I absolutely loved my placement in San Ignacio, Belize. Me and my friend worked on an eco park farm for the veterinary internship, and lived with the family that owns it, the Marins. They were so welcoming and generous with all they had. I felt like a part of the family. They love their animals and have huge hearts for what they do, it’s very obvious! My only complaint is that the Intern Abroad HQ program description was very misleading. A lot of the information about this specific program was either a bit off or very incorrect. I was still extremely happy with my experience, I give the Marin family a 10/10 for everything, but I was expecting something different based on the description of what I signed up for online. Overall amazing experience!

Going abroad through Intern Abroad HQ was a smooth process and an amazing experience! All my questions were answered promptly for the most part, with the exception of some confusion in communication between Euroace, Intern Abroad, about the amount of days I was allowed to stay in my host home. Everything else was great, and I would recommend interning abroad through them!

I'm a current intern placed in Cusco, Peru through IVHQ, doing marketing and communications with a local organization. The process from application to arrival was clear and well organized, and the support has been genuinely responsive. When I've reached out, I've had the best experience with REAL people replying fast and actually being helpful. The placement itself has been the highlight: meaningful work, a great host organization, and an experience that's pushed my Spanish from conversational to fluent. If you're a student considering an internship abroad in Latin America, this is a legitimate and well run way to do it.

Before applying, I was excited about the idea of interning abroad, but I was also nervous. Living in another country for a month felt like a huge leap, and I had a lot of questions. The Intern Abroad HQ team was patient throughout the process and helped me feel prepared through emails, webinars, and one-on-one support when needed.

My internship in Ireland ended up being far more hands-on than I expected. I worked on real marketing projects, learned new skills, and gained confidence in my ability to adapt and solve problems in an unfamiliar environment. At the same time, I was able to experience Irish culture in a way that would not have been possible as a tourist.

Looking back, it was one of the most rewarding experiences I have had, both professionally and personally. I’m very grateful I took the leap and participated.

I had been researching internship programs for students when, fortunately, I came across Intern Abroad HQ. Through this internship, I had the opportunity to collaborate with the Archipelagos Institute of Marine Conservation, where my supervisor, Ms. Silvia, and I worked together very effectively. I was able to focus on refining my skills in identifying marine organisms based on their physical characteristics, as well as learning about various habitats. Furthermore, I gained practical experience in calculating the biodiversity of a community through hands-on application. Although we encountered some minor issues regarding scheduling conflicts during the process, everything proceeded smoothly thanks to effective communication. Consequently, this internship not only helped me enhance desired skills, such as species identification and data analysis, but also taught me how to communicate effectively when working with a partner.

One thing that Intern Abroad HQ does exceptionally well, in my experience, is allowing interns to engage in a thorough process of self-reflection following their internship. The reflection questions are rigorous and meaningful, prompting interns to think critically and reflect deeply on both themselves and the organization with which they collaborated.

My experience was tailored extremely well to my interests and exceeded my expectations! I felt fully supported throughout and would recommend this to anyone! The application process was simple and easy to follow, and I was supported from start to finish. I also loved my host family stay and the location for the internship.

I had a very positive experience with Intern Abroad HQ. From the beginning, the team was responsive and helpful, guiding me through the application process step by step. They made everything clear and easy to understand, especially when it came to preparing for the internship abroad.

During my placement, in Bali I felt supported and well-informed. The local team and coordinators were approachable and available whenever I had questions or needed assistance. The experience itself was meaningful and helped me grow both personally and professionally. Not to forget the internship in made tea that was very helpful full of joy and inspiring people that I learned so much from , I’m very grateful and happy that I was part of this amazing program , would definitely recommend it to every student that wants to get out of their comfort zone but somehow scared , you won’t be feeling scared because the team will take really good care of you throughout your whole time during your internship!!

I Had an amazing experience with InternAbroad HQ during my internship in Bali. I enjoyed every single moment of the journey. Everyone was incredibly kind, welcoming, and open-minded, which made me feel at home from day one.

The accommodation at Sakha House was amazing very comfortable, clean, and well taken care of. Even the housekeepers were so friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were always delicious and something I looked forward to every morning.

My workplace experience was also a solid 10/10. I learned so much, met wonderful people, and truly enjoyed working in such a positive environment. Bali itself made the experience even more unforgettable.

Having the opportunity to spend three months in Auckland, New Zealand was very memorable and formative! Both adventure and obstacle influenced my growth, validating and shifting perspectives I had of myself and the country around me. Combining travel with an internship is an experience I would recommend to anyone, as you get to learn through a professional and multicultural lens while also pushing the boundaries of your comfort zone and meeting new people. I’ll forever be grateful for the experiences and self-reflection I gained in the beautiful country of New Zealand!

This was the greatest experience of my life! I felt very lucky to be placed in such a great internship (Andrology) where my team took such good care of me. Additionally, my accommodation was amazing and I met some life-long friends through my shared apartment. It was nice to have everything set up for me even better than I could have expected. I honestly wish my internship was a bit longer.

The process was very simple to complete, and I was never without help! Any questions I had were quickly answered by the program manager. The Reserve Management & Research internship at the Kruger National Park made my future possible. My stay in South Africa exceeded my expectations, as I learned so much while I was there, and I couldn't imagine a better experience for me. I stayed for 12 weeks, and each week brought new experiences, excitement, and people. I’ve learned so much about South Africa, reserve management, wildlife, poaching, ecology, and plant life. Before going to South Africa, I was unsure about which direction I wanted to take for my future. It is now crystal clear that I want to work in conservation in Africa!

