BoQ have become a joke
BoQ have become a joke. 2 weekends running they have put a stop on all of my internet banking (we have 4 personal accounts, 4 SMSF accounts and 21 business accounts). You call the so call Scam line and after repeating yourself 3 times and verifiying your ID i now get told one of the business account had a suspicious transaction. They tell my scam and fraud department dont work onm the weekends and rather than suspend the one account they suspend my entire internet bank making all of personal accounts inoperatiove. Run a mile and dont look back we will moving our entire banking tomorrow to a new bank.
Failed bank
Have been a customer for over 20 years and am disgusted by the amount of issues that seem to be a reoccurring problem. My partner switched banks and I'll be doing the same.
Appalling and unacceptable wait time
Rarely have to call the bank. Have found a dodgy transaction made yesterday. I’ve been on hold for 41 minutes. They’re gone for me. Going down to the branch tomorrow to close my account. $133m profit last year and they make you wait on the dodgy transaction phone number no less! Nope.
**Update. All in all I was on hold for 2 hrs and 53 minutes. Got passed around and hung up on randomly. I’ll never bank with them again.

I got locked out of my own bank…
I got locked out of my own bank account. The only thing it allows me to do is to call to unlock it. I’ve tried calling and ive been on hold for over an hour so far (still on hold). So I’m not able to access any of my money and I’m unable to reach these idiots. Awful service
Poor customer service
BOQ bank tried integrating me over a suspicious deposit and I could not explain the deposit because I was locked out of my account and there customer service is shocking I was on the phone for three days phone calls were I hour the first day then 90 minutes for the other days all I wanted was a bank statement so I was bluntly refused my statement and give no reason people at the customer service have a plastic law enforcement badge and they think they are god and they have the right to close your account and not give you statements so if this is the start of the digital error
The debacle continues
I still don't have full access to my accounts after the debacle of internet/app changeover in November and here we are in February the following year.
Has cost hours of pain for me and the customer service staff who are stuck in the middle of this I.T. mess. Whoever has been overseeing this needs to be removed from the role immediately amd have someone start tidying it up. Why was there no testing of these systems before releasing them to the customers? There appears to be major linkage issues between accounts, app & internet banking page that shouldn't be that hard to fix.
Thanks to the patience of customer service staff they managed to get me online access to one account.
Now I have individual logins for these few accounts. I sometimes have access to transferring funds & still can't even update my address details. They are updated in the internet page and not on the app - the physical statements are going to the app address which doesn't let me update.
I'm so confused I have to have a list & flow chart before I dial so I remwmber what's currently working and what's not.
I've lodged a complaint that has brought no response. I've tried using the online chat and the internet banking site sends me back to the app and the app says no, no help available - got that right anyway.
No service. Wait time over two hours
They locked my app and forced me to call to resolve. Waited one hour in their call centre queue. I then called again at 8 am sharp and waited another hour and still no answer. Would rate them 0 if I could. Now not going to resolve the issue.

Every weekend and every morning before 6am constantly having problems just doing the basics like trying to log on or transfer money from one account too another it's just not good enough seriously considering switching banks !!

What a load of cobblers.BIQ Changed our credit cards to BOQ. From ME bank , no choice! Did it right on Christmas so no working cards !! Couldn’t access accounts ! I had to apply after my husband got his card so I still haven’t got my card!
And now we have to change over all our direct debits which is very inconvenient.

Clunkey app that does not work all the…
Clunkey app that does not work all the time ,poor customer service eg waited for over 1 hour to speak to someone to get my credit card to work but the card shows restricted even though they said it works fine. This is the most incompetent Bank I have ever had the misfortune to deal with and I am a new customer with BOQ who is now applying for a westpac credit card ,cannot wait to dump this shit Bank.
Myboqapp impossible to log in
After trying 4 times for several weeks to get the myboqapp sorted so can view and pay my credit card account, I got through today after waiting 56 minutes !
But was then transferred directly apparently to wait another 12minutes. The woman refused to help me and said she was hanging up and ending the call as security details did not match. Been banking with BOQ for approximately 20yrs and have our home loan with them. Perfect credit history. I was shocked as our details are up to date and have been for some time. My pleas were ignored. Going into our local branch does nothing as they don't handle the credit cards. Ridiculous and we will seriously consider going elsewhere despite singing their praises all these years.

Boq shut the 2 closest branches to me , Sent my card to the wrong address even though I had updated my address months before and Centerlink has better hold times. 30 minutes on hold is an absolute joke.
Dreadful phone banking app
Dreadful phone banking app. Please get with the times. The display of accounts is clunky. ING, NAB AND MACQUARIE BANKS are all capable of setting pin code log-ins and authenticator app to avoid requiring signing in and having to enter your customer number and full password. The account summary is basic. If you have a mortgage and an offset account, the account summary shows the total re-draw available on the mortgage, and not the true owing (unless you click on the account - then you will see the true balance). This is confusing and deceiving.
The completed transaction list is bulky and ridiculously long if you want to check past transactions.
Ugly display. If you enter your password wrong expect to have to call them during office hours to fix. The online option fails to send the sms in due time and almost always takes time to rectify. In this day and age of needing to remember so many passwords, BOQ don't make it easy or secure to establish a pin number instead of needing to remember the password you are forever changing because they don't accept a pin or authenticator app.
Furthermore, every transaction you do, no notification (many banks like Macquarie are already doing this). A simple text message to show you've just tapped your card and made payment isn't hard BOQ. It's also handy when overseas and you'd like to see the conversion cost. BOQ certainly not capable of that, or able to offer anything similar to what online banks can offer.
Outdated. Look to Macquarie or ING if you want an innovative, leading, FREE banking that offers so much more in terms of everyday accounts and savings accounts that actually have good returns and zero fees.

BOQ Issues with call centre staff and BOQ's systems
BOQ are utterly useless and over the past 4 days I had to spend over 4 hours trying to obtain answers to simple questions relating to new accounts I have set up. I have had to do this as the bank did not send me any communication relating to the reduction of a bonus interest rate on my old Fast Track account. The fact that there are 2 different logins to the different accounts is not use friendly. The people in the call centre answering customer calls are very good at apologizing for the issues. As I write this message I am still on hold waiting for someone to assist me.

I have never felt more unwelcome in a place of business. The receptionist at this branch is beyond rude—they are downright hostile. From the moment I stepped inside, they tried their best to chase me out with an incredibly nasty attitude, even it was not busy at all.
Every interaction was filled with visible annoyance and zero professionalism. Not a single smile, just pure resentment. It honestly feels like they were hired specifically to get rid of customers. If you want to be treated like an enemy rather than a client, this is the place for you. Absolutely pathetic.
