Wish I could give less than one star! The Mitie workers have left rubbish, damaged property and left paint on windows. One day I thought the ladder was coming through my window. How stupid does a person have to be to place a ladder against the glass in a window and then use the ladder with all their weight against glass? Morons being employed by imbeciles, in my opinion. You just have to read the Wikipedia page for them to see how subpar the standards are for this company.

I had heard about Mītie cleaning company, I sent my CV to the job application, but later decided to read reviews about this company. I was very wrong but thank you for the reviews posted by people that made me take a step back and It's better not to risk and let yourself be humiliated. Many companies treat employees terribly and irresponsibly because they feel like the boss of the employee, especially if you are from another country. It's sad when the human attitude disappears and there is no ability to communicate with employees. But honestly, I saw such bad reviews for the first time about a cleaning company. It means Mitie is not trying to improve its attitude, it looks very unprofessional, uneducated staff, if there are so many complaints I am shocked.

I have almost 9 years of experience in various housekeeping jobs (commercial and healthcare) and I speak English fluently. Whenever I apply for one of their positions I get rejected. I don’t know what their issue is because they never gave me an explanation (probably my nationality(?)) But judging by the other reviews, it doesn’t seem to be a fun company to work for.

Absolutely shocking experience with this shower,

They smashed my window whilst mowing a shop I was visiting, very pleasant about it, it happens quite often they said, we have all the insurance in place we will sort it.

That was months ago and now they just ghost me! disgusting mob!!

Working for Mitie has caused more stress as they are unsupportive, have no empathy communication between ourselves and management was non-existent. We put in a grievance that was upheld but did not receive anything from this so was all pointless, my husband has early onset dementia and was treated appalling, with no support or communication, months waiting for Occupational health and expecting us to find an OH assessor even though they used their own company Optima Health, Just glad we don't have to deal with them anymore, such an uncompassionate company.

To all those considering working for this company BEWARE you will be entering an abusive relationship if you sign a contract with Mitie. All previous negative reviews are a true reflection of how this company treats its employees hence the significantly high turn-over of staff. When an employee starts a job in any organisation the relationship between two parties should be based on non threatening behaviour, respect, trust and support, honesty and accountability in addition to negotiation and fairness. This is supposed to be the basis in relation to the duty of care that is offered to an employee if the organisation has any integrity to ensure that the working environment is a healthy one. However, based on my son’s experience and the experience of others, the opposite is the case with Mitie. My son lives 2 hours away from the Mitie work place and as such he has no control over public transport no matter how early he left home. Despite producing evidence of train cancellations or delays via video, pictures or confirmation on the news this is not seen as an acceptable reason to be late. They were resistant to any negotiation, he offered to make up for lost time but because of their inability to be flexible this was denied. He was given unrealistic and costly solutions by his manager at the time such as moving close to his work place or spending nights in a hotel nearby. He did the latter for a few days but as you can imagine that was a very expensive option. The penalty for his lateness was economic abuse meaning that he did not get paid as a punishment. He was spoken to with disdain and constantly threatened with the sack which eventually led to a disciplinary meeting. If he booked leave the rosta’s did not acknowledge it and denied receipt of any leave requests thus making it hard for him to take leave. If he tried to contact them via phone or email no one responded. He eventually took his leave regardless and on his return he was given a warning for taking unauthorised leave. The 13 hour day shifts, 6 day night shifts, the 2 hour commute and the anxiety about getting to work on time meant my son was always anxious and exhausted mentally and physically. When he was not working he was sleeping, he had no life for a young person. Another terrible consequence of the high turn-over of staff meant that inept, inexperienced staff with delusions of grandeur were promoted as managers. To demonstrate this delusion one manager hung a huge picture of himself on the office wall. The place is also very dirty and unhygienic, it is infested with rodents therefore my son never ate there. To list all of Mitie's abusive behaviours and failings towards its employees would make this review way too long. The fact that many have left in droves is evidence in itself, the money is not bad for a young person but is it worth being abused for it? Mitie needs to be investigated and put on special measures. My son is much happier since leaving that godforsaken place.

Was being transferred over to mitie untill I was spoken too like muck over documents messaged on a sunday a day of rest most staff have walked because no staff want to transfere over and be treated like crap no thanks to mitie

Working environment is exceptionally good. Managers and supervisors are supportive.

