I rang them but was advised that because they were an agent for Octopus Energy they could speak to me. Octopus are get no reply when they try

We’re sorry for the confusion and frustration caused by the communication around the update.
To clarify, the battery was not faulty. It required a firmware update from the manufacturer, Fox. The update could not initially be completed remotely, and Fox advised that a USB update would be required. While there was a delay in receiving this from the manufacturer, the update was subsequently completed remotely by Fox.
As the installation partner, our responsibility was to deliver and install the system, and our team worked carefully with Fox and Octopus to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. We therefore feel the review does not fully reflect the circumstances, as the delay related to a manufacturer firmware process outside our control.
We can confirm that the system has been up and running correctly since 14 September 2026 and is performing as expected. We do, however, apologise that this was not communicated more clearly at the time.

I found the process of arranging the installation poor overall, with EcoProviders seemingly forgetting about the installation until chased. Communication was disappointing and when the installers arrived some of the equipment was unavailable and having to be chased by the onsite installation team. Little prior notice of installation was given and whilst the installation itself was pleasing the broken tile fragments and nails left on the drive caused me hours of work to pick up (gravel drive) to avoid a car tyre puncture.

Thank you for your honest feedback. We’re sorry you had to chase your installation and received so little notice, and that missing equipment caused further difficulties on the day.
You also shouldn’t have been left spending hours clearing tile fragments and nails from your gravel drive. Leaving your property clean and safe is part of completing the job properly, and we apologise for the additional work and concern this caused.

Excellent service from start to finish — well worth the wait!
We were referred to EcoProvider through Octopus for our solar panel installation, and we’ve been thoroughly impressed with the whole experience.
From the outset, their quote was very fair and competitive, and the 10% upfront deposit felt completely reasonable compared to other providers. Communication throughout the planning phase was brilliant — the team was always approachable and answered all of our questions and concerns swiftly and clearly.
The only minor drawback was the waiting time between signing up and installation. However, given how high demand is for solar right now, this was understandable and they kept us informed. The quality of the service and peace of mind made it well worth the wait. Highly recommended!

The installation took place in one day, and we were impressed with the team that carried out the work.

Reflections a year on from air source heat pump installation
We have had our air source heat pump installed for a year now and have just had the first year service
The heating engineer told us that this was one of the best installations he had seen and often came across 'shockers' in his line of work
There was very little to clear from the filter. So excellent service and hats off to the installation team.
Our Insulation team were phenomenal too and our bedroom has been so warm over the winter, rarely going below 16 degrees even on very cold nights and with a house built in 1830s!
