Reply to your reply: And yet, when I try to do another search, it just prompts me to buy more credits. Maybe you need to make your system more obvious? Your rather dire Trustpilot score should tell you something's not working well, right?

Hello Paula,
When you have credits on your account, a credit is used each time you enter a name and location and click Search. If you then click on another result or carry out a further search within those results, this is treated as a new search and an additional credit is deducted.
Information about how credits are used is available in our Help pages and can be viewed both before creating an account and before purchasing credits.
In addition, each account has a Credit Warning feature. When enabled, a pop-up message is displayed each time you are about to use credits on a search. It tells you how many credits will be deducted and asks you to confirm before the search is carried out. This feature can be turned on or off at any time under Site Preferences within My Account.

They say they can provide phone number but if you sign up with them and there is no phone number you do t get it and after 1 month your credits are invalid. Poor and misleading, avoid!!!

We offer '20 FREE' Directory Enquiry searches per day once an account has been registered, if you’re trying to find a telephone number. To search you need to enter the name and location of the person in the Directory Enquiry search page: https://www.192.com/people/directory-enquiries/ and if there is a telephone number available it will be displayed to you. If a telephone number doesn’t appear on your initial free search, it would mean the person was ex directory and there is no way of finding the number.
In regards to the credits, our 6-credit packages are valid for one month from the date of purchase. All other credit packages are valid for six months from the purchase date. The validity period is clearly displayed on the “Get Credits” page prior to payment, within our Help section, and on each payment receipt available under the Your Account page.

Hello Sean, The records displayed from the open electoral roll show a person's name, address, and the year they were registered to vote at that address. If a current record does not appear, this typically indicates that the individual has opted out of the open electoral roll. This is explained in detail in the FAQs on our Help pages, which are accessible both before and after account registration and credit purchase.
Our records show that the online credit service purchased was used, and we reinstated additional credits back to your account.

i purchased a report that clearly stated the electoral roll for 25/26 was included and it was not. I complained and received a nonsense response, it is clear mis-representation. I will not use this shit show of a site again. Nothing but scammers. Avoid, Avoid, Avoid!

On our website, you can access UK Electoral Roll address records from 2002 onwards, including the Full Electoral Roll for 2002 and the Edited Electoral Roll from 2003–2026, where available.
Please note that in 2003, the government introduced legislation allowing individuals to choose whether their details could be included on the publicly available Edited Electoral Roll. As a result, if an individual opted out in any given year, we would not hold records for that period.
We make this information clear on our website and, before any credits or reports are purchased, we specify the Electoral Roll year from which the record has been sourced.

Cowboy operation, no better than a scammer selling food well past its sell by date and blaming their chosen supplier.
Any high street trader, unable to deliver what they have contracted, would give you a refund. Not 192.com! No, they blame everyone else and keep the cash, because this is their tried and tested business model.

Hello Dan,
On our website you are able to view addresses from the UK Electoral Roll from 2002 onwards (Full 2002 and the Edited Version 2003 – 2026) where available. Please note that in 2003 the government changed the law so that every individual has a choice about whether their details are available for public display. This means that if someone decides to opt out on any particular year, we wouldn't have records for that period of time. We do explain this on our website and, prior purchasing credits or a report, we inform of the Electoral roll year the record comes from.

Just paid for an occupier look up and got a years old, out of date result! Complete waste of money.
Update; 192 asked me to email them which I did. They gave me a full refund.

Trying to find the landline number for…aged aunt and uncle
Trying to find the landline number for aged aunt and uncle. Everything I try comes up with 'Page not available' or 'this page may have moved'. I get it if Aunt and Uncle are ex directory, so just say so, but I don't think they are as my mother used to look their phone number up. They have not moved for 60 years so why is it so difficult to find them?
Also why are we having to pay for a service that used to be free?

Only goes back to 2002 and what it does produce is pretty useless.
You have to purchase credit to discover further in-depth information, only to discover there isn't any. But it still cost you money to find that out.
And clicking on anything eats up that credit, sometimes without any warning that it will do so.
Pay credit to check something out, go back to it and it'll cost you the same credit again.
Edit: In response to the reply from 192.com, I'd have to disagree.
I'm aware that you only go back to 2002, but wanted to ensure others were aware how limiting your service is.
Not all links tell you it will cost credits, regardless of what you think.
Many searches cost more than 1 credit.
It will cost you credits for further information, even if there is no further information, but only after spending those credits. Quite the gamble.
The worst thing is that if you go back to something you've already paid for, you have to pay for it again!!

Information sourced from the open electoral roll includes the person’s name, address, and the year they were registered to vote at that address. If a current record is not shown, this usually means the individual has opted out of the open electoral roll. This is explained in more detail within the FAQs on the 192.com Help pages.
Please also note that one credit is used for each search performed. If you choose to view additional information, a notification is displayed beforehand to confirm that another credit will be used. To help you keep a record of your searches, you also have the option to download and save the results (Excel or PDF) once they appear on the results page.

more like a scam than a search business you buy credits they say unused credits carry forward for 6 months next 1day none. Also 1 search a person would come up 2nd search would not come up. I had one search OF A PERSON that came up as owner of 2 houses I owned in the past. That person did not own them REALLY

Thank you for reply which proves my point. Read my review properly.I did not buy 6, I purchased 30. Only used on 3 searches the next day the credit gone. I will repeat one day the name search will come up a month leter it will not. Something is wrong. Regarding a person I searched for had nothing to do with 2 properties I owned and when I checked with Land registry this named person was never on their records, in fact the named person has never purchased a property. I even checked my own name. Yesterday search none, today same search came up. You have a major problem with your search engine yet you expect people to pay for incorrect service. That is called scam.

Cost £20 and gave no more information than I already entered. Totally useless and waste of money.
Following upon the response from 192.com. I purchased the background report which should have included information such as addresses, co occupants etc as shown in the sample report.
This was not the case with nothing more than the information I'd entered being shown.
This report is purchased as a package and not with credits.

Superb customer service
I wrote to question a payment which I had made which on reflection apparently had been unnecessary.
Almost by return your colleague Matt wrote to me with a full explanation of what had happened - and how I might avoid a similar circumstance in the future. He concluded by confirming that I would receive a full refund.
I’m very grateful for the attention given, the speed with which it was sorted and the courtesy shown to me.

WARNING: Your credits expire
Logged in today to discover I had 0 credits despite buying some just a few months ago. I checked and they expired just a few weeks after I paid nearly £20 for them. The fact they expire is written in easily missable small print on the package selection page and there is NOTHING on the payment screen that tells you the credits expire. The fact they expire at all is disgraceful. I'll never give them another penny.

Asked for a basic search of an old friend and her husband, and I knew they lived in Cornwall. The site told be that yes, they lived in Cornwall. Wow! So I tried to get more info, which I had to pay for, and it returned - that my friends lived in Cornwall. That's all they had. Complete Bullshit Site!
