EEC Solar installed my panels and system 3 years ago and it’s never missed a beat!, The install was great and it’s worked perfectly since, Before committing to batteries I wanted to see if the predictions of generation was true (which is was) so I have just signed up for a battery system to be added, Corey at EEC ran through all the options available and gave me a great deal, I can’t recommend these people enough, they have been in the business a long time and know what’s what, knowledge of what’s available and quality of install is second to none!

Roof repair and solar panel inspection following Storm Debbie
Our roof with our solar PV panels was damaged during storm Debbie. They repaired the roof and replaced the panels back onto the repaired roof. There were a couple of hiccups along the way with the scaffolding and one or two other issues, but once Jamie (MD I think?) got involved it was all resolved very successfully. Particular mention must go to roofer Stuart, who was an absolute star/hero! Worked SO hard to get the job done. I cannot praise him highly enough. Honourable mentions must also go to Ryan and Craig who did great work on site plus Tim in the office for his organisation. They installed the Solar Edge system for us five years ago and on the odd occasion we’ve had a problem with it, it’s been sorted very quickly. I would recommend them unhesitatingly.

Very poor customer service
We were due to have solar panels and a battery installed on the 8th December, early evening on the 6th December I had a call from the roofer, asking if he could come in and install the solar panels on Thursday 7th, we agreed to this, but he did not turn up on the 7th, and made no effort to contact us…… at 1620 on the 7th I had a call to say the installation on the 8th was cancelled due to poor weather, I queried whether any further date could be cancelled due to poor weather and was told “ for full transparency we are over running on a large commercial job and can’t leave it”, I said I would ring back on the 8th to let them know if I wanted to continue with the contract
I rang on the 8th to cancel, and after speaking to two people was told the installation had been cancelled, and that my deposit would be returned in 3-5 days, I then had a follow up call from a manager asking if I definitely wanted to cancel ( I did!), and a missed call from the designer, who I rang back and left a message…. But no response from him
I then received an e-mail from the managing directors p/a, stating that my refund wouldn’t be done till the 22nd December, when I queried why it would take so long, another e-mail stated ‘under our terms 14 days from cancellation’, with a line underneath saying if you would like to re-instate the contract then ring us!, I get the feeling that no dept knows what the other is doing, and after reading some reviews on here about no customer care once the system has been installed, and being charged £195 to replace a battery that was covered under warranty, I think I made the right call cancelling

We acknowledge that we fell short of your expectations, as the engineers scheduled to undertake the installation, had been delayed on their previous install. As a company established for over 30 years we don’t come across this situation very often and I deeply regret the stress and dissatisfaction caused.

EEC SolarEdge System failures
Our SolarEdge system was installed about seven years ago and worked well until August 2021 when it stopped communicating with the app. This meant that I had no way of knowing what the system was doing. The system manufacturer, SolarEdge, blamed BT for that problem, but BT were unable to assist. I have now moved to Vodafone, but they were unable to help either. Then nearly a year ago, my FIT company advised that my system was not generating what it should. After several failed attempts to resolve these problems, EEC eventually sent someone who installed a new optimiser, but found that the inverter's communication board had also failed. They ordered a replacement from SolarEdge and fitted it. Unfortunately, SolarEdge failed to advise EEC that they would need to do further work to get it operating properly, they came this morning and have resolved fully. It appears that the root cause of this sorry tale is that SolarEdge were too ready to blame my firewall, rather than actually send someone who could resolve these issues, and they mislead EEC into thinking that I should be able to resolve it myself. Anyway, it is now fully working again thanks to some serious involvement by EEC senior management.

Few minor snagging issues after fitting dealt with and resolved very quickly.
All staff from sales, admin and site engineers very friendly, helpful and professional.

We had EEC install solar panels in 2021…
We had EEC install solar panels in 2021 - a good experience because, though all didn't go well initially EEC sorted it. At that time we gave them a good review
The Shine App on the phone, where you can see what's happening with your electricity ins and outs, didn't work for long. Fortunately our loft is easy to access so I could check on our inverter when I wanted to.
Recently, having been changed onto Octopus Energy and their various tariffs I've wanted to control import and export of electricity so needed the App to work.
Initially EEC sent emails with instructions that I don't understand. It didn't matter how many emails, I still didn't understand. EEC have, at last, sent an engineer.
2+ hours later the app still isn't working. It seems it's a Growatt problem. The engineer will come back to fix it once Growatt have sent a new piece of the equipment needed.
EEC customer service have been very responsive - once I raised a complaint. I believe they are doing their best with the tools they have.
My advice still would be to do your research on a company local to you. Go look at their work, talk to their customers and use them in preference to a company 5+ hours away, as we did

I recently bought a house which already EEC solar panels installed. After moving in, it became clear there was an issue with the solar panels generating energy.
EEC arranged for an engineer, Craig Ball, to come and identify the problem. Craig was fantastic from start to finish. Very friendly, professional, explained the issue and fixed the problem. I also had a follow up call with Tim Hillman as there was some confusion with the call-out fee. Tim was also brilliant and solved the matter really efficiently. Would definitely recommend based on my experience with Craig and Tim.

Beware
I have previously been a customer of EEC (Solar) for a solar panel installation and my experience was good.
Sadly they now use their mailing list to bombard me with text messages about storage battery offers. I have used the unsubscribe link multiple times with no success. I have also contacted them by email requesting they remove me from their mailing lists (in accordance with GDPR regulations), but STILL the text messages keep coming.
I am considering a battery installation, but EEC will not be on my shortlist.
If you are considering using EEC, be aware you might then get a lots of spam text messages …

On time, no problems
