Awful customer support. They automate their ban/appeal process. You CANNOT talk to a human. If you're unlucky enough to get falsely banned, you just lost your account for good.

What happens to honest to god player like me is that even when you play by their rules, even when you don't break any guideline or rules, you get banned by a broken bot system who accuse you with "certainty" that you are using bots. In any game i've played not only i never used any bots in my life, but i also realize that they track every action of their player, which in todays time are consider as spying and gathering illigaly your information. This company need to be buried, because everything about it smell rot and bullshit. I was naïve enough to spend money on runescape, but after this being the worst gaming experience of my life, i will never spend another dime on their company, no matter which game they try to make. Support are made of robots, and automaticly deny any appeal made, no matter how wrong they are about the offense you supposedly made. Never trust this company, and stay away from their game.
Absolutely terrible and rude support!
Literal abysmal level of support.. never really used it before so never understood how people could say it was so bad until I needed it.. got a passive aggressive rude support agent try to tell me after getting hacked that the account wasn't mine and I didn't create it and that I'd be breaking their computer misuse act trying to get support for it.. while some guy from whatever country can log into my account and clear my bank but that's fine.. what a joke!

Customer Support and Jagex Overall - A Joke
Just look at every other review here and it all speaks for itself. Their “anti-cheat” if you can call it that is an absolute joke. They ban their long term players left and right with 0 evidence provided and when you appeal you get AI generated responses with no actual support. The game we all loved in the early 2000s is gone. Is the content fun? Absolutely! But don’t you dare raid with friends and loot split, don’t trade any other player, don’t loan or borrow GP from a friend, don't pick up anything off the ground, and don't stay working in one skill too long, or you will be banned with no given evidence and your appeals, despite how much proof you have, will be denied automatically by AI. It’s sad to see where this company has gone.

Terrible, my email linked to Runescape is deactivated and when i tried to contect support with PROOF that i own the account all im getting is dogshit bot cookie cutter answer. They dont care, they keep saying they are making the system better but they arent.

Jagex Support Is a Joke — Ignored a Clear Bug and Called It “Intended Game Mechanics”
After losing 11 Ancient Scales to a bug during the Seriyu boss fight, I submitted a detailed ticket to Jagex Support. Their response? A copy-pasted message claiming “no valid items were lost outside of intended mechanics” and that their decision was “final.”
Let’s be real — I didn’t lose billions. We’re talking about a tiny 0.1M GP drop that clearly vanished due to a bug. If they can’t verify or fix something that small, what confidence should any player have that they’ll handle major losses fairly?
This isn’t about the value — it’s about trust. Players invest time, money, and effort into RuneScape, and Jagex’s refusal to acknowledge even minor issues shows how little they care about their own community. They hide behind canned policies instead of investigating real reports.
After years of membership, I’ve cancelled my sub. If the developers and support team can’t be bothered to stand behind their own product, then it’s clear this game’s best days are behind it.
False Bans
Like many others, my nearly 2200 total iron got banned for "RWT" during the Sep 2025 ban wave. I appealed the ban multiple times and only got automated responses and no customer support of any kind. Being an iron I am especially confused what they could have "detected". I did use a BA boosting service for my torso in 2022 but besides that and the occasional raid split I have basically -0- interaction with other players. Just wild.
I've quit playing on all of my other accounts and refuse to give this company another dime.

My 15 years old account trimmed 5.8b permabanned and why for swapping which they say is not against TOS. I appealed the ban got an automated reply at 5am UTC lol!!! I appealed again I got the EXACT same reply. I loved the game but INSANELY horrible customer service. I will make it my mission to not recommend this company/game to everyone
They mistakenly permabanned my OSRS account Kaleryon
They mistakenly permabanned my only free-to-play OSRS account Kaleryon (created in 2024), which has hundreds of hours of hard-working gameplay, +1100 total skills, almost all f2p quests done and 98 combat level, I'm still awaiting for help to fix this problem and hoping for a positive solution from the game's support team. I'll not giving up this time if they insist to decide that this false ban is correct, because IT'S NOT. I never used any macroing or bot tools and i can prove this is a mistake made by their game detection system. If this is a honest company who actually cares about the game's real playerbase, hopefully they will fix this error as soon as possible.

