Easy to order, was delivered quickly and it’s a beautiful looking gate

Very disappointing experience with MD Carpentry. I ordered garden gates which were never received. When I contacted the company to resolve the issue, there was very little care or effort to actually investigate what had happened.
Instead of helping resolve the problem or offering a replacement or refund, they simply relied on tracking showing that a parcel had been delivered, despite the gates themselves not being included.
Good customer service would involve working with the customer to sort out missing items, but unfortunately that was not my experience. I am now having to go through a lengthy dispute process to try and resolve something that should have been handled by the company in the first place.

amazon said delivery in 48 hrs. seller takes 10days to deliver.

this is too long, I had arranged people to fit the gate.

i have now changed my review from 1 star to 4 star.

After 1 hrs 30 mins on the phone talking to amazon and the currier at no avail we were able to contact the seller. i have no idea what the seller did but they managed to get this gate to me 10 hrs after a chat with them. the seller is great, amazon and the currier not so much. the gate is of a good quality and i would recommend

Good afternoon. Can’t complain too much due to the price but the gate was poorly finished (cut ends not sanded/planed) and two cross braces needed refixing by me.

It was very straight forward and the description matched what I got, I wasn’t sure on how sturdy this garden gate was going to be for the price but it has not disappointed. I will be ordering again if needed in the future

Well, I was impressed by the service when I ordered a custom-made gate, as I had several email exchanges to get the correct size.
I was, however, a bit disappointed in the finished product when it arrived, as it bore little resemblance to the photo of the standard gate.
I have now hung the gate and time will tell if it stays square as there are is cross bracing.

The delivery man just left it outside and could not be bothered to ring the door and just took a photo and walked off.
No 5 stars due to lazy delivery person I watched a recording on ring doorbell

I ordered a driveway gate from MD Carpentry and I’m very happy with the service. The delivery was fast and reliable,and the gate is great quality. Definitely worth the money.

I ordered a featheredge gate from MD Carpentry Workshop for my front garden and it is absolutely perfect! I needed custom sizing as well and the team communicated very well with me and made life super easy.
Delivery was well co-ordinated as well as I am not home often.

If i could have given zero stars, I would have done. We had a garden gate delivered early September, gate arrived in shrink wrap but all looked in order. I employed a carpenter to fit the gate only last week. It's a gate, not something you feel you need to go home and try on! Upon fitting the gate the carpenter realised that the arched top was not symmetrical. Easy fix I know, if you know what you are doing and have the correct tools and you are not paying for a professionals time!!! I contacted MD Carpentry, my first email ignored so resent; to which I received a reply offering a measly 10% compensation; yes a whole £9.50. Just embrassing, upon replying Martin stated that he was being more than fair as the gate was delivered back in September to which I stated I didn't feel the need to quality check a simple back gate and requested 50% back or a new gate to which I have been ignored!!! If I could post photos I would, as the gate looks utterly ridiculous. This company also supplies B&Q who I will also be contacting to make them aware of shoddy workmanship! Their web site looks impressive. Do not be fooled!!! Stay clear

We recently bought a wooden gate from this company and it turned up this morning (10/9/25). They didn't knock the door or engage in any way which I thought was strange, so we Carried the gate in and took a look at it. Now we paid approximately £120 for this gate and to be honest I think I could have done a better job myself. The general finish although not disastrous is rough, the fixing screw holes have been left unplugged and there is an arch at the top that looks as if it's been made by a 7 year old, there are nails sticking through that havent lined up with the braces and there is damage from the delivery. I got in touch with them and if I'm honest it didn't give me any hope. They flitted through the complaint, asked for photos, said they'd send another one and then cut me off. No apologies or explanation just an offhand conversation. We're up in the air at the moment but not viewing the situation with any hope but we'll have to see. I'm putting this out as a warning to other people to be wary of this company. Their communication is terrible. As an add on to this review, they have contacted me and offered 15% discount (I haven't received it yet!) In the interests of fairness we have (allegedly) received our refund of £17 which I have had to spend and more on new timber and time sanding it to make it look somewhat decent!! 29/1/26 MD carpentry are (suddenly!) checking up with trust pilot to see whether or not I am a genuine reviewer! Dodgy or what!!!
