Have worked with Ditch or Date on a number of occasions as a host and always have the best experience! Not only are the team themselves great fun, but the participants were fab on Valentine’s Night. Always good vibes, no matter what the age group! Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to meet new people!

Replying to your comment. I am.now reporting you to trading standards for your inaccurate acusations. Im done with someone who has told so many lies. Firstly i left the review prior to you replying when you did apologised for late reply due to your mum. I hope shes well..
One email said I booked the wrong age however I tried to book another date to try this as I know when booking there was no option to book an age group. On your 2nd email you contradicted this stating you can't book an age group I asked for clarification on this with no reply.. why send a link here for Belfast as its Glasgow we booked and tried again for the march event just to confirm you cant select an age bracket nor book an aged event .accusing us of being tipsy on arrival is disgusting and extremely unprofessional i don't know where you got this from considering you were not there. I expect a full apology. Yes my friend bought a prosecco from the bar however I am currently on heavy medication for cancer which does not enable me to be tipsy nor drunk. This is disgusting.. also we didn npt even know where the tpilets were until the break so where you feel it appropriate to give false information is also appauling, anyway the reviews from others seem consistant with mine in some way so people can decide for themselves. you have to admit my review is genuine or you would not have offered a free date next time which we will decline due to your horrible accusation.
Anyone looking to book this i urge you to try and book an age group it doenst exist.. also we were not an hour late we were told we were perfect timing as the guy were ready to move round.

Advertised as 2 age groups. Mine was age 38 to 49. I assumed there would be 2 separate rooms, however it was clear on arrival numbers were too low for this split and lumped into one. Furthermore 3 guys out of 12 left due to their only being 6 ladies.
I found it a waste of time since I was speed dating 23 and 26 year olds at age 48 there was one guy age 40 being the oldest. I found myself being polite and making useless conversations. A waste of £20. I feel this should have been advised in advance to avoid disappointment. I don't live in the city so the cost to travel plus the ticket was a complete waste. We should have been offered a refund or another date to come along based on the situation. 2 guys outright asked for my number saying they would love to take Mlme out and clearly marked date in front of my face. In fact one guy scored the previous ladies he met off his list saying he only wanted to date me.. so I was also confused to find an email from the organisation stating I had no matches or friends.. not that I mind as the age was an issue for me. Furthermore there were no guidance on how these matches would be given to us. Only once I asked and was told our mobile numbers are given unless we leave it off the sheet and just use an email. That's when I scored mine off the sheet you don't know who you are dealing with. I thought the sheet with my details was for office use only. Thankfully I asked bet others didn't know this.. also there was another person of the same name how did they differentiate between us if all the guys were doing was writing down a 1st name? I would like this explained

On arrival I was instantly greeted by the host who was very friendly and talked you through what the plan was I found it was fun better than online dating as I think we have all had our own nightmare there 🐈🐟 to start with anyway I enjoyed it which was most important I’ll be back!

I've been to several nights in Manchester and always had a great evening!
Was slightly nervous at first but the host Henry made us all feel relaxed, he has a really friendly and calm demeanor about him and explained everything in simple terms for me to understand.
Ok so now onto the actual event, it was really fun and relaxed with some gorgeous & genuine girls looking to meet someone on the same page is fantastic.
The organiser Helen is also fantastic, as there was a slight mixup on one of the events (my fault) and she was able to get everything sorted without any hesitation.
Will definitely be going again, not sure about the negative reviews are from, some people will literally complain just for the sake of it.
Once again I've been numerous occasions, had a great evening and have had matches to!

Had a great time at ditch or date in Manchester, it was my first time speed dating so was a little nervous but the host Henry made me feel at ease and had a great night! Can definitely recommend to someone who wanted to try speed dating as we got to go out afterwards and explore the city with the host, making the night even better!

It was really great event to experience, it gives me a chance to meet and chat with a number of ladies. I liked the place, Lola Manchester, which is ideal with the time to get free parking. Afterall the main thing is the event inside, the humble guy Henry was so much helpful, from registering to the end so that we were able to focus on the date. I wasn't lucky to meet my soulmate but sure i will try again.

I really enjoyed it. It was my first time attending this kind of events in Manchester at Lola Lo. Henry, the host was absolutely very kind, patient, helpful and available for any questions from the beginning. Infact he explained to me and my friend how Ditch or Date worked and given the fact that there were more men than women, he worked out with estreme professionalism and calm how to handle the situation in order to let the event go smoothly. I was even impressed by his excellent and warm welcome from the moment i stepped into the pub. He made my friend and myself feel at ease. Additionally, Henry took us all out after the event to grab a drink so to spend another couple of hours altogether. It was really a lovely night for all of us because even guys as well as the other girls liked him too, which made everyone at the event more relaxed. He made all of us feel as we were already a group of friends. I am so grateful that i met Henry because thanks to him, my friend and i had absolutely a wonderfullll night . I would higly recommend it.

I had a Fantastic time on Dicth or Date. Had alot of fun and laughed with people. Thank you to Henry who manged and able to deliver this great experience , very polite and friendly and invited everyoneas a group on a night out in which we really had the best time and celebrating .😊

My brother and I have attended numerous speed dating events in Manchester hosted by Henry and have always had a great night.

