An employee at this company recommended me an unverified source for a man and van business to help me move in, despite my clear request for the contact of a trusted business. The man with a van turned out to be a criminal who attacked me and he was arrested. Access Self Storage staff and facilities are great, including excellent CCTV security coverage, but that experience with the man and van scarred me, physically and emotionally. I am grateful for their support after the incident, but they can definitely improve on whom they choose to recommend to their customers!!

Couldn’t fault my pre move in experience or move in experience - both were perfect. The lovely man (name began with M) working there during the week showed me the units so I knew what size we needed, he wasn’t pushy (like all the other storage units who also wouldn’t show me units) and gave me the quotes we needed.
On move in day it was a different man who helped us - he made things simple, showed us around, made sure the unit was clean and explained access to us clearly. Very smooth and easy process.

Helpful staff at check-in and the unit is easy to use. The only problem is that a couple of times there have been no trolleys available, even though the car park is empty and nobody else seems to be in the building

After reading similar reviews I can confirm that I have no issues with the actual secure storage of my belongings but my first issue was when I initially signed up they quoted me a price which was increased due to their insurance by which time it was too late and I was already there.
Nevertheless I moved outi literally a day after paying for the entire month which I was assured that I would be refunded within 14 working days, technically since they are open 7 days a week 14 working days is 14 days however for some reason they are going on a 5 day week which expires in the middle of next week and I have not received any emails from HSBC or anyone else to process this and I fully anticipate no refund after that. That would go against their own policy and contract and I will have no option but to make a formal complaint to head office or customer service.... the frustrating thing is that when they wanted me to pay them they were only too quick to call or email me but now they have to fulfill their legal obligation they are silent with excuses...I gave them my bank details plus they have my card details from a payment I made via their app so there's no excuse....why do you claim something which you clearly don't like doing....if I have to contact trading standards I will as other people have complained for the same problem....the joke thing is that everyone who has complained about not getting their refund even after months of waiting has got the same response from their so called customer service.....like it was a prefabricated template from an automated source.... not one of them has got a confirmation that their money has been refunded!....and to think back when I signed up I was told that I'd get a refund for used days, when I moved outi I was told the same even the past week I was told in email....why would you blatantly and disrespectfully mislead and lie to my face and not expect anyone to take personally and get upset....lets see what citizens advice and the trading standards ombudsman find out after they investigate

The staff collecting my belongings was friendly and helpful, however, they damaged a piece of furniture during transport.
The procedure to access the storage is cumbersome and involves a code communicated by the company on ad hoc basis. Do not expect to be able to access it after office hours or on weekends.
I wasn't able to acess it on the day of collection so the company kindly agreed to transport it back for no extra charge.
However, I had booked a van to do this and lost that money.
Eventually, customers are asked to pay in advance for a full month with the promise that refunds will be paid back for unused storage time. I vacated my storage on January 8th and haven't received my money after more than two months.
Emails and calls have been useless.
The service at the Charlton branch is disgusting. Bea and Shanice are the rudest customer service agents and have no customer skills whatsoever. The prices are higher than the other branches however they do not offer the same facilities. When I said to Shanice today that I was unhappy that the. Charlton brach was not offering the services that the website claimed, she told me to give my 7 days notice and find another storage place. It’s cheap and nasty and gives the Access Storage Brand a dodgy and tacky name, in my opinion.
