Nothing short of abysmal.
Our experience with Chadwick Law was nothing short of abysmal. There was a complete lack of organisation and communication from start to finish and it has put us off selling another house. Instead of making the process easier, their defunct and pointless app only added another layer of frustration to an already poorly managed situation. The entire experience was shamefully handled by our caseworker, James, and despite phone calls, emails, formal complaints and Partner involvement, the process dragged out at snails pace. There were times when we thought the sale could fall through due to lack of progress. I would strongly advise anyone to avoid this firm at all costs—the name Chadwick Law will haunt us for years.

Really disappointed with the service…
Really disappointed with the service received.
Iman Rafiq was my case handler and everything seemed to be going well until I checked that we were on track to agree on exchange and completion dates, I was then told that they had not received signed paperwork that I had sent via the post over a month prior. So I then paid £11.45 to ensure the copy of documents were received the next day by 1pm. I asked Iman to send me blank copies of all missing paperwork (please remember this...). Once the letter was received Iman said we were ready to agree an exchange date... to then be told that even more paperwork was missing. I raised this with Iman, as I had asked her to send me blank copies of all missing paperwork which I signed, posted and paid £11.45 for the privilege to then be told that even more was missing. I pushed back on this and said I would not be paying to resend and they needed to sort this out. Iman phoned me back within 5 minutes to say she had found the missing paperwork and she'd had "an assistant that was rubbish at filing paperwork". Think this statement is completely out of order and she should not be telling customers things like this... it is completely unprofessional. I truly believe ALL missing paperwork had been found that afternoon and so me paying £11.45 to send paperwork was a complete waste of my money and time.
I sent my deposit and funds over to then realise that the completion statement was incorrect and for the second time during this purchase they had overstated the amount I was getting via mortgage... so in fact I owed them more money! Luckily I was on top of this otherwise we would have got to completion day and been missing money. I think this is extremely poor and I had previously flagged the amount they were stating I was receiving via mortgage was too high. It made me really lose confidence in Iman and the firm, I should not have had to check details like this and raise it not once but twice. Iman stated that she would confirm once the full balance had been paid (over two payments as the completion statement was incorrect so a second payment was made). I received nothing from Iman so I chased her to receive a blunt email back saying she was no longer dealing with my case and I had to contact the completions team... I only emailed her for confirmation as she said she would confirm that she had received my funds... talk about hot and cold!
Disappointed and would not recommend.
If you're buying/selling a house go somewhere else...
If you want to feel as important as a number on a spreadsheet of 1000s then this is the company for you.
Mine was a simple purchase, I had no house to sell and the apartment was already vacant so 0 chain involved. The only factor which I realised would add a little delay would be because it was a leasehold rather than a freehold.
I was going to name names but I don't think it's fair on those people, the issues below come from higher up as I get the feeling they're overworked and/or under staffed.
Point 1 - Awful communication
They very rarely come to you, you'll spend half your life trying to get information from them and emails can go ignored for days and even over a week. This is from their auto reply.....
"Please note that sending additional emails or calling will not speed up the response time and may delay our ability to assist you."
I mean, nothing says you're a valid customer to them than "sod off and leave me alone" in their auto-replies.
I sent in a couple of emails to their complaints department but, 2 months later I've had nothing outside of a "we're in receipt of your email"
I emailed Neil Wilson directly but didn't get any response, I however was forwarded to somebody else who was the shining light in the process and she got things done so thank you to her, I'll keep your name out of this but thank you.
On the 24th August I was told that the customer service manager would call me "today", well... coming up to 2 months now and still no call from them. That just sums up their poor level of customer care.
Point 2 - Mistakes
Check everything they send you because some of it will be wrong, for example I had to do a proof of funds but they'd put the "house value" as the value they were checking which was obviously no where near. When I contacted Chadwick Lawrence I was told to call the app support line, I told them I know how to use tech as I'm an IT manager but no, they wouldn't listen so off I went to the app support team who duly sent me back to Chadwick Lawrence to fill the request out properly ... just as I had said in the first place.
Point 3 - Over-charging.
Check your bill, I had loads of things taken off my bill which they added. The worst one was for a "Deed of Variance", for those who don't know, mortgage lenders may not like the ground rent agreement on the leasehold so they will request a change to the agreement and this is the "deed of variance". The important thing is, this is arranged and paid for by the seller, not you the buyer. Anyways, despite their only involvement was telling the seller than my mortgage provider has asked for one, they charged me nearly £500 ... which, according to the estate agent, was significantly higher than the seller paid to actually get the thing done.
Point 4 - Long Delays
With the poor communications comes the long delays, the whole process moves along very slowly. For reference, the whole purchase took just 2 days under 11 months from offer to keys. It feels like they have a process 1 - 2 - 3 - ... - 10. If they get an issue in step 1 then they stop despite not needing to complete item 1 to do item 2. There is not sense of knocking off what they can on all 10 steps and then waiting.
As a result of their slow processes, my mortgage offer expired and I had to go through the mortgage process again, Chadwick Lawrence then charged me for it as they had to write another report .... they caused the delay.....
Point 5 - General Incompetence.
I started out with Person A, after several months I was suddenly transferred to Person B. In April, Person A tells me that there was just one outstanding issue before we can move on. Suddenly, in May Person B tells me there are 6 new, unrelated queries. I take it Person A was just incompetent then?
Point 6 - They'll argue against you
When I first got the mortgage I explained where the deposit was from and this was accepted by my mortgage provider, fast forward many months.
I explained the Chadwick Lawrence where the deposit was coming from, exactly the same way I'd explained it to my mortgage provider, however they sent a different explanation to the mortgage provider and they rejected it. I then spent days going between my mortgage provider who repeatedly said this was acceptable to them and my own conveyancer who refused to accept this and was actually battling against me. I HIRED YOU for crying out loud. In the end I had to go to my own dad to get the deposit just to keep it moving forward, I was of course charged again by Chadwick Lawrence because he's "old school" and will not connect his banks to his phone so they had to manually check it.
I could go on....
I'm sure I'll get the semi-automated reply from Neil telling me to go through the complaints procedure, been there, done that and got nothing back so clearly that doesn't work either.
Excellent service