Trash company will take your money and ban your account without any reason. I spent a lot of money to jagex, and they don't even supply any evidence of said rule breaking. They just send automated messages turning down appeals without giving any reasoning. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS.
OSRS account hacked 2 days ago
OSRS account hacked 2 days ago, which was also on a jagex account with 2fa enabled.
Hacker managed to bypass the email sent when logging in and also bypassed my accounts 2fa and cleared 2 billion from my bank.
Jagex reply? We do not provide item recovery services and to secure my account properly.. (despite my account having everything enabled and being as secure as possible)
Jagex don’t care for players, even when accounts get compromised because of issues with their back end.

Dealing with Jagex support has been nothing short of a headache. I’ve been trying to recover an old OSRS account, and even after they confirmed that the email I’m contacting them from is the one linked to the account, I’m still completely stuck. Why? Because the password reset email never arrives — and they refuse to manually resend it.
Let me repeat that: they are literally talking to me on the same verified email tied to the account, the system acknowledges it, and still — no manual reset link. Instead, they just push irrelevant articles and loop me through their broken appeal system — like I’m talking to NPCs following a script with zero logic, initiative, or care.
And this is coming from someone who’s been playing RuneScape since the early 2000s — a real OG. I’ve never experienced support this unhelpful, robotic, and frustrating. It’s actually insane how bad it’s gotten.
This is just basic common sense — if your system says an email was sent, but it never shows up (and yes, I checked everything: spam folders, whitelists, etc.), then try manually resending it. But instead, they blindly trust a broken, glitchy system and show no signs of actually trying to help.
Jagex's support is cold, unresponsive, and totally disconnected from the community. There’s no sense of being heard — even when you provide everything they ask for. They’ve completely dropped the ball on something that should have been an easy fix. Just incredible.
My account was falsely banned
My account was falsely banned. I thought it would be an easy fix—but I was completely wrong. No one was willing to help, and I kept getting flooded with automated responses. I even had to resort to practically begging on X just to get someone to look into my ban. When I finally got through to an actual person, all they said was: 'All decisions are final. Review the rules and feel free to start a new account.' I had spent so much on bonds and membership—just for it all to end like that. I’ll never touch another game with a support team like this again. It’s honestly disheartening to see how far they’ll go to help influencers or big names, while the average player gets completely ignored. It’s really sad.
Horrible customer service.
It takes weeks/months to get any reply from them, and most of the time, the reply is a form-response that has nothing to do with the request. There's a reason they have such a large discounted annual membership: if there's a problem with it, the customer is out of luck.
Payment issue with Jagex
My boyfriend has paid twice for a 1 month membership. The first payment was canceled, while the other is pending, and I still don't have a membership with you. I linked my gmail to my account as well. My boyfriend wants his second refund back if I don't receive a month of membership within 24 hours. If I don't receive a month of membership, I will never pay you for another membership again. Please and thank you.

PS Everytime my boyfriend has paid for his membership, it goes through jagex, but when he pays for mine, it says it goes through old school runecape. What is the difference? My boyfriend also plays osrs.

I have been playing for over 25 years and they banned my account and accused me of macroing. I don't even know what that is. I'm not computer savvy. they said they have been monitoring my account for a while and said I was using some kind of software that i have never ever heard of. wtf r/s I was only trying to play the game. I don't sell r/s items off game online I wouldn't even know how to. if they were observing my acct they would see that stuff only goes into my r/s bank acct and not out unless I elch it or sell it on the r/s grand exchange. they are reviewing my rebuttal but they said I could play a different character if I had one, or could make another one and start all over you know what I say? FOUL. (can you say Lawsuit) What an insult and so uncaring I have a lot of money wrapped up in my one avatar and I have bonds and treasure hunters I haven't used. these accusations that they have banned me for are False. and I will sue them if I have to. I certainly do not feel all warm and fuzzy about them anymore.
