then agent was helpful and not at pushy, felt very comfortable with the help given

Ambushed in the street by a Money Expert salesman who also seemed to be working for British Gas (but not working for British Gas despite the British Gas logos on his badge).
Felt nicely bullied into giving personal details, pleasantly coerced to sign up to another provider without being allowed to go home and check for myself which deal would be best (it's ok, you've got a 14 day cooling off period). Having now done my own research, I've now realised he did not sell me the best deal and I'm now in the process of switching to a better tariff with my current provider. I have since been spammed daily by Money Expert despite declining all marketing when being forced to sign up. This grossly manipulative behaviour should be unlawful.

I was stopped on the street by a young gentleman called Ibrahim. I told him I was in a hurry but he jokingly asked "are you over 18" and made me laugh. He then informed me of the changes to the energy market in July and how the rates were going up and how British Gas and Money expert were helping people onto locked tariffs that would protect them against the price rise. Throughout the process he kept the banter going and I never felt like the interaction was forced or too salesy. The information he showed me was explained very very clearly and he even managed to calm my autistic son while I was getting on a cheaper tariff. Never have I ever seen someone more knowledgeable about the energy market and the tariffs. He is such an asset to this company and wherever he works. Such a charming young man!

A comparison was carried out and a company & tariff was suggested. As it was quoted to be over £10 a month cheaper than my current tariff I agreed to switch. Everything went fine and the switch was implemented. However when the documentation came through I found that the figures I gave for annual cost had been put into the comparison as KWh and that was why the figures had come out so much cheaper. When I did the comparison myself I found that the tariff I had agreed to was more than my current tariff. I then phoned to cancel the switch but still received notification from the new company that the switch had been completed. I'm now trying to ensure that the switch WAS cancelled.

Had all the details required to hand. Clear line, Chester UK call centre, friendly call assistant (Mustafa) who spoke clear & fluent English. Took 55 minutes to set us up with a TV & broadband package (well spent) then called back exactly when arranged & it took 25 minutes to get us a deal on gas & electricity.
