Excellent tech support
When I purchased my BMW X1 from Barrett’s Canterbury they offered me an opportunity to have a tech support meeting with Brandon to iron out any questions and help me solve any problems that I had encountered during my first few days of having the vehicle.
Being a non technical person I do find with new cars today, that I struggle to pick up the features that are available and the best way to get the most out of them. I did think it was a good idea to have this session and I had prepared a list of things that I was needing help with during my first few days with the vehicle.
Brandon was able to go through with me all the areas that I had raised plus highlighting some others that I had not yet come across.
I found it really worthwhile and saved me a lot of time. It also meant that I can now gain from some of the features which I don’t think I would have found on my own.
Brandon was a really good teacher and very patient.
Excellent service and certainly adds value to my purchase. would thoroughly recommend.

Fantastic service I phoned up Jaguar as I had a problem with my car within four hours. I had some at my house going over the car. They said it would be best for me to take it to Canterbury which I did the service there was fantastic I was greeted at reception which day took me through to another member of the team who would be looking after a vehicle and was informed that I will be kept up-to-date with the diagnostic progress .I was given JLR replacement car while mine was being repaired,every day I was informed on the progress and the problem which they found I cannot fault this service. Absolutely brilliant. Thank you to all the staff and technicians involved.

Really helpful aftersales appointment
Having just bought a used car from Barretts , I was offered an appointment with Brandon to familiarise myself with the technology and functions of the vehicle . So glad I did , as despite my last vehicle being a BMW it was really helpful to have knowledge of all the menus and functions , which just makes life a whole lot easier rather than ‘trial and error ‘ or trawling through the car manual . Really helpful and informative appointment for anyone who has just bought a vehicle .Great customer service thank you.

The reception staff are friendly, not formal, and seem genuinely pleased to welcome you.
The reception area and refreshments are good.
I had a specific appointment to see Brandon to explain how my new car computer worked, and what it could do for me. Brandon is very personable, realised my tech knowledge is very limited and explained everything to me very clearly.

Barretts of Canterbury and my NEW CAR which broke down after after only 130 Miles
On the 1st March 2025 I purchased a new Range Rover from Barretts of Canterbury which cost over £60,000's. After only 130 Miles the car broke down TEN feet from our reserved parking bay at THE Grand Hotel in Eastbourne. The car could NOT be repaired and was taken away on a low loader back to Barretts. The new car and our stay at The Grand Hotel was a birthday treat to me from my wife. A telephone call and an Email from Barretts stated that they would request JLR in recognition of our experience , and due to loss in confidences in our Evoque a gesture of GOOD WILL equal to the cost of our stay at The Grand Hotel. We duly sent off to Barretts the receipts from the hotel. No monies were ever received from Barretts. As Barretts claim to be a family run business who had been trading for over 120 years ,I contacted the Managing Director. In total I sent him FIVE Emails. He did NOT reply to any of these. Eventually I managed to speak to the Franchise Director Barry O'Donogohue. He made the amazing statement that Barretts did not make any money out of selling cars. Therefore I would not be receiving any Good Will Payment despite our experiences with a new car they had sold to me. That remains the case today. I believe that we have been the victims of poor business practises by Barretts who claim to be a family run business.BEWARE !!!!

Brandon was an excellent demonstrator. He had prepared well in advance for the questions we had supplied, and was able to answer them clearly and patiently. He also showed us some neat features we were unaware of, and answered additional off-the-cuff questions with ease. We really appreciated his time and the opportunity to get to know the car better.

Excellent Customer Experience
My experience of Barratts Kent has been excellent. While I did not end up purchasing a car from Barratts, their customer service has been stand out - and I have been test driving and visiting various showrooms across Essex and Kent, over several months, in my hunt for the perfect new car. Lydia was brilliant, calling to let me know of new vehicles coming in, making sure she knew exactly what i was looking for to make sure she was calling for the right reasons, and was a pleasure to deal with. Would definitely recommend Barratts and Lydia.

This is now my second nearly-new car…
This is now my second nearly-new car from Barretts BMW, and on both occasions I’ve dealt with Brad. From communication and negotiations to finding the right spec and more, his service has been impeccable. Having purchased from multiple retailers in the past, I can honestly say the sales experience and aftercare here have been perfect. We’ll definitely be back for another car in the future.

Tried to Book a BMW into Barretts ashford and the whole experiance was nothing but trouble.
In the end I asked to speak to someone else, clearly something was not right, maybe it was me but i wasnt getting anywhere at all. "sorry sir, there is no one else you can speak to" " i will get someone to call you straight back"
How long to receice the call back? Well if i ever get one i will let you know.
Called Maidstone BMW and booked in within 5 minutes without any issue.

Barrette Canterbury …
From the start we dealt with Duncan when purchasing the car who went out of his way to be helpful and said any problems to contact him, which we did when we couldn't understand all of how the dashboard computer worked so in came Brandon who is the computer genius and showed us how to work it. we have been over again since and Brandon has been patient so helpful and polite when explaining it all again. Can't praise Canterbury Barretts highly enough.

A great experience dealing with Aaron Norton, from first contact to collecting the car, Aaron made every effort to make sure the car had the features I desired and a few other nice additions.
No hard sell, just professional and friendly guidance to the right car for me.
Handover was simple but thorough, with everything explained about the car, pairing of phone and connecting Apple Car Play.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Barrett’s and especially Arron Norton to anyone looking for a new or used BMW