The first time we attended we were very nervous but Henry made us feel very at ease making us laugh when we arrived.

What stood out most about Henry was his enthusiasm and positivity. He made me feel confident talking to the girls after initially being scared too! It’s amazing how comfortable he makes you feel. By the end of the night I felt like I’d known him for years!

Now, as fate would have it, I am happily married and no longer in the market for speed dating, but I can't help but look back on my experience with Henry's events with fondness. I highly recommend his speed dating events to anyone in Manchester who is single and looking to meet new people in a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere. Even my brother, who is usually quite reserved, couldn't stop singing Henry's praises for weeks after the event.

In response to the negative review below, Mr Anonymous has obviously taken a dislike to Henry because all the girls at the event fancied him (as he was certainly a hit with the ladies at the events I’ve attended!)! If Henry was so rude then it doesn’t make any sense why he stayed for the after party with him?! In fact if all the guys felt like that as he says, then no one who would have stayed for the after party! Doesn’t add up to me!

Attended This event in Manchester last week had a good experience and highly recommend it there was more guys then girls and 3 girls walked out before the event started which I guess can happen at these events, the event started later then the set time but was understandable because of the bad weather last week i unfortunately was unable to go on to the night out with others after this event because of shoulder pain I have had for the last few weeks unsure if that effected my chances of matches the host hosted the event well gave clear instructions on how the event is set and what we the occupants had do to ensure all dates are in number order and the previous event I attended as well and I look forward to attending future events possibly next months

I went on a speed dating event in Manchester. It was extremely well organised, very nicely laid out and displayed. Everyone there was happy to help and assist with anything I needed. Would definitely recommend to anyone or even go again to hopefully meet the one.

I went on a speed dating event in Manchester as a guy. Overall good experience. Nice venue (Lola Lo) and most importantly nice participants. The number of men were more than women which from my understanding is natural in speed dating and they can still function even when the numbers aren't even.

The main downside was the host's attitude with the guys. He seemed uninterested and borderline derogatory/rude when briefing and interacting with the men. This doesn't help your confidence in a dating environment. He seemed to want to get it done and join the after party where he could socialise with the girls too (the after party wasn't an official part of the experience). That is fine and could potentially be a good thing. But seeing the "friendly" and sociable side of the host with girls in contrast to his semi-unprofessional treatment of guys, emboldened it and left a bad taste.

That being said, it was a net positive experience. It is a nice way of meeting new people. I might try it out again in the future (which is why I am posting this anonymously).

The delay or other things were not a real issue. The 'looking down upon' attitude was quite consistent and not an isolated incident. We also briefly discussed with other guys after the event about it (while we were waiting to go out). I don't know why they didn't mention but I am guessing the reason is that they didn't want to go through the hassle of providing a feedback. Given that you say you have worked with him for a long time, I am sure he is normally good and assume he was just having the odd bad day. I wanted to pass this information to you somehow. Please do with this as you will. It is a free feedback. Thank you.

I booked on to an event at Lola Los (seems to be a theme as it's mentioned by others) and the event was called off the night before. I asked for a refund but it was refused with the reason given that the event had moved to the following Wednesday and 5 days notice are needed. However an option was given to attend a future event so I did and that event was also cancelled except this time I got no notice and arrived at an empty bar. Asked for a refund again and got a muddled response of the option to attend another one, and then also an email that said a refund would also be given, so not wanting to waste my time again I replied and accepted to the refund only.
No refund came through. I sent a follow up email and have had no reply.
In my opinion and based on other replies here it seems they do run legitimate events but they also have a tendency to put on sham events and simply take peoples money.
I've reported the company to trading standards and I recommend others that this has happened to do the same as there is clearly some shady practices going on that need addressing.

I have had the honour of getting to work with Helen and aiding Ditch or Date’s online exposure. She has been an absolute gem! Helen’s commitment to help people find meaningful connections through ‘Ditch or Date’ is truly inspiring, and I can’t recommend her enough!

I attended Ditch or Date events in the past (both with friends and also solo) and always had such a great time.

I've met some lovely folks from all walks of life, and it's a fantastic way to fall in with new types of people without any pressure!

The venue is just lovely, and it's great having a private area of the bar for the event to take place.

The events are very well organised from the top right down and the atmosphere is great.

I enjoyed the events so much, I now host them too!

I first heard of Ditch or Date last year & went with a friend - we had an absolute ball & our host was so accommodating! The venue is perfect, a great vibe for speed dating.

Fast forward to this year & I am now hosting! Helen is the loveliest woman & she is running an amazing behind the scenes operation to make these events possible. I feel so lucky to be part of the Ditch or Date family & feel that I can connect really well with our singles having participated previously.

I had a great experience with Ditch or Date. The event was very well organised, the hostess was very friendly and welcoming, and the venue was fun and trendy. I would highly recommend their events to others.

I have attended this companies events a number of times now since 2014. It is well run by event staff and I will continue to attend until I find a partner. So I will be going back a lot I guess.
