My Story with Fedcap Reading
When the Job Centre advised me to sign up with Fedcap Reading, I was doubtful of their ability to get me a job. I thought it was just more Job Centre.
I couldn't have been more wrong.
My advisor was Charlie McNeill, and he delivered services to me that I can never hope to repay.
Services that Charlie McNeill of Fedcap Reading delivered to me:
1- He helped me remake my CV and cover letter, increasing my visibility to employers by making sure the CV was relevant to the job advert
2- Advised me with Fedcap courses designed to improve my chances of getting employed, and improve my understanding of the job market
3- Paid for my travel to and from Fedcap (keep in mind the Job Centre doesn't do this, so always try to align your Fedcap appointments with theirs, to save on money and time)
4- Advised me to undertake an administration course (Level 2), as well as a sports course. They enhanced my CV, and showed that I wasn't wasting my time during employment gaps
5- Undertook sessions with me and other Fedcap customers to investigate leads on potential jobs
6- Assisted me with my mental health, by pointing me in the direction of Fedcap staff, who specialised in this field
7- Invited me to numerus job fairs, which resulted in me securing several intreviews
8- Paid for a whole new suit for my interviews (which I still wear from time to time!)
Overall, my experience with Fedcap Reading was that of growth and evolution, which will live with me forever.
When I left the job Fedcap helped me find, I utilised the skills gained from Fedcap, and quickly found my current job.
Before Fedcap, I was unemployed for three years. The time between leaving my first job and finding the second job was two and a half weeks. If this doesn't prove the effectiveness, strength, knowledge and relevancy of Fedcap's staff, I don't know what will.

Fedcap organisation helped me so much
Fedcap organisation helped me so much. Is not about institution is all about people who worked there. I was so fortunate meet one of the most positive, empathy and amazing work couch. Since day one she had my trust as her attitude towards me was so gentle and open. She gave me time to recover, increased my skills to have ability to find dream job. She was open to my suggestion and never pushed anything what I wont like.
I received lots of free courses and mental support. That was very good experience and I will never forget Monique and what she have done to me. She didn’t treat me as Im another number, she treat me as I’m Human.
I wish to add that on the end of my journey I had to change a couch for another name Claire and she was also amazing and friendly towards me.

Amazing!
My time at Fedcap Reading has been amazing so far.
The courses on offer, designed to help bolster resilience, confidence and drive were well thought out and expertly executed.
In particular, my Employment Adviser, Saffron Browne has been genuinely instrumental in preparing me for onward interviews and employment.
She has imparted more insight and knowledge than I was aware of, and is a pleasure to work with.
I cannot that her (and Fedcap) enough.

