Lovely Lunch
We went to the Pride Park Restaurant, We were met by Harriet who took us to our table. Harriet was so friendly explained the menu, and answered any query's We had.
My husband had 3 items from the Crispy Calamari,Crispy Tempura King Prawns & Sweetcorn Empanadas.
I had the Calamari & Cherry Tomato Tart. and a bottle of wine.I would like shout to Gibbo the cne;l n
Bread rolls used to be nice
Bread rolls used to be nice, but have been replaced with the worst cheapest rolls imaginable. Portions are smallest ever and prices higher than ever. Burger had too much tooth and bone and tasted cheap and almost unpleasant. And then they wouldn't redeem the 25% off octopus voucher despite our meal qualifying for it. We won't ever go there again.
I can't believe all the add ons
I can't believe all the add ons. My child had a kids meal that came with 3 add ons. And it's all in small print on the menu. One of the add ons was some ice cream with the brownie. Wasn't told until the bill came. Plz do be careful when ordering. I wouldn't go back. Because I feel I've been taken.
We had lunch at Harvester Blunsdon…
We had lunch at Harvester Blunsdon Swindon today, chose from the lunch menu, my husband went for fish and chips , I decided on the Simply Classic Chicken Breast, I went with mash and gravy and it also came with one floret of broccoli and peas.To say the chicken breast was overcooked is an understatement, it was dry and stringy, too long under the grill all juiciness gone.No one came and asked till we finished the meal, I left my chicken as it was inedible, three mouthfuls of mash and some broccoli for lunch, the server asked if everything was ok and I explained the chicken was disgusting, she took the plates away, no apology, asked if we wanted a dessert, my husband had one, I refused, I was not going to pay for inedible chicken, the bill came and she took off £7 of a £16.49 2 course meal, so I paid £9.50 for three mouthfuls of mash a tiny piece of broccoli and a small bowl of salad, What a rip off, Harvester you won’t be seeing us again if you treat your customers like this. Awful.

5* service!!
Want to give a shout out to our waitress divide who went above and beyond for my pregnant needs. She was so calming and smiley and nothing seemed much trouble at all. She made our anniversary really special.
Food come out very quick, have been many times and will keep coming back again.
Fancy long night out
We arrived our pre-booked table wasn't ready eventually we were taken through brought drinks then waitress disappeared found different one ordered food and went to salad bar hardly anything there no lettuce no rolls or butter found cutlery which was dirty went back to table starter eventually arrived 1 hour later well just 2 bowls of bones really very little meat advised by waitress these are on weight, must be heavy bones then. At £7+ not good value. Another wait then for main course, we were getting quite cold by now as it was very chilly, the chap on next table had now gone to sleep, we decided not to have sweet, thought it could be breakfast time before it arrived, if you fancy long night out it's the place to be. Litte disappointing
Do not eat here awful
Went to the harvester in sovereign harbour Eastbourne, waited 10 minutes at the front for someone to come other to reception to get us a table, waited a further 10 minutes for the waiter to come and take our order despite asking him to come over 3 times!
Made our order which took 20 minutes to come, my daughter had ordered a plain beef burger from the kids menu and they bought a chicken burger, he then took that back said it won’t take long, 5 minutes later came back with a beef burger with lettuce, tomato and sauce, wrong again, another 5 minutes later brought the correct order by this time we had finished our meals, when paying I asked the waiter if he would knock any money off the bill for the inconvenience, he went off for a few minutes, came back and said don’t shoot the messenger but the manager has said she won’t knock anything off as it didn’t take that long ! The food was horrible and dry and the beef burger smelt off !Terrible service won’t be returning 😡

Harvester poor food hygiene human hairs found in food
Family of 4 attended Harvester Plough Sutton for a meal as it was my partners birthday. Service was good, staff friendly and food quality good apart from my 17 year old daughter food two human hairs in her mac n cheese. The first one we first put down to possibly being hers until she found a further long hair right inside the dish which certainly could not have come from her head of hair. We pointed this out to the female server who examined the dish and immediately replaced the dish although by this time it had put my daughter off her food after this unpleasant discovery. 2 hairs in one dish is more concerning than a single stray hair because it suggests kitchen hygiene controls may not have been followed and indicate poor food handlin practices. The staff server did not charge us for the dish when we came to pay which was the least they could have done to apologise.
