Good first impesion to deal with but poor delivery
Wrong mertirals which has held up my job costing me time and money and the driver who delivered them turned up in a mood and dropped a stack on celtex all over ny customers driveway which has broke the edges of the boards.

Confirmed Order Cancelled Due to Undisclosed £750 Min Requirement
Ordered construction materials (£220) via Buildingmaterials.co.uk and received order confirmation on 21 Oct. Expected delivery within a week to start building work, but multiple attempts to check estimated delivery time via their automated customer service yielded no useful info. Four days later, got an email cancelling the order due to a £750 minimum order requirement—this critical detail was nowhere to be found in their ordering process, which is basic common sense for any e-commerce platform. They accepted my order (forming a binding buy-sell contract) only to later renege and cancel it. Wasted 4 days waiting; had I known upfront, I would have bought from another supplier immediately. Now forced to reschedule contractors and pay compensation because materials aren’t available. Extremely disappointed that their website can’t even handle such a standard e-commerce process.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re really sorry to hear that your recent shopping experience with us didn’t meet our usual standards.
Our Trade Account Manager, Charlie did send an email the day after your order was placed to let you know it would be cancelled and refunded. It’s possible that message may have landed in your spam or junk folder, which might be why you didn’t see it.
That said, we’ve taken your review seriously and have already worked with both our sales and digital teams to understand what went wrong and to make sure it doesn’t happen again. Here’s what we found:
1. Minimum order value visibility
• It looks like an ad-blocking extension or adblocking browser settings may have prevented some of our on-site messaging from showing correctly by blocking really important cookies being set. This includes a short survey that appears when customers first enter the site, explaining the minimum order value and asking whether they are a trade customer. But also numerous other messages which appear immediately after survey completion and again beside every button that you need to get to the basket and checkout.
• If “No, I’m not a tradesperson” is selected, the site actually prevents checkout unless the minimum spend requirement is met. Unfortunately, this process didn’t trigger as expected in your case and it's a risk associated with using adblocking technology even those you can optionally setup when installing Firefox for example.
• Nonetheless, we’ve already planned updates to ensure this kind of issue can’t happen again, even if more advanced ad blockers are in use.
2. Refund turnaround time
• Charlie emailed as mentioned, however, we completely understand this could have felt slower than expected.
• The slight delay this time was due to an unusually high order volume, but we’ve reviewed our workflow and we’ve now introduced new internal processes to make sure refunds and notifications happen even faster going forward, with less reliance on email notifications too.
We really appreciate your patience and understanding. This was a rare situation and we’re committed to improving our systems so these sorts of things don't happen.

Fantastic service
I’ve been dealing with Becky to provide materials on a couple of projects. Great to work with. I can quickly and easily tweak orders to suit requirements.
