What went wrong this time you ask! I have paid into this plan since 1970, and for the first time, I made an international claim after a serious medical emergency. It is now a month later, and the run-around escalates. For example, I incurred a $75 cost for medicine in Ireland after being discharged from hospital in Ireland. MSH told me Canada Life would pay, Canada Life told me MSH should pay. I needed an ambulance to go from the ship to hospital, but, there was an ambulance strike. The ship provided me with a paramedic to escort me to the hospital by taxi. MSH paid the E250 paramedic cost, but not the taxi. MSH said they pay for ambulances, and not taxi's. Case closed. Meanwhile, I still have an unresolved invoice for E1500 from the hospital in Ireland. If MSH is listed on the stock exchange, perhaps I should buy shares rather than pay useless premiums!

My experience with this insurance company has been extremely disappointing.
I visited an optical store to order a new frame and lenses. According to my insurance plan, I am entitled to full coverage for glasses and lenses once per year. I am also enrolled in one of the company's higher-tier plans, which offers extensive coverage and comes at a premium cost. The store submitted a pre-approval request to the insurance company and informed me that a response would take up to three days.
After four days, there was still no response. I contacted MSH, the insurance broker, and was informed that the request was still pending in the system and that they would follow up on it. Unfortunately, I never received any further updates or responses.
I then attempted to contact the insurance company directly through the live chat feature in both the mobile app and on the website. The chat service was effectively unusable, as the chatbot repeatedly asked the same questions in an endless loop without providing any meaningful assistance or access to a human representative.
I also sent emails to the contact addresses listed in the app and on the website. Some of these email addresses turned out to be invalid and did not accept messages at all. The emails that were successfully delivered have not received any response to date.
As a customer paying for a premium plan with comprehensive benefits, I expected a significantly higher standard of customer service and support. Instead, I have been left without any clear communication, assistance, or explanation regarding a routine claim that should be covered under my policy.
At this point, it feels as though the process is being unnecessarily delayed, and I am becoming increasingly concerned about whether the company intends to honor the benefits outlined in my insurance policy.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company. If you are considering purchasing insurance from them, I would strongly encourage you to carefully evaluate their customer service and claims handling process before making a decision.

I am extremely satisfied with my experience with MSH International.

J’ai eu un cas d’urgence avec mon fils alors que j’étais en zone rouge sur le terrain à plus de 1800km de chez moi. J’ai appelé pour obtenir la prise en charge m. Les agents de MSH on t rapidement envoyé le document de prise en charge et son restés en contact permanent avec moi et mon épouse qui était au chevet de mon fils. Malgré le refuse de l’hôpital pourtant inscrit dans la liste des hôpitaux recommandés d’accepter la lettre de prise en charge, les agents de MSH ont continué à nous accompagner et à prendre des nouvelles de l’état de l’enfant. Le seul regret c’est le manque d’humanité de l’hôpital médicaux social de Maroua qui a refusé d’accepter la lettre de prise en charge pourtant l’enfant était en fièvre élevé et faisait de la diarrhée. Nous avons failli porter plainte à cet hôpital. Dieu merci mon fils va mieux. Mais si le pire c’était produit Dieu seul sait ce qui aurait pu se passer

MSH International is constantly refusing to reimburse me for approved drugs from 2023. I had to contact them 3 times last year about this and each time it was finally approved with the last correspondence in Nov/25 stating there was a permanent note on my file. Well in March I put the same drug claim and again it was denied. I spoke with Katherine Jasper by phone and she said it would be escalated. It is now over 2 months since I placed my claim that should have been processed with the 'permanent note' and I have been ghosted. This is the worse company I have ever dealt with. I am thoroughly disappointed that PSHCP/Canada Life gave us this horrible provider.

Worst health insurance I ever experienced :
- great to promise quick answer but never comes back to you
- best at rejecting legitimate medical bill
- champion at stopping and or rejecting direct billing
I wish my company will change to real health insurance not a phony one like MSH that is just a big joke.

So... I contacted the reclamation email as they proposed two weeks ago to explain further in details all my issues, naively hoping some improvements, and guess what... never got any answer from them.
That says it all, even the reclamation center is rotten.

I rated 1 star because 0 is not an available option. Three months and counting trying to get re-imbursed for less than 1000$ of pre-approved out of pocket emergency medical expenses.
Their Portal and communication system is garbage and outdated.
I do admit that the frontline people I have spoken with (on way to many occasions) are friendly.

Calling their service feels like a gamble—sometimes you reach someone who struggles with the language, other times an agent who seems disengaged or even rude, and occasionally someone genuinely helpful who goes out of their way to assist.
The inconsistency is the real issue; while some agents are excellent, others transfer calls due to lack of understanding or handle interactions poorly.
Overall, MSH would benefit from tighter quality control, ensuring strong agents are retained and others receive proper training.

Je rencontre depuis plusieurs semaines des problèmes récurrents avec MSH concernant mes remboursements de soins.
Malgré des demandes très claires de ma part et une note explicitement ajoutée dans mon dossier indiquant que les remboursements doivent être effectués en euros, MSH continue d’émettre les paiements en livres sterling, simplement parce que mon IBAN commence par “GB”.
Résultat : les paiements sont rejetés par la banque et les remboursements prennent des semaines de retard.
Aujourd’hui, cela fait plus de deux semaines que j’attends un remboursement d’environ 220 €, et l’on m’explique maintenant que je dois attendre que le paiement incorrect en GBP soit rejeté avant qu’un nouveau paiement en Euros puisse être émis.
Le plus inquiétant est que lors d’un appel avec leurs services, il m’a été clairement expliqué que les agents qui traitent les remboursements ne consultent pas les notes présentes dans les dossiers clients et se contentent de regarder le pays de l’IBAN pour décider de la devise du paiement.
On m’a même suggéré d’ouvrir un compte dans la zone euro pour éviter ce problème, ce qui est totalement inacceptable : un client ne devrait pas avoir à modifier son organisation bancaire pour compenser un dysfonctionnement interne.
J’ai déjà contacté leur service réclamations, donc inutile de me répondre avec un message automatique me demandant de faire cette démarche.
Cette situation est extrêmement chronophage, stressante et totalement évitable si les instructions présentes dans les dossiers clients étaient simplement respectées.

Our claim has been unrightfully declined, even though the situation is literally what we are insured for. We provided all required documentation, yet the claim was rejected without a clear and fair explanation. It feels extremely frustrating to pay for coverage and then be denied when you actually need it. Based on this experience, I would not recommend taking this insurance.