My work coach Michael was great help
My work coach Michael was great help. Everything was very fast as I wanted it to be. He helped me get a CScs card as well as other helpful courses to help me get on employment again. I must say I really have appreciated the help and it has beaten all expectations. Thanks again for all the help
Brilliant help for getting back into work
Michael at the Reading office was brilliant, he helped me find my current job and was on the ball with everything; made sure I had work clothes, interview clothes, helped me get my CSCS card, let me know about every opportunity he heard of. He was also down to earth and incredibly kind, asking how my day was and making sure I could afford to get to the office and to work as well.
The office was very clean and the rest of the staff were friendly, and the amenities were great too.
I currently work at Fedcap Employment…
I currently work at Fedcap Employment as an ESC and love my job. I’m lucky to have a great supportive team, with an amazing senior ESC manager (DM), that understands and cares about my well-being as well as supporting me to be the very best at what I do. One of the best managers and teams I’ve had the pleasure of working with.
Glassdoor blocking employer reviews
If you’re considering joining the ESC team, think twice. The expectations are completely unrealistic, and the targets are impossible to achieve. Instead of receiving support, you’re constantly made to feel like you’re not good enough—especially during morning calls where the regional manager seems to thrive on putting people down.
There is absolutely no real backing for individuals, and instead of being trusted to do the job you’ve been hired for, you’re micromanaged to an extreme level—even if you’ve come from a senior role with relevant experience. The pressure is relentless, and the lack of appreciation makes it unbearable.
To make things worse, they recently brought in a new manager who, while a decent guy, is completely ineffective because it’s obvious he’s being controlled by someone else. He tries, but every decision he makes is dictated by a ‘puppet master,’ leaving him powerless. You almost feel sorry for him, but at the end of the day, it just adds to the dysfunction.
It is a big con. Don't waste your time
Totally useless and a waste of taxpayers money. You are better off looking for work yourself. I have been with them for months now and only given two jobs to apply for, both of which I didn't get anywhere with.
Incompetent
I find the staff to be incompetent. I received appointment information which is incorrect on more than one occasion. Went on a 3 day course and left after the first day because I did not need to be on it. The instructor admitted that he was only given the role if he registered as self employed. He also stated under his breath that he had mental health issues. He was using a CV format that was old, Times New Roman font with 12 point, which is the default settings in Microsoft Word when it was first introduced in 1990. He told people to only put their most recent job on the CV. The reason for this is because he was using the CV format from the CV that the Armed forces Resettlement Service had given him when he left the military and he had had only had one job at that time. Kept stating that by using this CV format that it had a 95% success rate of getting an interview but he really meant that it had a 95% of getting your email spammed with job alerts after uploading to employment/job websites.
Recently had a Better Off Calculation done about working x amount of hours per week - these calculations were all wrong and then tried to tell me that the DWP should be paying me over double the amount of money that they are now, which is also wrong. This organisation needs to be audited by the Government..
Charlie McNeill
My name is Zade Hasanpapaj, I want to write this review for my Manager Charlie. I am very happy to be at Fedcap, and especially under Charlie's help. He has worked and is working on preparing documentation for work, drafting CVs, and sending many @ to find work. He also helped me today for two hours about the application for an e-visa, which I have lost my BRB card. I feel privileged at Fedcap, where I can have access to the internet, do job interviews, meetings, discussions
Belittling, bullying and stressful sales team - DON'T SIGN THE DATA RELEASE FORM
I found the whole process to be belittling, bullying and stressful.
I attended all appointments and meetings set by the DWP during my time on UC. I also worked the entire time. As I couldn't hit the baseline amount with the hours I worked around childcare it meant it helped me to stay on universal credit.
The restart scheme talked to me as if I wasn't able or prepared to take on work. When I stated I didn't want to share my personal data the worker got the manager to come down and both of them attempted to bully me into signing the data release form. The outcome being I was "threatened" that my work coach would be told.
I was told I would need to attend compulsory sessions on how to do interviews and group work on social skills. I am not a moron. I have worked all my life. I have a Masters. I was grateful of the Universal Credit service that helped support us through lockdown and having a new child and the upheaval that brought with jobs. I'm sure there are some people who do intend to stay on benefit but that was not my plan and I was constantly working throughout.
In the end I found the restart scheme so stressful and bullying that I chose to end my claim rather than put up with the service. I guess in that way the restart scheme does get people off benefit. I literally can't imagine what it must be like for people with learning disabilities or other complex needs to have to deal with the serious bullying the service employs. It was very clearly a sales team directed at getting you "sold" into any job without regard for the individual or their situation - despite the pages of onscreen questions they go through to "tailor" the service. I have never experienced such a blatant data mining sales force as this company and I am worried for others who will be forced to attend and be unable to stand up to them. The whole company should be shut down and I'm astonished it is affiliated with government.
Impersonel
Impersonel, AI Q&A sessions. Very little help. Would recommend to stick with the job centre and refuse any invitations.
Abusive and unpleasant personnel
I was a Fedcap customer in Macclesfield.
They promised to get me back to work and support me, and that any issues I had would be dealt with in a civil, non-confrontational manner.
When I raised the fact that I was not receiving the support I was promised, I was subjected to an intensely uncomfortable and highly confrontational experience that I would not recommend to anyone suffering from self-esteem issues or mental health. This was not from a member of staff, but management.
Whatever safeguards you have in place mean nothing to them. They will tear through them like paper if you so much as question them.
I would advise anyone considering reaching out to Fedcap for help back to work, or for career advice, to find other organisations that will actually support and care about you.
The staff I dealt with at Fedcap have no business being in a position where they're working with vulnerable people.
