Packaging cardboard box incredibly…
Packaging cardboard box incredibly difficult to open, too strongly glued, but with gaps at the corners where the washers, not in a plastic bag, fell thru in transit so we are waiting for more washers & can’t complete the construction.

Make sure you read ALL the detail on their website BEFORE ordering
I would be very careful when dealing with this company.
We ordered everything on-line and were advised that the delivery people would contact us to arrange a date/time. No call was received and the courier suddenly turned up before we were ready, so we had to turn him away. I called Alexander Rose to be told they sub-contract their deliveries. It then transpired that the sub-contractor sub-contracted our delivery!! Really not very re-assuring.
The products arrived contained in two pallets and bound in plastic sheeting.
We unpacked it all to find that the table we ordered is self-assembly. Yes, that detail is on their website, but not in a very prominent place. Being 82, I would recommend they put such information were it is easily found and read.
However, to add insult to injury, the order was incomplete without any notification that one part was missing. So back to Alexander Rose who said they were sorry and would look into it. So we now wait for a response - and resolution.
Finally, we now have two pallets to dispose of, as well as a lot of plastic sheeting.
For us, this was not a good experience and we were left with a "so what" feeling by Alexander Rose.
Their "White Star" service costing £129.00 means they will deliver, unpack, assemble and then take the pallets away etc. At their prices, that should be included where necessary.
We have bought from them in the past and there is no doubt that their products are good, but everything else following us placing our order was either lacking, or hap-hazard.
Would I buy from them again? I really don't really know, so beware, especially if you are of a certain age, where mobility may be becoming more of an issue.

Buyer Beware-not fit for purpose (unless for very expensive firewood)
I invested £800 in an Alexander Rose 6 seater Sherwood dining set three years ago, under the impression that the company made quality garden furniture. It will not last us another summer and of course is out of warranty.
Within a week of purchase, we had to sand the splinters on the table and chairs. Within months, the surface started to flake away from the table surface, sticking to anything put down on it (table mats, phone cases, clothing). Then the chairs started to come loose. We repaired and strengthened two, then the lower bars beneath the seats came away from the supports, some of the back and seat slats have snapped and a piece of wood on the table surface has broken showing it to be rotten, resulting in a table with a hole in it. The umbrella pole also snapped and it wasn’t even windy. The icing on the cake-I fell through the chair while sitting on it, which is the sole purpose of a chair. I weigh 63 kilos and am of average size.
I am incredulous. I expected 5-10 years of use from this garden furniture, and it was not cheap. The last set I had from Bridgmans lasted us 10 years. The whole set has been covered for the entire winter months and is still literally falling apart. This is not ‘natural weathering’. It is shoddy workmanship and cheap cuts of cheap wood. I will never buy anything from this company again and want to make others aware before making an important buying decision.

The furniture rotted. Very low quality
The furniture is just so low quality. It was great for the first few years. But it was rotting quietly and then just started to fall apart. It is not solid wood, but some kind of pressed composite which is not properly weather resistant. If furniture is to last when exposed to the elements, it needs to be solid wood. Will never, never buy this brand again.