Avoid this law firm if you’re buying a property.
I’d put zero stars if I could.
My experience with this firm has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing. A property transaction that has now been ongoing for eight months is still nowhere near completion, with little sense of progress or clear communication throughout.
Communication has been consistently poor, with lengthy delays in receiving responses and, when replies do arrive, the information provided is often vague and fails to offer clear answers or a practical way forward. I have also found the overall level of professionalism and willingness to communicate with others involved in the transaction extremely abhorrent.
There appears to be very little support or continuity when the person handling the matter is unavailable, which only adds to the delays and frustration. For something as important as buying a home, I would expect a much more responsive, organised and professional service.
I appreciate that property transactions can be complicated, but eight months with no clear path to completion and such poor communication is simply not the standard of service I would expect.
I would be very reluctant to use this firm or recommend it to anyone buying a property. I would strongly encourage prospective clients to consider their options carefully before instructing them.

Avoid this company at all costs.
Avoid this company at all costs.
Communication was shocking throughout our sale. Jess and Raabia were impossible to speak to on the phone, never answered or called back. Whenever I asked for an update or had questions to ask they always came back with the same response, it’s 5 working days turnaround with communication unless you pay an extra £400. We honestly felt like we did not have a conveyancer working for us, after purchasing and selling many properties we have never experienced a service like this. I was constantly stressed and in tears about our lack of professional involvement. To make matters worse they lost our signed contract and transfer documents, they were signed for and logged onto their system, then went missing. The big issue with that was that we live abroad and had to fly back and sign new documents and post back at considerable high cost and distress to ourselves due to their incompetence.
At the very end of our sale I have to say that Vina became involved and things suddenly became much smoother.
I made a complaint of course and involved Sam’s conveyancing as I went through them, they helped but communication never improved.
Just save yourself the stress and avoid this company!

Good Support
What nade the difference, was having Liam, Kyra and Giovanni, as part of my team, who suppoted me with the purchase of my home.
They kept me informed and updated and sent out all papers via email, explanning what I needed to do at each stage and the tine scales.
The firm, has a user friendly app and if you need help. The team is there to suppprt you, with any questions you have.
Although buying and selling is stressful, they reminded me this is normal and to be expected.
Thank you seems a small word to use, but I am eternally grateful for the support of Chadwiic Law, Liam,Kyra and Giovanni.
One of the things to remeber is the date your mortage offer expires, that is down to you and your mortage advisor to keep an eye on.
Remember not to start any purchase until you have secure your mortgage offer and passed all checks.
