Sadly rising costs
Having been a member for quite a few years, it's been really good value, up until recently. An increase in membership cost I can accept but reducing the free child spaces has made it unaffordable for me. I understand having upto five children free with a membership is excessive. But as a single parent to two, paying for a full child place adds to the costs over the year. A real shame there wasn't a compromise in between the two.

Could do Better
I have been a member for many years and have appreciated the benefits that membership brings.
In recent years, we have moved most of our insurance policies away from LV= as they no longer give value for money. Not sure why Boundless have a partnership with them.
I have also paid for Boundless Plus, which includes basic cover for Britannia Rescue. I require greater cover and have to pay for a full policy with them. Hence, it feels like I'm paying twice for this.

The distance is to a lot of events is to far for me
I live in the south of Cornwall which makes going to a lot of the event places a long way to travel but enjoy the benefits of Britania Rescue, which I've had to use a copuple of times.

Too pushy.... website won't let you downgrade from Plus
Trying to renew membership but their pushy website will not let me change down from Plus to regular.
Very annoying.

I wish I had joined long before I did
I wish I had joined long before I did. The money we have saved on entrance fees and holidays has been wonderful. I even got one of my photos in the magazine.

Breaking their contract.
When I subscribed to Boundless it enabled me to visit several Historical venues. I could visit, plus a partner or friend and 4 children. This was changed AFTER I had subscribed saying only me, the holder of the ticket and one child could visit. I felt Boundless had broken the contract it had made with me and they could not be trusted.

Couldn’t contact breakdown services
Couldn’t , get through to the breakdown service,just kept timing out. In the end contacted Boundless and asked them to get the breakdown company to phone us, which they did, got told over 2 hours wait, managed to get the car started ourselves after 2 hours and before any recovery services arrived

Needs more emphasis on motoring.
I’ve been a member of the CSMA for decades and have seen their magazine transform from a periodical you would expect from a ‘Motoring Association’ to a container for travel advertisements and lifestyle advice. The last version of the magazine had 3 pages of motoring articles. I feel it needs to massively increase its content aimed specifically at motoring.

Great discounts on days out
Great discounts on days out, cafes and restaurants. Also have enjoyed using my National Arts Pass (plus one)for discounted visits to exhibitions with my daughter.

Not sure why I bothered
Renewed the higher level of membership to find one of my main perks for being a member has been reduced from two guests to one only. Becoming less good value and like everything it seems more expensive for less.

Whitemead experience
We had booked and paid in full for a weekend at Whitemead. Driving from Rye in our motorhome we experienced an accident in Bath and had to be AA relayed back to Rye. When we contacted Whitemead they refused to return any funds. Although disappointed, as members, we expected some form of voucher towards our next visit at least. In future, we will never book in advance at Whitemead.

We do encourage guests to take out travel insurance to cover unexpected circumstances that may prevent them from travelling. Whitemead runs at very high occupancy and, when a booking is cancelled at very short notice, we’re often unable to resell the accommodation or pitch. Unfortunately, this means our usual cancellation terms still apply.
We’re sorry this left you disappointed and that you weren’t able to enjoy the stay you had planned.
