I took my BMW to Barretts Ashford recently for a full service, and once again I received truly outstanding customer service from Service Advisor Sophie Simpson and Workshop Technician Jerome Tamongdon.
This is now the third time Sophie and Jerome have looked after my car, and the level of professionalism, communication, and care they consistently provide is absolutely exceptional. From the very first contact with Sophie through to the final delivery of my vehicle back to my home, the entire experience was seamless and first-class.
When I initially contacted Sophie about booking the service, she responded quickly with the earliest available appointment date and a clear quotation for the work. Everything was explained professionally and transparently, which immediately gave me confidence.
On the day of the service, I checked the vehicle in using the self-service system at the dealership, which was quick and convenient. Around an hour after returning home, I received a personalised video from Jerome showing the underside of my car and inspecting the tyres. He carefully explained that the tyre tread depths were still within the legal limits and reassured me that the vehicle was in good condition before beginning the service work, including the oil and filter changes.
A few hours later, Sophie emailed me to confirm that the service had been completed and attached the invoice for payment. One thing I genuinely appreciate about Barretts BMW is their honesty and transparency. They do not simply say, “Service completed — here is your bill.” Their invoices are extremely detailed and itemised, showing every filter, oil, and component used, along with the labour costs. This gives customers complete confidence that the work has been carried out thoroughly and professionally with nothing overlooked.
After I paid online, I asked Sophie whether it would be possible to have the car delivered back to my home. Without hesitation, she kindly arranged it, and within 15 minutes my BMW arrived back on my driveway fully washed, hoovered, and looking immaculate.
What impresses me most about Sophie is the incredible ownership she takes over every repair or service she handles. Her communication with customers is absolutely superb. If additional work is ever required, she always contacts the customer first, explains everything clearly, provides an accurate quotation, and only proceeds once approval has been given. She is professional, efficient, courteous, and genuinely caring — an absolute credit to Barretts BMW.
Jerome is equally impressive. His workmanship is of the highest standard, and I have complete trust in the quality of his repairs and servicing. It is very clear that he is a highly skilled and experienced technician who takes great pride in his work.
Together, Sophie and Jerome make an outstanding team, and in my opinion they both deserve enormous recognition for the exceptional service they provide.
My advice to all BMW owners in Ashford is simple: do not try to save a few pounds by going elsewhere. Take your car to Barretts BMW Ashford. Yes, you may pay slightly more than at an independent garage, but you will receive genuine BMW parts, expert workmanship, outstanding customer care, and complete peace of mind.
The service I received today was absolutely first-class, not only from Sophie and Jerome, but from the receptionists and everyone at the dealership. Highly recommended.
March 2026 - Approved Used Car purchase - AVOID.
A really poor experience - this is my 5th BMW and first time purchasing from Barretts.
I ordered the car remotely for delivery; in his pre-sale video, the salesman concealed paint damage to the vehicle which would have been clearly visible at the time of recording and should have been disclosed.
Upon delivery, the car was poorly prepared - damaged remote key fob, grubby interior, car not valeted, considerable paint correction work required. Barrett’s response was that ‘the vehicle meets BMW standards of preparation’ which I find impossible to believe.
Barretts took the pleasure out of buying a BMW - I cannot recommend them.
I purchased my previous AUC in 2023 from Sytner (also remotely), they were excellent to deal with and the car was exactly as described.
BMW UK - I am a fan of the brand but Barretts shabby operating practices are letting you down.
As always our experience was excellent. Brandon took us through the system set up in our iX3 and now we now have our personal set up for our individual needs. Brandon also showed us how to get the best out of the charging and map system. Joshua also helped us out with an issue (not with the car) which was resolved immediately. The professionalism that all the staff show is is outstanding. This is the reason we have got our last 5 cars here and will be back in a few years for our 6th!

Paid a deposit to reserve a car after they advertised and confirmed it would be held for me. I even received an email saying “Congratulations on reserving a vehicle” and “thank you for your order.” Despite this, the car was sold to someone else.
When I called, I was told they would source a similar car, but I’ve heard nothing since. I’m also still waiting for my deposit to be refunded. Really poor and unprofessional service.
Update a week later - still no refund despite their promise, i've been sent numerous spam emails from them ( i've asked them to remove my details from their records as per data protection legislation) still no contact regarding their claim they'd find me another car
Conclusion - if you pay a deposit they'll still sell the car you reserved, they don't keep their word on what they say they'll do
I'll leave it to you to decide if it's worth buying a car from them

Barrets bmw Canterbury said they would investigate my bmw crash , the brakes failed to engage and no airbags deployed leaving injuries when I called up the denied saying any such thing . I would never buy from Canterbury again
BMW Canterbury absolutely disgraceful customer service terrible help when needed the most following an accident asked them to investigate why my breaks didn’t seem to work properly haveing been in the garage less then 24hrs prior to accident bmw promised to investigate along with why no air bags activated in a 25 mph front end crash (when they should activate at15 mph bmws statement) and why the seat belt didn’t lock in the collision all promised the day after the accident
When I rang up 7 days later to find out any updates they told me they didnt say such things , lie after lie I just hope they don’t have a death on there hands one day due to faulty airbags and safety features not working as they should

Telephone on Saturday and spoke to a very nice lady. I had been run off the road the day before and damaged front wheel rim and wanted to see if I could get a waiting appointment. The lady said she would take my details and speak to Service manager on the Monday. 8.30am Monday morning telephone call to say could I bring car in at midday, which I did. they gave the car a complimentary visual health check, to find everything Ok. Excellent service. Also staff excellent and all very friendly. Must be the best garage, i ever been to,

Used to feel like a family business with fantastic customer service for private buyers. That’s all changed and they seem only interested in fleet customers with no courtesy cars or even a lift home offered when you’re stuck despite having bought 7 cars from them over the last decade. I won’t be going back.

Dishonest sales guy. Promises a price for trade-in and then nitpicks totally unreasonable justifications for reducing price. Should have just walked away but can't be bothered dealing with people who get their kicks ripping off customers just for a few hundred quid in order to make themselves feel like they are super-salesman. Pathetic experience

Had £700 added to my bill from the estimate - No explanation as to why. I paid, will never use these cowboys again. Spent nearly 5k with these people on a servicing issue and they don't even think to offer a courtesy car to a young family, obviously in need. This service was provided for the chap in front of me who needed to get to the golf course. Sigh

After receiving a recall for my BMW X3 I made an appointment to attend Barretts BMW in Canterbury.
I was kept well informed about my appointment. I attended on the 10/12/25 and went to reception where Richard introduced himself in a friendly manner and after informing him we had an appointment he politely asked if we would like a coffee and directed us to the service desk, we booked in the car and Richard then asked if we would like a seat and gave us a nice cuppa.
After the car recall had been finished Ellie then introduced herself and explained the work that had been done and what had been checked and the things that had been picked up. She was polite and friendly whilst explaining.
My experience with both staff was a credit to Barretts BMW both professional and friendly. Thank you