The toilets and general public area in John radcliffe hospital are disgusting I’ve been there every week and it’s always the same uncleaned

I applied for a Security job with Mitie and was offered and received my contract. I Gave my notice and a month later I still hadn't had 1 working day with Mitie. Then out of the blue I received an email which stated I was being made redundant. Leaving me a month without any income.
My contract stated that the notice period was four weeks but they told me I was only entitled to one weeks notice payment. My contract hours were 12 hour shifts at 12:25ph averaging 42 hours per week yet I only received £98 in notice payment. I also wasn't paid for any of the courses I spent hours doing on line on my own time. I have since found employment but now face difficulties after a month's loss of roughly £2000. How can a large firm like this reward people so badly and get away with just paying £98. They also lost some of my data during the on boarding process were you never really actually speak to another human being. Merry Christmas Mitie thank you for a total mess around from start to finish. Would never apply for a Mitie vacancy again and I have over 27 yes within the security industry. Don't bother with Mitie and their false promises and corporate b.s.

I regularly visit my local Sainsbury's in High Wycombe, Bucks, and until recently, I had never encountered any issues. But their staff have been nothing short of bullies, constantly harassing innocent customers, including myself and my family.

In one particularly appalling incident, a security guard pinned a family member of mine against a wall and threatened them. This confrontation not only left my family member injured but also caused damage to personal property. Witnessing such aggressive and unacceptable behavior has caused a great deal of stress and anxiety for my family, especially the affected individual.

I have repeatedly raised complaints with Sainsbury's and Mitie's customer service regarding this incident and the behavior of their security guards. However, despite my persistence, no meaningful action has been taken to address these serious concerns. The lack of accountability is deeply disappointing and reflects poorly on both companies.

What’s even more shocking is that the harassment continues to this day. Recently, my family member was stopped and falsely accused of shoplifting while visiting Sainsbury's to purchase a single item. The items in their bag were clearly branded from Tesco, yet the security guard refused to listen or show any professionalism. This led to further humiliation and stress for my family member, who did absolutely nothing wrong.

Mitie's security staff display a complete lack of training, professionalism, and basic customer service skills. They seem more focused on intimidating and targeting innocent shoppers than on actually preventing theft. Their behavior creates an unwelcoming and hostile environment that no customer should have to endure.

This ongoing harassment is not only unacceptable but also disgraceful for a company like Sainsbury's, which claims to value its customers. Allowing such misconduct to persist without consequences shows a blatant disregard for customer safety and well-being.

I strongly urge both Mitie and Sainsbury's to take immediate action to address these serious issues. Customers deserve to feel safe and respected while shopping, not bullied and harassed by unprofessional security staff.

Absolutely despicable. A big Booo to Mitie. One of their drivers was intimidating and threatening towards me in a car park, & tried his best to prevent me from leaving. A terrifying incident. This driver has now made a counter accusation against myself. I have called Mitie repeatedly for over a month, but nobody is willing to answer for their actions. As far as I am aware they haven't even checked the CCTV in his van. They have failed to even return my phone calls

Mitie is doing a fantastic job beyond my control. they've employed alots of worker and they have a flexible working hours and they care about their workers safety too.

Brain dead people brain dead company. Stay away from this shithole.

Mitie is the worst place to work.
I got a job offer they dine all the vetting and signed job offer after all this the canceled my job with out any reason. To get thru to these guys was a communication barrier no one in the call centers could speak clear English they fob u of when challenged don't know how mitie runs a security company when communication is a must in this industry.
Would not recommend this company at all it all lies and can't answer for canceling application why offer a job to someone and do vetting getting personal details of someone and then say no waste of a space this company do not work or apply for this company full of porkies.

Worked for them almost 3 years ago now.
Somehow they still have my details, and after the terrible treatment I received from them as a employ (2 and a half years waiting for a uniform, 3 years for a new hoover, even after i complained it had shocked me, 2 years for chemical training so I could fully do my job, lazy rude manager who ignored health and safety concerns) they still have the stupidity to emcourage me to tell everyone what it was like to work for them. So here I am, telling everyone how utterly terrible it was to be a employee of mitie. Quitting was the best thing I did.

Such a poo company to work for. Managers are all about doctoring the books and paying employees peanuts in order for them to get fat bonuses and nice payslips themselves
