Had a PERMANENT contract and started in September. Advertised a salaried role but it was actually hourly paid. Never saw hide nor hair of my manager or team, WFH the whole time with some site visits. Never got enrolled into the pension. They then make me redundant 2 weeks before Christmas. Great big back and forth to get my travel expenses paid and now they won't send me my P45. I don't think they ever intended to keep me permanently even though it was advertised as such. Really dodgy company, avoid at all costs.

I worked for mitie for over 6 years as a Director I'm all about team work and leadership. Dont come and work at mitie if your looking for leadership. Top management is poor unprofessional and don't care about customers or staff.

Fabrication Supervisor in Derby area. he didn't turn up for the meeting, so i chased the office, so was rescheduled half an hour later, the guy appears a further 10mins late, he then calls me a ladies name, argues that he didn't just say what he most definitely did, then without a hello or sorry, he says- he has to drop someone off and will be back later, i said no we had an interview time set for 12, then reset for 12,30 its now 12.40 and i was using my lunchbreak, he then gobbed off and hung up, he was really aggressive, rude, antagonistic, totally unprofessional and i felt he was displaying specific prejudice to me and who i was. im utterly disgusted with the behaviour of this low life. A formal complaint was raised through HR but i doubt anything will happen and he certainly wont change his attitude, total lack of manners and continue to display ignorance and arrogance on this level.

I am writing this review out of sheer frustration because I have hit a brick wall with your customer service.
On 06/11/2025 (Flight PC1178, Stansted to Sabiha Gökçen), security personnel at the gate confiscated my Apple keyboard from my bag. Passengers routinely travel with power banks, laptops, and devices containing far stronger batteries, yet my small keyboard was singled out.
To make matters worse, the attitude of the ground staff was appalling. One staff member actually laughed while checking the paperwork, dismissively telling me, "rules are rules, mate". I found this incredibly unprofessional.
Upon returning to London, I chased this up through every channel. I was eventually told via phone that the battery was "leaking". This is a lie. I have photographs proving the device is in pristine condition with absolutely no defects.
Since then, I have been passed from pillar to post. My complaints on X (Twitter) were ignored. I reached out via LinkedIn, was given a specific email address, wrote to them, and was redirected again. Since that last email? Total radio silence. No one has replied.
This situation caused significant inconvenience as I was forced to work in another country using an unfamiliar keyboard layout, disrupting my work. You have seized my personal property without valid cause (hiding behind a false excuse) and have now completely cut off communication.
Frankly, taking a passenger's property without valid grounds and then refusing to engage amounts to little more than theft. I expect a full investigation and compensation immediately.

Mitie Security is a serious danger to the public, especially vulnerable people. My autistic son has now been physically grabbed, cornered and harassed by their guards in more than one store — including today at B&Q, where a guard came up behind him and put hands on him for NO reason.

This is not a one-off. It’s a pattern of aggression, profiling and intimidation. Mitie previously had a guard removed from Sainsbury’s for harassing my son — and yet it’s still happening.

My son is mixed-race but pale-skinned, disabled and vulnerable — and Mitie staff seem to target him because of how he looks. It’s blatant discrimination and completely unsafe.

I have reported this as harassment and assault to the police and added it to his MASH safeguarding file.

Mitie has no control, no training and no accountability. This company should NOT be responsible for anyone’s safety. They should be shut down.

I wish I could put minus stars. My school leaver son worked as a cleaner for this company. They wouldn’t let him take accrued annual leave for 10 months. Then when he told his manager that he couldn’t use their system for booking it, he was brushed off. So he didn’t have any annual leave for 2024. Then in 2025 he was told he couldn’t carry annual leave over to 2025. He finished the job to go to university, and took his annual leave accrued in just 2025. He had just left home to go to university, and they sent a debt collector after him as his manager had signed off a day and a half over what he had accrued in 2025. They know he wasn’t able to work out their system. He did that filthy job to pay for university. They robbed him of holiday and now they have distracted him from his studies and put a lot of worry onto us, after he worked so hard to be able to afford to go to university. A decent employer would have been proud of one of their young cleaners going off to study for a degree. What a demoralising lesson for a hard working young person.

I worked for Mitie for five years, always gave my best, and never had any problems or complaints. It used to be a good company, but sadly things have changed.

Earlier this year, something happened and the company found a way to dismiss me on 1st May. After years of loyal service, this has left me and my family struggling financially. To make things worse, I’ve now received a letter saying I owe an “overpayment” — after already losing my job.

I’m deeply disappointed. I was proud to work for Mitie and always represented the company with respect and honesty. But the way this was handled has destroyed my trust. Big companies like Mitie should value their workers and treat people fairly, not leave them broken after years of service.

I hope this message reaches someone in leadership who still cares about fairness and the wellbeing of the staff who keep this company running.

I say this in a light-hearted tone. I applied for a couple of cleaning roles with this company at an Manchester airport and Manchester piccadilly railway station 22:00 to 6:00. 37 hours per week I have 9 years experience in industrial and commercial cleaning. The hiring team didn't think I'd be suitable for those roles and offered me a position at a co-op 15 hours per week. If you’re competent and skilled with great communication skills then go elsewhere. This company will suck the life out of you. Incompetent management, unsupported, insufficient training with a toxic culture.

Never have I worked for a company and left with no improvement on the skills I joined with. Recently joined a large FM company and can honestly say they put Mitie and the CEO to shame.

Mitie Resourcing Team are absolutely diabolical. With more than 10 years of security and management experience and no criminal record still get declined for normal security role. Makes me laugh it’s not just me few other also. I know who sit behind those desk as I dealt with resourcing team with my previous employment. Awful company stay away from them

Working for this company at the moment but not for much longer, my manager is the most ignorant and unprofessional person I’ve ever met. Told me to clean with the old company’s cleaning chemicals, stock asked for not delivered, asked numerous times for her managers number but just ignored it. Minimum wage, not worth the bother. Met her once and spoke down to me. Just a terrible woman and company. Update I’ve had no choice but to hand my notice in, All management totally ignore your emails or what’s apps, it’s made me ill, they need to rewrite there handbook.

Mitie took over my cleaning contract and I had previously worked at the branch for 5 years ,very much enjoyed my job. once mitie took over , nothing but issues ,problems, payments constantly incorrect, never sent cover so unprofessional.. handed notice in and they deducted owing holidays off my leaver wage ..

What a dirty company from the c.o.e Phil Bentley all the way down to Lorna Davies and victoria burgoyne I have made multiple complaints on bullying and harassment from these idiots, and Phil Bentley keeps protecting them they put false complaints in against use other managers to do the same, they break data protection laws they give out your private details to other people so they come and knock on your house when you have not come to work and ask your neighbour questions about you and hang out side your house at 4 in the morning in the mitie van I have reported it so many time to Phil Bentley but he's only interested in taking 14 million pound a year pay cheque.