Avoid the Sir Winston Churchill in…
Visited the Sir Winston Churchill in Rochdale early May 2026 as a birthday treat from my partner. Barely a week later I received a parking charge notice saying I had parked illegally. Neither of us saw any signs of what we needed to do and the staff never informed us of anything we needed to do so I'm extremely annoyed by this whole matter. Hospitality is in deep trouble at the moment and ridiculous stunts like this mean I and my partner will never set foot in this place again. Beware they're sharks.
Golden fleece Brentwood
I dined at the golden fleece in Brentwood essex on Monday. Andrea our waitress was very attentive and helpful she even updated our order after it was already cooking in the kitchen. The food was tasty and the service was quick. I have dined here many times and am always greeted with a smile and the food is always good.
Long hair found inside the fish batter in Rising Sun Dartford!
A group of 6 of us visited the Rising Sun Harvester last night at 8pm (12/5/26). The waitress was lovely (Hannah). However, I ordered the fish and chips. There was a long hair inside the fish batter. This only became visible when I actually started to eat the fish/pull it apart. I alerted the waitress when I was able to, about 7 mins into the meal. I was so hungry I ate around the hair and left that section alone. She took the hair from me and alerted the manager. There was also another smaller hair, so I just left most of the meal.
It also put off the other guests with me, as they started to look at their meals. I have to say also that the chips were barely cooked, and not as chips should be. The rotisserie chicken was limited, so one of the guests could not have the full chicken combo. Also the rolls are now full of sugar and horrible (IMO).
This meal was for my son’s birthday, and this did spoil it a bit.
Yes, the meal was taken off the bill, but this shouldn’t happen in the first place.
What do Harvester want to be?
Like many, we have visited Harvester over the years. Let's be honest, you all know what you are getting, nothing amazing, but nothing overly expensive either. It has always had a wide range of options, particularly useful for the kids.
I first started noticing the change with Harvester when they introduced the first incarnation of the menu changes, a long with new plates. I'd describe these plates as, more looking nice then actually serving any practical use.
For the menu change itself, it seemed to be well received. A few odd portion sizes vs practicalities, what really is the point of serving the chicken on a skewer like that? Anyhow, with the discount, the free salad, it was always a win with most. However, I did start to question what is Harvester trying to be - fancy plates, but really not a fancy menu and prices starting to creep up
Unfortunately, it seems that this strategy and transformation change has continued. Having visited two different Harvester locations, I'd summarise it as "not knowing it's place".
Food prices have increased, food portions and quality have decreased, understaffed and long waits for service (only visited on weekends).
That said, the biggest thing in my head is what exactly is the vision of Harvester? It's clear the staff work hard - customers are served well. However, with the transformation on menu changes vs cost - Harvester has lost it's position as OK value and now creeping below this. Given the competitors elsewhere, too many too list (not fast food outlets), I'd argue Harvester will start to lose this customer segment of those who value good bang for buck.
In summary - not the same as Harvester previously. I appreciate costs have increased, but quality and service have lowered. Versus it's peers, which vary from other Pub chain food, to Nandos and even Rudi's pizza (yes they are all at the same price point). I just don't know where Harvester is trying to fit in here. To M&B - Please don't turn it into a Toby Carvery type model, and target customer segment.
The new menu has ruined them
I used to love coming here with my family, and it was always a great experience. Unfortunately, the new menu has completely changed things for the worse. It feels like they’ve gone as cheap as possible with some of the ingredients — especially the chips, which no longer taste anywhere near as good as they used to.
The bread at the salad bar was also one of my favourite parts, but it’s now been replaced with an overly sweet, American-style bread that tastes more like cake than bread.
Another disappointment was the removal of the tandoori skewer, which was easily the best option they had. It was full of flavour and something we always looked forward to.
Overall, it’s sadly not the same place anymore. Unless they bring back some of the old menu and quality, I’d probably give it a miss.
The menu has been changed and the food…
The menu has been changed and the food is poorer quality. For example they have changed this chips (to cheaper ones) and they taste awful and never cooked properly. The bread rolls now taste full of sugar like cake. We used to go harvester once a week now we will be going else where.
Great night at the Harvester
Great night at the Harvester, Brentwood. Excellent food and service. Made to feel very welcome by Jane, the lovely manager. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a friendly comfortable night out, with a home from home feeling.
