. I have received the most ridiculous parking in my life in a free of charge carpark.
The parking ticket only mentioned I breached the rule to use the parking with a photo merely showing I had parked a little bit beyond the yellow line due to the car parked next to me was too closed. That demand GBP100 penalty!
As a 30 year long customer since I am young, I called Wing Yip Cricklewood but unfortunately it is beyond their control as they chose to outsourced the carpark management to this ripoff management company.
I am very reluctantly as some other customers who wrote review here, I would and within my friend and community circle, would never visit Wing Yip again.
I would pay and have no time to play around with this kind of company. Merry Christmas and you lost your customers for good. I feel sorry to Mr. WONG the founder.
Serious lack of integrity
Serious lack of integrity in their business practice. Sells rotten fruits in sealed packaging to fool customers. Very bad and foolish practise that will just drive customer away for good like myself.
Went to our Manchester store for some…
Went to our Manchester store for some belly pork at half 8 this morning. No customers. They are always happy to remove the ribs for you. We asked the guy standing playing on his phone if he could remove the ribs. He turned around to say no and then carried on playing on his phone. I said you could or said it more nicely. His response was you just don't like people saying no to you. Never experienced this kind of service in there before.
The staff are rude and impolite.

Parking scam over there
The advertised discount was not applied…
The advertised discount was not applied at the checkout. So do not be misled by their promotions. It is a scam to rip you off, dishonesty. Always check your bills to see if they add up. Their epos system is programmed not to apply discounts. I've bought two cases of 26-30 king prawns @ £44.95 each case with a £5 discount if you buy two cases. I've also purchased two cases of 31-40 king prawns @ £41.95 each case with a £5 discount if you buy two cases together with a case of Korean pears @ £20.00 a case with £2. discount if you buy a case. However, these discounts were not applied to my bill at the end of the checkout. I've only discovered the discount was not applied when I arrived home and filed my receipt. The discount showed on the receipts state benefit summary and was not applied.
Rude and unhelpful staff
They are a bunch of thieving meat flaps. Staff not helpful at all. Typical rude chinese fresh off the boat. And now they are ripping customers off with their new parking system. Obviously when you ask them, their response is "parking is controlled by another company".
Very disappointed
I’ve been shopping with Wingyip for 15 years since its Cricklewood branch started business. But I will never go again. Their security directed me to a parking space then I received a parking ticket. I had been triple checked with that security guard if I could really park there as there’s a sign and he said yes. Without his assurance I wouldn’t have done it. Funny enough their management admitted they employed that security guard but refused the take the responsibility of their employee’s mistake and claimed that that person had left the job and said I had to pay for it. Really disappointed!