I very much enjoyed the opportunity to engage in substantive legal work such as legal research and drafting. I learned to engage in real legal work, work under a supervisor (law firm partner), manage tasks in a timely and efficient manner, while at the same time studying Spanish law and the Spanish language. I believe this experience will be invaluable toward my personal and professional development. The guidance was very clear and helpful!

Everyone in the Intern Abroad HQ team was very helpful. They were very patient with me, especially since my internship required extra/complex steps (due to the university approval process). Im very grateful for Sarah my Program Manager, and the country's local team for guiding me from the very beginning until the end. My experience with Intern Abroad HQ was excellent. They made sure I had everything I needed before my internship, and their communication throughout the process was outstanding. From the application stage to returning home after the program, everything was well organized and smooth. The program manager is really supportive throughout the entire experience, which makes it easier. This internship was a transformative experience that enriched both my personal and professional growth. I especially enjoyed contributing to the women empowerment project and participating in maternity rounds at the hospital. These experiences strengthened my commitment to community service, deepened my understanding of social impact, and inspired me to pursue a career in mental health and clinical psychology.

My remote internship through Intern Abroad HQ with Women of Substance in Trinidad and Tobago was far more impactful than I initially expected. What stood out most was that this experience was not just about completing tasks — it was about contributing to meaningful, community-centered work that supports women navigating marital, family, and financial challenges.

From the beginning, the application process was smooth, structured, and well-communicated. The Intern Abroad HQ team provided clear guidance, realistic expectations, and helpful pre-departure (remote) preparation materials. I always felt supported and knew where to turn if I had questions.

What made this internship truly great, however, was the quality of collaboration and the purpose behind the work. As a remote intern, I worked closely with my supervisor to brainstorm and develop culturally relevant educational programs tailored to women in the Caribbean context. I was encouraged to contribute ideas, think critically, and approach program development with cultural sensitivity. Rather than being assigned repetitive tasks, I was treated as a valued contributor.

This experience strengthened my cross-cultural communication skills, adaptability, and professional confidence. Designing educational materials in a context different from my own required humility, active listening, and thoughtful engagement. I learned that real impact begins with understanding lived experiences rather than imposing assumptions.

Women of Substance is doing an excellent job of centering their programs around community realities. Their work is empathetic, mission-driven, and socially impactful. Even as a remote intern, I could clearly see the long-term vision behind their initiatives.

In terms of value for money, the internship provided professional development, international exposure, and practical experience that would be difficult to gain independently. The structure, support, and credibility of Intern Abroad HQ add significant value.

First things first, USE YOUR INTERN ABROAD CHECKLIST AND OTHER PROVIDED RESOURCES!!!! This made so much of the paperwork and stuff like flight and visa information much easier. Also, it helps you to know what to pack and what to expect, including the cultural expectations.

I interned/shadowed for a total of 2 months (8 weeks) from May-July. Going into this experience, I was quite nervous and unsure if I should proceed since I didn't have much hands-on experience in healthcare. Also, I'd never been out of the country or flown on a plane before, much less traveled alone. However, I made so many amazing memories and had some incredible surgical/medical experiences that I never would have had if I hadn't seen this through. I couldn't have asked for a better program manager and local team. Communication was great, and I felt supported throughout the entirety of my experience. There was also some flexibility built into the program that allowed me to participate in some fun activities (e.g., safari and hikes) and prevent burnout.

Being able to stay in a hostel allowed me to meet so many amazing people and make new friends from around the world. Despite coming from different, unique backgrounds/cultures, we got along great and actually had a good amount in common. There was never a dull moment, and they always made sure I was included - whether we were playing cards, discussing our internship experiences, or going out to engage in the local community. This is coming from an introvert by the way. Although, I ended up getting a little homesick towards the end of my 2 months, I never felt alone or unsupported.

The only regret I have is not learning more Swahili before my internship. Although most of the medical professionals had proficient English skills, it was difficult to communicate with the local patients, and since it was often very busy, the doctor(s) I was shadowing didn't always have time to translate for me. However, I did learn a good amount through trial and error by speaking on the fly. You're never judged for being incorrect. They recognize you're trying and putting in the effort to learn their language and are more than willing to help you learn it.

What I enjoyed and what I learned: I most enjoyed the interactivity and cultural immersion of the internship. I was able to observe various surgical procedures and clinical consultations while immersing myself in Tanzanian culture and engaging with the local population. Although the internship primarily focused on Orthopaedic Surgery, its interdisciplinary structure allowed me to collaborate with professionals from various medical fields. As an aspiring PA, one of my greatest takeaways from this experience was recognizing the importance of cross-cultural communication and remaining open-minded and unbiased as a competent healthcare professional.

I took a year off to gain experience after my degree as part of this I undertook a remote internship in marine mammal research. Where I did a research project into Bottlenose and common dolphins. I sent a lot time improving my QGIS skills and getting to grips with R these are skills that have better prepared me for studying at a postgraduate level. I plan to go onto a second internship in stainable farming. These internships have allowed me to gain experience whilst working from home.
